Hi Readers: I hope you guys enjoyed the first part to this new story. Now, I know that things have been rough of late when it comes to me writing stories. Though, I hope that this is the one. Let's see what happens. Now, back to writing this story I hope will last a while.
Chapter 2: Baby Bump
Casey Home – The water pressure that she just had during her shower was incredible, as it was pressure that she hasn't had in a long time. Since she's left Chicago more specifically. In fact, it was one of the things she missed about living here in Chicago. Though, not nearly as much as her loving husband, Matthew Casey. The man who (she thought) was currently in the midst of making her a morning snack (she got here early this morning as she couldn't sleep last night either, so she booked an early flight). So, it was only 10 when she got home, which was a really nice time since it gave her and Matt most of the day together, especially now that they were home in time for an early lunch when she was done in the shower (a lunch which she thought Matt was making for her right now). However, that wasn't what Matt was in the midst of doing at the moment, as he had other plans with his wife. Plans he knows she'll like since it'll help her with her hormones. After all, he has been working out this summer in the hopes that she'd come home for good.
And now that she was home for good, it was time for him to show off the results of all his workout sessions with Severide, while also getting his first chance to spend some quality alone time with his wife and son. God, he still can't believe that he gets to say that: his wife and son. A son they can hopefully name after his (late) best friend, Andrew Darden. And that's precisely where Matt decided to start the conversation as he stepped into the shower and got close to Gabby. "So, what do you think of the name Andrew Casey?" Turning her head to look at her husband, Gabby smiled as she was happy that he decided to join her. After all, she's missed him and is quite happy to see him here right now. "Why, hello there." Smirking as Gabby said that, Matt proceeded to get close to the woman of his dreams, only to place his hands on her hips and bring her body against his chest; meanwhile, Gabby wrapped her arms around his back and smiled as she looked up into Matt's eyes this morning. "Thanks for leaving shift pretty much at the beginning today."
Looking down into Gabby's eyes, Matt smiled as there was no need to thank him when he wanted to do it anyways. He's missed her and wants to be with her, much more than he wants to be at work. "I've missed you, and you need me right now. I can see it in your eyes and the way you're talking to me that this is where you need me right now." Gabby sighed, as she does need her husband at home with her right now. Though, she also knows that he loves his job, which makes her feel bad over the fact that she made him leave the job he loves for a bit. "Sorry I made you leave shift; I know you love going to work." Moving his hand to the side of Gabby's face, Matt shook his head as he stared into Gabby's eyes. "Hey, look into my eyes and listen to me." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, prior to placing her hands on his muscular chest. "I love you, and this is where I want to be right now. I've missed you dearly, and I'd rather be home with you when you need me right now." Gabby took a breath, agreeing with Matt as she does need him.
She needs him to help her get through this. "Yeah, I do need you. I need you to help me get through this baby." Placing his hand on the side of Gabby's face, Matt agreed with his gorgeous wife and smiled as he stepped close to her. After which, he leaned in and just started to take things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams (which is precisely what she wanted him to do anyways). She wants Matt to take things nice and slow with her, as it allows her to relax and just take it easy. "You have no idea how nice it feels to have your hands and lips on mine again." Matt agreed with his wife, as he felt the same way; especially as he placed his hands on her growing baby bump. "Add in the fact that I get to put my hands on your baby bump, and I just love the feeling." Gabby smiled as Matt said that, prior to cuddling up to him. Meanwhile, Matt wrapped his arms around her and smiled as he rubbed her back, only to bend down and kiss the top of her head. "Matt, can you promise me something?" Looking down at his wife, Matt agreed with her.
After all, he can always promise her things (within reason). "What is it?" Looking up at Matt, Gabby took a breath. "Can you promise me that you're not going to yell at me? I'm scared Matt, and that's why I need you home with me." Matt agreed with his wife, well aware that she was scared. After all, he's scared too. And if he's scared, then he has no doubt in her mind that she's just as scared (if not more). Add in the fact that he doesn't want to add stress (which might cause either a miscarriage or the aneurysm to burst) to the situation, and he definitely doesn't want to fight with her. "Gabby, I promise you. You aren't going to get a fight out of me." Gabby looked into Matt's eyes when he told her that, not believing him. That was, until he placed his hands on her stomach and smiled at his gorgeous wife. "Gabby, the last thing I want to do is add stress to your pregnancy which could negatively effect either your aneurysm or the pregnancy, which could have serious outcomes. Outcomes that I do not want to mention as they aren't going to happen."
Stopping for a moment, Matt took a breath prior to continuing with what he was saying. "At least, I hope they don't happen. I know that we don't have any guarantees when it comes to it, but all we can do is hope and pray that nothing happens." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, as she felt the same way. The last thing she wants is to die while pregnant with her husband's child. So, she decided to try and change the subject by getting close to Matt once more and moving her arms from around his back to around his neck. After which, she leaned in and kissed him softly as a way to make him feel happy. And let's just say that it definitely worked, as he soon moved his hands to her hips and just smirked as he took things nice and slow with her; only to pick her up off the ground and move her towards the wall to push her against it, while also moving his hands up her back as he kissed her slowly. "Want me to wash you?" Smiling as she placed her hands on Matt's back, Gabby agreed. "Especially the bump." Matt smirked as he kissed Gabby.
After which, he thought of something. "Speaking of the bump." He said, as he got down and proceeded to place his hands on her stomach. "Hi little guy. Welcome home." Matt said, as he pressed his lips to Gabby's stomach. And let's just say that really made Gabby smile. "Oh, baby. That's so sweet." Smiling as he kissed her stomach once more, Matt soon got up again and smirked as he stepped close to her and wrapped his arms around her; while she wrapped her arms around his back and leaned in to kiss him softly. "I love you so much Matt, and I want to thank you for taking me back." Moving his hand to her neck, Matt shook his head. "Hey, I never want to hear you say that again. There's no taking you back. You're my wife, and that means that I'm here for you. In fact, I want to apologize for May Gabby." Grabbing his wife's hands, Matt intertwined their fingers. "And I mean it when I say that. What I said was horrible and the worst thing I could've ever said to you. And I hope you can forgive me for what I said." Gabby agreed with Matt.
However, that doesn't mean that she and Matt aren't going to talk about it. "I want to talk about it Matt. I want to talk it through as we try and fix our marriage. I want us to be in a better place for when the baby's here…and I want to figure out a way for us to get through this together. I know, you're scared about this. Scared for me to die." Matt sighed as he agreed with his wife, as he was petrified that she'd die. "Oh, I'm petrified at just the thought of that. The last thing I want is for my wife to die because of something I did." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt say that. "What are you talking about baby?" Matt sighed as he stepped close to his wife once more and kissed her. "Gabby, I'm the one that got you pregnant, creating the situation that could kill you." Cuddling up to Matt some more, Gabby let go of his hands and wrapped her arms around his waist; while he placed his hands on her stomach once more as he stared down into his wife's gorgeous eyes. Bending down afterwards, Matt smirked as he kissed his wife softly.
However, their kiss was soon interrupted when Gabby spoke to him. "Matt, you don't honestly believe that, do you baby? Do you really think that you'd be responsible for killing me if I died while pregnant?" Matt sighed, as that's precisely how he feels. "Yeah. I'm the one that created the pregnancy, which would lead to your death. That's how I see it Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt, prior to looking down as she never thought of it that way. "I'm sorry I never saw it that way." Matt sighed as he got close to Gabby again and pressed his lips to her forehead. Meanwhile, Gabby let go of Matt's hands prior to pushing him back against the wall of the shower. And let's just say that really shocked Matt. "Woah." Smirking, Gabby got close to him and placed one of her hands on his toned chest, while placing her other hand on his neck. After which, she leaned in and kissed him softly, while Matt placed his hands on her back and took things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams. "You're not responsible babe, because I'm not going to die." Matt agreed.
After all, that was precisely what he had to believe. He had to believe that his wife isn't going to die, because he wants her to live and raise their family with him. "I hope you know that there's nothing more I want than to raise a family with you." Gabby agreed with her husband, well aware that he wants nothing more than to raise a family with her. And that's precisely what he's going to do after she gives birth to their son. "And we're going to raise our little boy together." Matt smirked as Gabby said that. "Ok. You're going to hate me for this…" Gabby looked at her husband when he said that. "What did you do?" Matt smirked as he placed his hands on her stomach once more. "I already picked out the name for our little boy." Gabby just looked at Matt as he said that. "Oh, really? Maybe you should consult me on the name?" Matt smirked as Gabby said that, only to wrap his arms around her and kiss her once more. "Andrew Matthew Casey." Gabby smiled as Matt said that, as she loves the name that he chose; especially since she knows why.
Plus, it'll be fun to stick it to Severide. "Oh, I love that idea. Plus, it'll be fun to stick it to Severide." Matt laughed as Gabby said that, as he was thinking the same thing. "Hey, we got married first. We get to have the name first." Gabby agreed with her husband. "If we ever have a girl though, I want to have the name Elizabeth as her name." Matt agreed with his wife, though he also needed to calm her down. "OK. Let's just concentrate on the fact that you need to survive this pregnancy, before we even think about having another baby with someone who isn't you. Sorry, but Gabby…I need to tell you this right away. There's something you need to know about my support for this pregnancy." Gabby was confused, as she didn't understand. "What do you mean?" Matt sighed. "This is the only time you're going to be pregnant with our kid. No more after this." And to say that Gabby was mad when she heard that was an understatement. So, she just turned around and went to walk away. "Gabby…just hear me out." Gabby then looked at Matt.'
After which, she yelled. "You just learned I was pregnant, and you aren't even giving me a chance to show you that I can do it!" Matt agreed with Gabby. "Yes. But, you're not thinking about the fact that we don't even know if you, let alone our baby are going to survive. Say you and the baby do survive, what about the next time. I'm sorry, but I'm okay with taking the risk when it's just me. I am not putting our child through this!" Taking a breath when Matt said that, Gabby started to understand and just looked down. Meanwhile, Matt walked up to Gabby and placed his hands on her arms. "Listen, how about you go relax and take it easy? Go lay down in bed and just breathe babe. I promise, we can talk about this in a minute. I just need to wash up since I'm all sweaty." Gabby agreed with her husband, as he most certainly is sweaty. "Yeah, you are." Matt smiled as Gabby said that. "You want me in boxers or sweats?" Gabby smiled when Matt asked her that question. "Boxers. I'm hormonal, but I'm not ready for sex." Matt agreed with Gabby.
Wrapping his arms around Gabby, Matt leaned in and kissed the woman he loves softly. "I love you Gabby, and just remember that all I want to do is protect you. That's all I'm doing for the rest of my life. And that's why I said that this is only once. I promise, just let me take a shower and we can talk." Gabby agreed with Matt as she proceeded to kiss him softly, prior to getting out so that she can go get comfortable and take it easy. Meanwhile, Matt let out a sigh since he knew that he just averted a fight (for now). Though, they could still get in one quite easily due to the fact that Gabby is hormonal, which could also lead to sex. But first, they need to talk.
She was extremely comfortable as she laid down in the comfort of her and Matt's bed, the future mother just taking a moment to really admire the fact that she was home with the man she loves…yet, she was also in a fight with him (which was the last thing she wanted), especially when she's pregnant. Rather, she just wants to take it easy and relax. And right now, that's precisely what she's doing as she laid back in bed and breathed. That was, until she heard Matt walk into their room, leading her to open her eyes and admire the sight of her muscular husband walking into their room wearing tight boxers. "Oh, sexy." Snickering as he looked at Gabby, Matt smiled at her. "How are you doing? You worried right now?" Gabby sighed. "You mean after you made me yell at you? Yeah." Matt agreed with Gabby as he walked over to his side of the bed, only to hang up his towel and look down at his phone. The phone he decided to make sure was on silent since he wanted to concentrate on Gabby right now. And that's what he went to do.
He picked up his phone and went to check that it was on silent. "Message you need to read?" Matt shook his head. "No, just making sure that it's on silent. Right now, I want to just concentrate on you and only you." Gabby smiled, as she loves the sound of that. "Good, does that start with an apology?" Matt sighed when Gabby asked him whether that starts with an apology, as it does. So, he opened the covers on his side of the bed prior to climbing in with the woman of his dreams. "It does." Gabby agreed with Matt as she watched him climb into bed with her, prior to cuddling up to her as he wrapped his arm around her waist. Meanwhile, she wrapped her arms around his back and took a breath as she stared into his eyes. Moving his hand up Gabby's back, Matt smiled as he placed his hand on the back of his beautiful wife's head, only to lean in and kiss her softly. "I love you. Welcome home." Gabby agreed with Matt. "I just hate that we're starting with a fight." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Baby, I want you to listen to me. Please, let me explain."
Gabby agreed with Matt as she stared into his eyes. "Gabby, right now…I'm the only one who would lose you with this pregnancy. If it goes well, then it would be both me and our child who are risking you." Gabby took a breath when she heard Matt say that, starting to understand. "Gabby, I love you. But, as a dad, I can't do that to our child. And that's why I want you to enjoy this pregnancy, as I don't think we're going to have another one. I want to give you the best pregnancy possible, as I'm already scared to lose you because of this. So, I'm not putting your life on the line again when we have a kid…especially when I'm already putting my own life on the line each and every day with my job. Remember, it was why you quit being a firefighter in the first place?" Gabby agreed with her husband as she cuddled up to him some more, while placing her hand on the back of his head and kissing him softly. "Gabby, you have to understand that this is something I need you to know. I want you to enjoy this, as this is your only pregnancy." Gabby nodded.
After all, that makes sense. "I understand, and that makes sense. I'm sorry I overreacted." Matt shook his head, as she has no need to apologize, he does. "I'm the one that needs to apologize. I worded it wrong. Maybe, had I explained it better, then we wouldn't have had this fight. I don't want to fight with you Gabby, especially not when you need me." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she does need him. "Speaking of which, who helped you move home?" Gabby smiled. "Some of my friends from Puerto Rico helped me back. I brought my things myself. I know, it was risky with me being pregnant. But, it worked out pretty well in my opinion." Matt agreed with his wife, as it did work out really well. "Well, you're home now and that's all that matters at the end of the day. That I have you back in my arms for life." Gabby agreed with her husband, as that was something she could promise him. That she'd be his for life. "Sorry I was gone for so long." Matt agreed with Gabby as he placed his hand on her back and stroked it with his thumb, while also kissing her softly.
Just taking things nice and slow with his wife, Matt smirked due to the fact that this is precisely what he wants to be doing with his gorgeous wife right now. He wants to take things nice and slow with Gabby, as they both hold each other close in the comfort of their bed. And Matt had to say, what felt even better was his wife's gorgeous baby bump against his chest. "God, I love the feeling of your baby bump against my chest." Gabby smiled as Matt said that, well aware that he likes the feeling of her baby bump against his chest. "Yet, you didn't want to have this." Matt sighed as he stroked Gabby's back with his thumb once more. "Just curious, do you still hold what I said against me?" Taking a breath, Gabby looked at the man of her dreams. After which, she grabbed his hand and leaned in to kiss her softly. And it wasn't just a quick kiss, but a long, passionate kiss to celebrate their pregnancy. Their little boy. "I'm happy you're home." Gabby agreed with her husband, as she's happy to be home as well. She loves being home with her husband.
Especially since she wants to spend as much of the pregnancy with him as she can. "Sorry I waited so long, I was just scared…" Taking a breath, Gabby tried to think of what to say; while Matt got close to her and pressed his lips to her forehead to make her feel safe in his arms until she was ready to finish her sentence, which she promptly did. "…scared that you would give me an ultimatum where it was either you or the baby. So, you or an abortion." Matt sighed when he heard Gabby say that, as that just broke his heart. The fact that she thought that he would make her chose between him or their baby was just horrifying. "Gabby, I'm so sorry. I just hate the sound of that. It's heartbreaking and I'm so sorry that I couldn't be there for you like you needed me to be." Gabby took a breath as she kissed Matt softly. After which, she pushed his chest. "Can you lay down on your back?" Matt agreed with Gabby as he rolled over onto his back for the woman he loves. Meanwhile, Gabby crawled onto his chest and smirked as she went to cuddle up to him.
And let's just say that this was very comfortable and precisely how she wanted to be laying down in bed with her husband right now. "God, you have no idea how nice it is to be back in your arms." Wrapping his arms around Gabby, Matt agreed with her due to the fact that he felt the same way. He was happy to be in bed with his wife once more. "I'm glad that you're home and that you're never leaving again. Now, we just need to get you back in the CFD after the pregnancy…sorry, but I refuse to believe that this is the end for us. I'm sorry I didn't feel this way before, but I want to let you know that I'll support you through this journey for the rest of the pregnancy." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that, smiling as she liked the sound of that. So much, she slipped up Matt's chest and smiled as she bent down and kissed him softly. "I love you baby." Matt smiled, as he loves her too. "I love you too my babies. Just remember, this is the one and only time you're going to be pregnant…so try and enjoy it rather than have bad hormones."
Gabby laughed as Matt told her that, while also laying down on his chest and wrapping her arms around his torso. Meanwhile, Matt grabbed the covers and smiled as he tugged them up on top of the both of them. "Just a warning, I'm pretty gassy now that I'm pregnant." Wrapping his arm around Gabby's back, Matt looked down at his gorgeous wife. "And you couldn't have mentioned that before we got in bed?" Looking up at her husband, Gabby gave Matt a bit of side eye. "Would it really have mattered?" Matt shook his head, as he would've wanted to be in bed with her regardless. "No, because I want you here now and forever." Gabby smiled as she cuddled up to Matt in bed again, smiling as they both held each other close and just relaxed in the comfort of each other's arms. "I love you Matt. And I am so glad that we're in this together." Matt agreed with his wife, as he felt the same way. "The way it should've been in the first place." Gabby agreed with her husband, nodding as she knew that was the truth. "Talk later?" Matt nodded.
After which, he kissed the top of her head as they both prepared to take a nap with each other this morning. "Can you make me lunch when you wake up?" Nodding, Matt agreed with Gabby. "I can and will when I wake up." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling as she likes that idea. "Thanks baby." Smiling, Matt kissed the top of her head once more...continuing to do so until they fell asleep in each other's arms.
