Outtake 1

"Why do people have sex?" Fairy Godmother asks. Her smile is already strained and partly defeated, before any of them even open their mouths to answer.

Mal wonders why she bothers asking when she knows she's going to hate the answer. She doesn't hold anything against the good fairy (anymore- and for the most part), but she kind of wants to see how long it will take her to break.

It hasn't existed for more than a week, and Mal already loves this class.

"Money, shelter" Carlos immediately starts to list. It really is a no brainer.

"Protection," Evie inputs, and then it's like a game as they all try to show how not ignorant they are (on this topic at least).

"Cause they don't have a gang to protect them."

"Because humans have an inborn biological drive to reproduce."

"One of their parents sold them."

"Because it feels fucking great."

"Boredom."

"Battle-lust."

"Evie looks so cute just before-"

"-Yeah, yeah, the way she gets all red and makes those little gasping sounds-"

"Okay! Okay!" Fairy Godmother finally breaks in. Her pale face is suddenly puce instead. She takes a deep breath before letting it out. It's several seconds before she continues. Mal widens her eyes in interest.

She knows it's probably not like that in Auradon.

"Sex, the way it's supposed to be," Fairy Godmother lectures in that voice that says she doesn't think very much of their intellect (it's gotten better the past few months, but every now and then, when they say something wrong that would be readily apparent to someone who grew up in Auradon, it makes another appearance), "is supposed to be between two people who love each other very much. The way you have learned it- the way the Isle has defiled it, is wrong. It is a sacred act. One that should only be done if both participants are willing, and care very deeply for each other. You should not be so blase in talking about such an intimate moment with one of your partners."

Outtake 2

"So, someone tell me what you know about the different kinds of protection," Fairy Godmother begins that day's particular lesson.

Mal scrunches her nose. "Well, there's safety in numbers. And being the baddest person around, but that was on the Isle. You Auradon people get all squirrely when we bring out knives. Are you talking politically or physically?"

All the blood drains from their teacher's face. It's amusing, but also a bit concerning the way she sways. "Against pregnancy! Protection against pregnancy! You all have been having unprotected sex?"

"Talking about our sex lives is not appropriate," Evie chimes, looking very self-satisfied. They covered that in their lesson yesterday.

"Relax FG," Jay snorts, "No period, no baby, and Mal and Evie have only just started getting theirs. We already learned this!"

Mal is actually kind of proud of him for paying attention in class. Though, of course he would when the topic is fucking. He's always interested in that (at least, when it involves their Gang).

Fairy Godmother still looks like she's going to faint, but she draws a strength from some magical dimension to smile at them. It's actually a very strained, very fake looking smile, and Mal sits up further in interest.

Outtake 3

"Mal," Fairy Godmother calls just after the bell rings, but before she can start packing away her books. "A moment, please? Evie too."

"Yeah, sure." Mal shoves the rest of her books into her bag and plops down on one of the desks. Fairy Godmother doesn't say anything when the boys patiently remain in their seats, despite having to get to Tourney practice.

"Well, you see," Fairy Godmother frets, twisting her fingers together as her brow furrows in concern. Fairy Godmother might be the easiest person to read in Auradon. Mal normally struggles reading emotions. "Does King Ben know about your, ah, relations with your friends?"

Mal scrunches up her face to project her confusion. Learning to not guard her emotions is just as difficult as reading them on other people. "I think so. I mean he knows we're Gang, so he should. Why- what does that even matter?"

Fairy Godmother hesitates a moment. "Well, I think there might be a bit of a cultural confusion. See, here in Auradon, if someone is dating someone, they don't go sleeping around. They dedicate their bodies to that one person. What you are doing with your friends- that would be considered cheating if you didn't explicitly talk about it beforehand. I think you need to have a frank conversation with Ben." She spares a glance at Evie as Mal's stomach twists into something uncomfortable. "And you should talk to Doug, sweetie."

"Cheating," Mal repeats slowly. "That's… that's bad here. How bad?"

"Most would see it as a betrayal, dear. But you didn't know. Ben will understand that. Just talk to him."

Mal's heart drops to her feet. A betrayal. Betrayal is expected on the Isle, but since it's expected, it's not really betrayal at all. The only time betrayal actually happens is if there is trust. And trust only exists in Gangs. Not gangs little 'g.' Gangs big 'G.' Gangs like her, Carlos, Evie, and Jay.

Real betrayal is… devastating- both internally and outwardly.

A/N: Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any lesson ideas you think I should expand on. Probably not going to do a Doug and Evie chapter. Don't know that I can get in the mindset of writing Doug.
