Chapter 8: Night Terror:
Simba's POV:
I was having this dream where my Father was falling into that wildebeest stampede and I saw Scar laughing... but it wasn't Scar... it was Kovu! I then woke up.
Singer/Chorus: I woke up and he was screaming
I'd left him dreaming
I roll over and shake him tightly
And whisper, "If they want you, oh, they're gonna have to fight me"
Oh, fight me
I woke up on a bench on Shepherd's Bush Green
Oh, a candle at my chest and a head on his knee
I got up, it was dark, there's no one in the park at this hour
How do I keep finding myself here?
Oh, fight me
If I look back and he is screaming
I'd left him dreaming, a dangerous feat
And I'll run back and shake him tightly
And scream, "If they want him, oh, they're gonna have to fight me"
Oh, fight me
But if I wake up on a bench on Shepherd's Bush Green
A candle at my chest and a head on his knee
I'll roll over and hold him tightly
And scream, "If you want him, oh, you're gonna have to fight me"
Oh, fight me
Oh, fight me!
I don't know what I'm going to do.
. . .
There I was, thinking... Maybe I am misjudging him... sure, he kind of looks like Scar... but so what? On the other hand, he's been raised by Zira... and her kids haven't been known to be alright... but maybe we can help him be better than them... on the other hand... wait, what's a hand?
"Sire," says Zazu, "I... should let you know... I asked Ono and Anga to watch over Kovu."
"Oh... well... thank you for telling me," I said, "not so sure about him either, huhh?"
"Whenever he's alone... I swear there's fire around him, but... it never lasts long... I think there's something... unnatural going on!"
"I know who can help," I said.
. . .
"So, should I trust him," I asked. I was hoping my Father would give me some advice and... nothing. "Thanks a lot!" I wish I knew how this worked.
Mufasa's POV:
"Why don't you help him out," asks my Father.
"He has to figure this out on his own," I said.
"Sure... before you helped him, he ran away from home, thinking he killed you, and lived with two bug-eating slackers!"
"Well... I did get him back on the right path," I said.
"Your evil brother had to tell him who really killed you!"
"You never trusted my ways," I said.
"Maybe if you stopped trusting your son's ways, you can tell him whether or not that Kovu cub is a good boy, but you'd rather him figure it out himself! We both know that's not going to go well!"
"Can't talk, I'm going to another cloud!" I then leaped away.
"We are not finished here!"
