Ben's grin stiffened when those words came out of his mouth. He has just realized that it was cringe right now. Fortunately no one else thought the same because they were too wary of Ben's next move, and they are all better than Ben when it comes to cringe.
Anyway, Ben resumed focusing on his battle and stretched his body a little before walking forward. Everyone gritted their teeth before they rush towards him. They can't let him make the first move because they knew they wouldn't be able to stop him.
Those who have powerful long range spells send them at Ben from their current positions. Ben just grinned before he covered both of his arms in fire. Then he placed his arms on his right side before lowering his body.
It was the same stance Natsu assumed when he used Dragon Slayer Secret Art against the Twin Dragons. Well, it's not the same stance. Ben is copying Natsu's spell but he used the fire produced by his Sun Dragon Slayer Magic, so it's actually a copy of Natsu's spell.
"Natsu did it like this right?" Ben grinned as he asked. "Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Sun Dragon Version! Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade!"
Ben swung his arms to the left while also spinning his body like Natsu. Then a spiraling flame that generated several explosions came out of his arms. This attack was a lot bigger and stronger than the one Natsu used during his battle with the Twin Dragons.
Ben's massive spell clashed with all the attacks that are aimed at him. The impact of the clash was so powerful that the entire city began to tremble. The shock wave also destroyed nearby buildings before spreading throughout the city.
All Fairy Tail mages that were still fighting stop for a moment because of the strong magic power they felt. They all knew it came from Ben's battle and their bodies are trembling because of it.
Their instincts are screaming to run right now even though they knew they weren't the targets. The same thing happened to the mages that were fighting Ben. They had a lot more fear though because they were his targets.
The mages saw Ben's fire engulf and destroy their combination attack. After that, the fire moved towards them, making them scatter to avoid it. A lot of them aren't able to escape though and were engulfed by the fire that kept moving and destroyed buildings until it reached the border of the city that is protected by barriers.
The destructive power of that attack left everyone dumbfounded. Ben basically destroyed the capital with a single attack. The citizens weren't worried because the royal family can rebuild the buildings for them, so it was for the citizens, but not for the royal family.
Though the royal family can't be bothered by it now. They've just fully realized exactly who they tried to mess with. Ben negotiated with them after the incident in the palace and came to a agreement. They felt relief that they made that deal now.
Back on the battlefield, Ben is seen scratching his head and smiling stiffly. He never thought the effect of his attack would be that great. That spell had a lot of power, but he thought it would be reduced after colliding with the mages' attacks.
However, Ben forgot that just because they attack at the same time, doesn't mean that their attacks are merging well. The attacks of people who had just started working together won't combine well. They are clashing against each other and it made their attacks weaker, making it easier for Ben's attack to destroy theirs.
Because of that strong attack, many mages were defeated. The only ones left were the ones who could evade or withstand that attack. Jura, Lyon, Ichiya, Kagura, Minerva, Orga and Sting are the only ones left. Both team Scarmiglione and team Quatro Cerberus were wiped out by that attack.
Ben had taken 23 people out of the battle and only 7 remain. He dominated this battle in an instant after he was done with his little test and decided to go on the offensive. It even made people wonder why he had been pushed back before because they didn't know he was just experimenting.
"So it's phase 2 now?" Ben asked while looking at the other seven mages with a smile.
The seven mages' expressions were quite complicated right now. They have fewer numbers than before which means that their attack power was reduced. Their attacks didn't even work well before, so it will be more difficult now.
Even though it will be easier to manage 7 people than 30 people, they've lost their strategist Rufus and communicator Hibiki. It will be more difficult to work together despite them having fewer people. Their chance of winning dropped significantly.
"Everyone, even if our chance is very low and we will most likely lose, we shouldn't give up. It is not shameful to lose to a great mage, but it is a great shame to give up just because we think we will lose. I don't know about you, but I haven't given up." Jura said as he recreated his stone armor.
Jura then rushed towards Ben followed by Lyon, Ichiya and Kagura. The four of them thought the same thing while Sting and Orga look at Minerva first. Minerva hesitated for a moment which was a big mistake. You shouldn't hesitate even for a moment while fighting Ben.
"What are you thinking so deeply about?" Ben asked after suddenly appearing behind Minerva.
Minerva's eyes widened and he jumped to the front out of reflex. She looked back, but Ben had disappeared and appeared behind her again. Ben then grabbed her head and slammed her face into the ground really hard.
He doesn't hesitate to even hurt a woman if she is his enemy. Besides, he's still not satisfied with the punishment Laxus handed out after she hurt Lucy. He's holding back though by just slamming her face into the ground instead of using his strong spells.
"I told you that you shouldn't mess with my guild. Yet you foolishly decided to hurt my friend in front of me. Laxus taught you a little lesson, so I will do this much." Ben said before he threw Minerva over to Sting who rushed to his location with Orga.
Sting caught Minerva and Orga was approached by Ben in a near instant. Orga had prepared his Lightning God Slayer Magic in his arms. He had also prepared himself for Ben's speed, so he unleashed his attack as soon as he saw Ben.
The big black beam of lightning hit Ben and engulfed him. But then a thin yellow laser beam pierced the big black beam of lightning and hit Orga's body. That thin laser generated a massive explosion that also hit Minerva and Sting who were close to Orga.
Those three were taken out leaving only Jura, Lyon, Ichiya and Kagura who couldn't reach his position at that time. They didn't stop running even though those three had been defeated. Those three weren't their guild mates so they really don't care.
The only thing that mattered now is attacking Ben. It's almost impossible to defeat him now after he got serious. Still, they don't want to go down without a fight, because in their minds, giving up is worse than being defeated fairly.
Ben answered their wish and started attacking them. He started with Kagura who he doesn't really know. Ben dashed towards her at a fast, but not super fast speed, so she can see him. She slashed at Ben with her sword, but he caught it with his bare hand, repeating what Mira did during her battle with Kagura.
Kagura isn't surprised anymore. She just sighed before receiving a blow to the stomach that knocked her out. Right after that, Ichiya's Armpit Perfume smell lingered in the air. It's a very stinky smell that became worse for Ben because his nose was extremely sensitive.
So Ben immediately dashed at Ichiya and threw a strong uppercut to knock him out with a pissed off expression. Jura and Lyon were glad he targeted Ichiya next because the smell affected them as well, preventing them from attacking Ben.
Ben didn't waste any time and defeated the stunned Jura and Lyon with Sun Dragon Wing Attack. He swipes his arms that are coated in golden solar energy at the opponent. He made sure it was really strong so it could take Jura and Lyon out at the same time.
Ben then pinched his nose with an annoyed expression. "Damn, he sure knows how to piss people off."
