"Are you sure about this Sensei? This sounds like a really bad idea..." Deku said, his voice trembling.
"I know Eri would be better off being watched by someone who's gentle and caring like you Midoriya, but this would be the perfect learning opportunity for Bakugo. He needs to learn how to be more nurturing to children if he's going to be a hero one day." Mr. Aizawa explains.
"I'm sorry to disagree with you sir...But Kacchan isn't really the nurturing type..and well, little Eri is still suffering from PTSD from what happened to her last year. I really don't recommend you go through with this." Deku begs hoping that Mr. Aizawa would reconsider.
"The rest of the class will be leaving tomorrow to go on a field trip. Since Bakugo is on house arrest from fighting with Todoroki again, he will be the only one here that can watch Eri. For the past year she's been in and out of therapy sessions so there's no need to worry. I promise everything will be fine. This will be a good learning experience for him." Mr. Aizawa says as he gets up from his desk.
"Alright. I just hope this works out the way you're planning it will." Deku mutters out even though he still feels like Bakugo needs supervision.
Early the next morning.
"I HAVE TO DO WHAT?!" Bakugo yells while all the other students pack their bags and get them on the bus.
"Since you are on house arrest you are the only one available to watch Eri while we are away." Said Aizawa.
"BUT I DONT KNOW ONE THING ABOUT BABYSITTING! WHY CANT MIRIO DO IT?!" Bakugo yells standing tensely in the doorway.
"Mirio is with his family this weekend and can't make it. Besides, this will be a good learning experience for you. You need to learn to control your tempter. Watching Eri will teach you how to be more caring and nurturing. There will come a time when you have to comfort those you save when you become a pro hero. It's not just about beating up villains." Mr. Aizawa explains.
Bakugo's eye starts to twitch from irritation. He'd honestly rather spend two weeks with his annoying mother than to sit here watching some kid he hardly even knew.
"FINE! BUT DONT COMPLAIN IF I BLOW THIS!" Bakugo growls with his arms crossed, standing at the entrance to the dorms.
"Eri is alseep in her room. She should be up soon. There's a list on the fridge that tells you what you need to do. I'm trusting you Bakugo so be nice to her. She's been though a lot." Mr. Aizawa says as he picks up his bags and heads for the bus.
"Yeah whatever..." Bakugo mumbles.
After everyone leaves, Bakugo makes his way back inside the house slamming the door behind him.
Mr. Aizawa then joins everyone on the bus as they all drive off.
"This is bullshit. I dont know one thing about babysitting. What am I even supposed to do with her?" Bakugo then sees the list in the fridge when he walks into the kitchen.
"Number one..make breakfast. What do kids even like to eat?"
Bakugo starts going through the cabinets and the fridge trying to find something to make. It wasn't long before Eri awoke in her bed to the yummy smell of bacon and eggs in the air.
Rubbing the sleepiness from her eyes, she quietly makes her way to the main floor and peeks her head around the corner expecting to see Mr. Aizawa making breakfast. When she sees that it was Bakugo she hesitates on going into the kitchen. After hearing about his rage issues and witnessing some of his tantrums, being around him didn't exactly make her feel comfortable or safe.
Bakugo notices her out of his prefreal vision and then speaks up.
"If you're hungry then go wait at the table..breakfast will be finished in a few minutes."
Eri looks surprised that Bakugo was up making breakfast. Normally Bakugo only cooks for himself and doesn't like to share. Now suddenly he's making her something?
"Where's...daddy?" She asks in a soft voice.
"They're all on a field trip. they'll be back in two days. So I'm your babysitter until then." Bakugo grumbles.
Eri then whimpers and makes her way to the table and sits down twiddling her thumbs. She didn't want Bakugo as a babysitter. Why couldn't she have gotten Deku instead? She remains quiet until Bakugo brings over her plate of food and sits down to eat with her.
She slowly takes her first bite of bacon while watching Bakugo eat and stare down at his phone.
After scrolling on social media for a while, Bakugo looks up from his phone and over at Eri once he had finished eating. She hadn't said a word the entire time they've been sitting there.
"Why are you so quiet?" Bakugo asks, while seeing the child tense up from the sound of his voice.
Eri didn't say anything she just shook her head, acting as if she didn't want to speak.
"Fine..I wont force it out of you. Give me you're plate if you're done."
Eri gently handed over her plate to Bakugo. As he washed the dishes and Eri took off to use the bathroom. She had been holding it all morning after all. Afterwards Eri went back to her room to try and change out of her pajamas.
Bakugo was looking at the list to see what he was supposed to do next.
"Get her dressed and make sure she brushes her teeth. Then give her her cough medicine. She's still getting over her cold. For warning, she has a slight issue with taking medication. So be calm." Bakugo reads then looks up annoyed.
"Of course.."
As Bakugo goes to find Eri, he finds her struggling to put on her cat sweater that Mr. Aizawa had bought for her.
"It's not that hard to put on a sweater kid." Bakugo walks up to her and pulls her trapped arm through the sleeve.
"Sorry.." Eri says looking up at Bakugo surprised that he helped her. She was thankful but also felt bad for not being able to dress herself.
"Alright, now go Brush your teeth and meet me in the kitchen." Bakugo orders.
"I... I..already brushed when I went to the potty earlier.." Eri says.
"Good, then it's time to give you your medicine. Mr. Aizawa said you have to take it. So don't give me any problems." Bakugo says looking down at the now terrified girl.
Bakugo grabs Eri's arm, but she immediately jerks it back and backs away from him. "What's your deal?" Bakugo asks looking back at Eri. Eri stood there trembling with her hands clenched. She stared down at the floor refusing eye contact.. She then just shakes her head no like she did earlier, still not wanting to speak. Bakugo rolls his eyes, not wanting to deal with this. "Then stop acting weird. Let's go." Bakugo tries to grab her hand again and leads her to the kitchen. On the way there Bakugo could feel Eris little hand trembling in his tight grip. He also felt her hand sweating profusely. He then looks back at her and sees her eyes clenched shut and her head tilted down at the floor.
Once they get to the kitchen. Eri continues to remain quiet as Bakugou gets the medicine down from the cabinet. He then picks her up and sits her down on the counter staring her in the eyes. Eri refueses to make eye contact with him because she was scared. "Why are you trembling?" Bakugo asks feeling slightly concerned.
But Eri refuses to respond.
Bakugo then let's out an annoyed sigh and fills up the serenge with the appropriate amount of medicine.
"Alright, now open up." Bakugo orders getting the medicine closer to the trembling girl.
Eri ignores Bakugos orders and just sits there whimpering.
"I said open up." Bakugo asks sternly.
"I...don't want it..." Eri whimpers out. Finally speaking to the frustrated blonde.
"Eri come on..I dont have the patience for this..just take your medicine!" Bokugo says starting to raise his voice a little.
Eri gets startled and attempts to jump off the counter but Bakugou grabs ahold of her right arm to hold her in place.
"No...Please..." Eri begins to panic and bursts into tears as she sits there struggling against Bakugous grip.
"If you don't want to tell me what your deal is then fine, but you're not leaving this counter top until you take this medicine! Now open up!" Bakugo yells having to pinch the girls nose to force her to open her mouth. Since she was unable to breathe through her nose, after a few seconds, Eri's mouth pops open to take in oxygen, giving Bakugo his chance.
After Bakugo shoots the medicine down her throat, Eri starts to choke a little from accidentally inhaling some of it.
"Now was that so hard?" Bakugo asks as he walks away to put the serenge in the sink.
Instead of attempting to get off the counter and flee, She just sits there holding her throat while the last few tears run down her face.
Once Bakugo finishes rinsing off the serenge he goes to pick Eri up to help her off the counter but she flinches at him when she feels the sensation of his touch and gasps.
At this point Bakugo had had it with her acting like this. He wanted to know what was going on and wanted to know right now.
"Eri, look at me.."Bakugo asks angrily, startling the girl.
"Don't make me ask again."
Eri then force's herself to look up at Bakugo who looks pissed.
"It's obvious you are scared of me..now tell me why?" Bakugo asks. But Eri looks away and remains silent.
Bakugo then grabs her face forcing her to look up at him.
"Eri I'm not playing this game with you all damn weekend. You're going to tell me what's wrong! How am I supposed to help if you don't talk to me?"
"Please.. stop..l-let me go..." Eri whimpers as she tries to get out of Bakugos grip.
Bakugo growls then picks the girl up by her shirt and let's her down. He then walks her to the living room and places her down on the couch to cut on some cartoons.
"Just watch cartoons.. I'll be back in a few minutes." Bakugo says leaving Eri all by herself.
Bakugo then sighs and pulls out his phone dialing Mr. Aizawas number but unfortunately it went to voicemail.
"Damnit..." He says getting annoyed as he walks down the hall towards his room. He was hoping to get some advice but apparently that'll have to wait.
Before he gets to his door, he hears the bathroom door click shut which puts him on high alert since nobody but the two of them is supposed to be here.
"The hell?" Bakugo quietly makes his way over to the bathroom wanting to break the door down but Instead he listens closely to hear if there was movement, which there was.
Without hesitation Bakugo kicks the door in breaking the door frame.
"Who the hell is in here?!" Then..to his surprise..he sees Deku who's about to take a potty break looking up at him terrified.
Bakugo freaks out
"WHAT THE HELL?! WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" Bakugo yells.
"CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS AFTER I FINISH PEE-" Deku is then cut off..
"HAVE YOU BEEN HERE THIS WHOLE TIME?! DID YOU STAY BEHIND SO YOU COULD SPY ON ME?! DID SENSEI SET THIS UP OR DID YOU SNEAK AWAY?! I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION DEKU!!!!"
Eri hears the yelling from the living room and decides to go see what's going on.
"KACCHAN CALM DOWN! YOURE BEING WAY TOO LOUD! YOU MIGHT END UP SCARING ERI!!!" Deku yells
"THAT BRATS BEEN SCARED OF ME THIS WHOLE TIME! WHICH IS WHY IM NOT THE RIGHT PERSON TO TAKE CARE OF HER! YOU THINK THAT AS WELL OTHERWISE YOU WOULDN'T BE SPYING ON ME! SO WHY DONT I JUST LEAVE AND LET YOU TAKE OVER?! THE KID WOULD BE HAPPIER IF I DID ANYWAYS."
"Wait Kacchan!!!!"
As Bakugo goes to leave.. he turns around and sees Eri standing behind him with a sad look on her face. She was holding onto the blue blanket that she took from the couch.
Bakugo's face goes from irritated to soft when he sees the girls sad expression
"I'm..sorry for acting this way. This is my fault."
Bakugo let's out an annoyed sigh then crosses his arms.
"Yeah well if you'd just tell me what's wrong then I wouldn't be so aggravated with you. I hate having to dig for answers. It's annoying. So if you're not going to talk, then I'm leaving you here with someone you'll be more comfortable with."
Bakugo waits to give Eri a chance to speak up. After about two minutes of silence she finally gets the courage to talk since Deku was there.
"I -It's because of how you are with your friends.. you're always yelling..a-and screaming..and you hurt Deku all the time. So..I was worried that if I upset you..then you might hurt me.." Eri says in a squeaky voice.
Deku looks over at Eri from behind Bakugo
"Eri..." he whispers out.
But before Deku can say anything more, Bakugo cuts him off again.
"First off, they're not my friends. And secondly.."
Bakugo gets down on one knee so he can look Eri in the eyes.
"I'm harsh with the nerd because I know he can take it. Sometimes he deserves to be roughed up a little because he's a pain in my ass. But I can't call myself a hero if I was known for hurting little kids. I don't need a title like that ruining my reputation."
"Yeah..Kacchan has some anger issues but he's never hurt a child before. So there's no need to worry Eri. Once you get used to him he's not so bad." Deku says with a smile.
"Are you sure?" Eri asks seeking reassurance from Deku.
"Definitely. Everything will be ok Eri. Just give him a chance." Deku says.
Eri didn't look too trustworthy of the situation, but if Deku said to try, then she was going to do her best.
"Okay...I'll try.."
Eri then leaves and goes back into the living room to watch cartoons.
Deku then tries to close the bathroom door so he could relieve his bladder. But before he can, the door gets caught by Bakugos foot.
"Hey, thanks for your help. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN STAY HERE AND SPY ON ME!! SO ONCE YOU GET DONE I WANT YOU OUT OF MY SIGHT!! I CAN WATCH THE BRAT WITHOUT YOUR LOUSY ASSISTANCE!!"
Deku is startled by his yelling while trying his best to keep from having an accident on the floor.
"Y-yes Kacchan!!"
"Damn nerd..."
Bakugo then walks away and lets Deku shut the door.
After Deku had finished using the bathroom. He packed up a suitcase and made his way down to the common area where Bakugo was sitting near Eri while she watched cartoons.
Eri hears Dekus suitcase rolling on the floor and turns to look at him.
"Alright. I'm going to my moms until the feild trip is over. If you need anything then call me and I'll be right over!" Deku says as he heads for the door.
Once Eri realized he was leaving anxiety began rushing causing her to get scared again.
"Wait.." Eri gets off the couch and runs after him before his hand could even touch the door.
"Why are you leaving?" She asks worriedly.
"I'm going to go spend a few days with my mother so that you and Kacchan can have lots of fun together." Deku says smiling.
"But..but you can't leave.." Eri begins to tear up.
Bakugo can hear the sadness and fear in her voice so he looks up from his phone and over at the trembling child.
"I promise everything will be ok Eri. There is nothing you need to worry about. You're going to have lots of fun with Kacchan. Then before you know it everyone will be back home together." Deku says as his hand turns the doorknob.
"I promise you you'll have a good time. I'll see you later ok?" Deku then goes to walk out the door but is stopped by the feeling of the small child grabbing onto his left leg.
Deku looks down at Eri who's trembling with a death grip on his pants.
"Take me with you.." Eri whimpers out.
Deku then looks over at Bakugo who knows exactly what he's about to say.
"Don't even think about it nerd."
Bakugo gets up and walks over to Eri.
He then grips the back of her shirt and pulls her off of Dekus leg.
"Kacchan maybe this isn't a good idea.."
"Leave. I can handle the kid." Bakugo says who's still holding Eri by the collar of her shirt.
Eri is looking up at Deku with tears prickling her eyes. So he gets down on one knee and gives her a right hug.
"Eri, there's no need to be afraid. Kacchan is a good person. And I promise I wouldnt be leaving you if I knew you were in any kind of danger. He won't hurt you. So, why don't you show me that famous sweet little Eri smile?"
Eri still feels scared but for Deku, she forces a grin across her face.
"That's more like it. Now I really must get going. You guys have fun ok?"
Once the door shuts Bakugo let's go of the girl and looks down at her.
"I thought you said you were going to give me a chance?" Bakugo asks.
Eri anxiously looks up at Bakugos crimson red eyes and forces herself to respond.
"I'm sorry.. I felt more like i could when Deku was around." Eri says hoping her comment wouldn't upset Bakugo
Bakugo then walks over towards the couch and picks up a pillow.
"What are you doing?" Eri asks fearfully.
Bakugo grips the pillow then gives the girl a scowl. He remembered a game him and Deku used to play all the time when they were kids. So he felt that it would help lift the mood a little.
"I'm over the drama...JUST FUCKING SMILE LIKE A NORMAL KID ALREADY!!!"
Bakugo smacks Eri on the side of the head with the pillow which causes her to fall over.
She then looks up at Bakugo unsure on what's happening.
Bakugo then picks up another pillow and throws it at Eri.
"It's called a pillow fight. It's something kids do at sleepovers for fun. So pick up the pillow and beat me with it until you feel better!!"
"A...pillow fight?" Eri questions right before Bakugo smacks her on the head again with another pillow.
"Well.. what are you waiting for? Are you just going to sit there while I murder you?! Defend yourself!"
As Bakugo goes to swing his pillow again, he misses her head because Eri had ducked down, grabbed her pillow and ran inbewteen his legs.
Just when Bakugo thinks he's going to have to chase her down, he turns around and gets hit with Eri's pillow.
She had raced behind him then threw her pillow at him while his back was still turned.
"Come on..that hit felt like a marshmallow kissed me on the neck! I know you can do better than that!!!!"
Eri watches as the tall explosive boy runs in her direction. So she picks up another pillow from the couch and takes off running. "AHHHHH!!" She screams.
~what is the purpose of this game? Why are we beating each other with pillows? Why is this supposed to be fun?!~
Eri is lost in thought as she races around the living room trying to avoid Bakugo.
The game goes on for about 25 minutes. Eri continues to dodge Bakugo's hits and she even manages to hit him a few good times. At first the game seemed strange to Eri until Bakugo had accidentally tripped on the living room rug and fell to the floor.
As Bakugo sat up and rubbed his aching back he heard a very faint chuckle come from Eri.
He then looks up and sees her grinning.
But the moment she notices him staring, she quickly hides her smile behind her pillow.
Bakugo grins and gets up off the floor.
"So, you think my pain is funny?" He asks with a smirk.
"I -I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to laugh...I .." Eri began to panic assuming Bakugo was angry.
"Stop panicking. I'm not mad at you." Bakugo says petting Eri on the head.
"You're not?" Eri asks.
"If you tell anyone i had a pillow fight like a schcool girls slumber party I'll kick your ass." Bakugo says.
Eri then smiles a little..
"Thank you for the pillow fight..Bakigo.." Eri says mispronouncing his name.
Bakugo then feels his phone buzzing in his pocket. When he checks it he sees it's from his mom.
"I'm going to head to my room for a few minutes. You can go to your room and play or do whatever you want. I'll check up on you in a few?"
"Okay.." Eri says racing towards her room.
Bakugo then dials his mother's number and waits for her to pick up. What could she want?
Slight trigger warning if anyone has issues with belts. Also some cussing*
"Katsuki next time I ask you to call me you better not keep me waiting!!" Yelled his mother.
"I'm busy! What do you want?!"
"Your younger cousin is staying over this weekend and I got called to come into work."
"So what? He's thirteen years old. Just leave him home." Bakugo suggests.
"You and I both know he's going through a difficult phase right now and he can't be left alone without causing trouble." Mitsuki argues.
"So that means I get stuck with him?! No way that kid is a real brat! I already have my hands full with Eri! So figure something else out!" Bakugo yells clenching his fists.
"I'll be over in ten minutes to drop him off! You better not cause me any problems Katsuki! I'm out of options!"
After his mother hangs up Bakugo's blood starts boiling. He hated his cousin because he always enjoyed pushing his buttons. And because of Eri's trust issues with him, he didn't feel comfortable bringing his mean cousin around.
Afterwards Bakugo makes his way up to Eri's room to explain what was going on. He felt that warning her ahead of time would help her prepare herself just in case things got out of hand.
(Knock knock knock)
"COME IN!" Eri yells as she puts down her dolls.
Bakugo walks into the girls room and cringes at how pink it is.
"Bakigo! Do you want to play dolls?" Eri asks.
"No, we need to talk." He says picking a spot on the floor to sit.
Fear creeps up on Eri for she thought she had done something wrong.
"Don't give me that look, you didn't do anything. So calm down." He mutters.
"Then what's wrong?" Eri asks.
"My cousin Sen is going to have to stay with us tonight. So it's important that you try to stay away from him until he leaves."
"But why?" Eri asks.
"Sens a bit of a jerk. He's very mean and plays rough. I don't want him scaring you or hurting you. If anything happens to you your dad will have my head."
"So, I'm supposed to stay in my room all night long by myself?" Eri asks.
"No, you can come out if you want. Just stick close to me when you do. Sen knows not to push my buttons too much or else.."
"Or esle what?" Eri asks.
"Don't worry about it. How about you show me what all you have in your room."
Bakugo didn't care about anything she honestly had. He just knew that would take Eri's mind off of Sen and the conversation for a while. But Sen wasn't his only concern. It was the fact that when Sen is around, Bakugo has a hard time keeping a cool head and holding back. He knew having Sen around would be a problem. But he couldn't just lock Eri away, and he couldn't leave Sen all by himself. So he'd have to make this work. Somehow..
Once Sen was dropped off Bakugo let him into the building while watching his mother speed off to work. "Bitch." Bakugo mumbles under his breath being extremely disrespectful.
Bakugo gave Sen an irritated look when he noticed the boy had completely changed his look to copy Bakugo.
His hair was spiked and dyed black to look cooler. And he wore a skull pattern black shirt and black shorts. He also had black eyeliner on.
"So you decided to dress like an emo version of me?" Bakugo asks.
"Excuse me scag but my look is way cooler than you'll ever be! And this isn't your look! Lots of emo kids wear black clothing with skulls you idiot! You out of all people should know that since your own mother is some fashion crazed maniac." Sen says with a smirk purposely trying to piss off Bakugo.
Bakugo's vein pops on his head. "Do you even know what Scag means?!" He desperately wanted to take this kids head off, but right as he was about to, Eri walked up behind Sen.
He then senses someone behind him.
Bakugo gets nervous when Sen turns around and eyes the young girl looking up at him holding a small cup.
"..can you get me some apple juice?" Eri asks.
"Man I didn't think you'd be a father at this age, but I supposed everyone makes mistakes. I always knew you'd fail at life." Sen says.
Bakugo began to sweat from holding in all his anger. But he still managed to keep a calm voice.
"This is Eri, and I'm not her father. I'm her babysitter. And since you're older, maybe you should try setting a good example like a big boy instead of acting like a little bitch ass!" Bakugo fusses.
Bakugo walks past Sen and takes Eri to the kitchen.
"Hmph..." Sen says as he walks over to the couch. He then spots the tv remote and gets a devious idea that'll for sure get Bakugo's attention.
"Here you go." Bakugo says after getting Eri her juice.
Right as Eri was leaving the kitchen, she hears Sen yelling out for her.
"Hey Eri!! Wanna see something cool I found on tv?!"
Once Bakugo heard those words escape his cousins mouth, he drops the juice on the counter and races in Eri's direction.
"SEN!" He yells.
Eri let's out a scream when she sees the blood thirsty monster devouring some kid on the tv.
"You see? Aren't monsters cool? I heard they hide under your bed and wait till you go to sleep. Then that's when they come out to play!" Sen says.
Eri is crying with her hands over her ears when Bakugo grabs her from behind. The sudden physical contact after being startled sends her into a panic attack.
"Stop crying damnit. Monsters aren't real!" Bakugo says while rubbing the panicked girl on the back and holding her in his arms.
Bakugo looks at Sen with fierce eyes as he holds Eri in his arms trying to calm her.
"What? You said to set a good example. So I introduced her to something really cool." Sen says knowing what he did was wrong.
"Stay here, and don't move!" Bakugo leaves with Eri and heads up to her room. He sets her down on her bed and cuts on the little tv on her dresser. He turned it to some channel with colorful teddy bears dancing around.
"Here, watch whatever this crap is while I have a chat with Sen." Bakugo says.
"No! Please don't leave me alone!" Eri panics begging for Bakugo to stay.
"Like i said there's no monster in this building. This is why I wanted you to stay away from Sen. Don't leave this room Eri." Bakugo explains as he makes his way over to Eri's bedroom door.
"I'm sorry...I didnt listen..it-it's all my fault." Eri cries.
Bakugo let's out an annoyed sigh.
"It's not your fault so stop with that. Just stay here." Bakugo says.
Eri nods and clings onto her blanket as she watches Bakugo leave her room.
When he makes his way back down the elevator and into the hall, he sees his bedroom door was wide open.
"What the hell?" Bakugo races towards his room and sees Sen going through his personal stuff.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING IN HERE?!" He yells slamming his bedroom door shut.
"You left and I got bored. I gotta say i figured you'd have more interesting things in here. You're room is really boring." Sen says still going through his nightstand.
Sen then finds Bakugo's collectible All Might figure and pulls it out of the drawer.
"No way, you're still into this guy? How lame. How could you like someone that's such an annoying show off. Wait till the family hears you still collect dolls." He says as he throws the figure on the ground carelessly causing the rare collectible to break.
This caused Bakugo to lose his cool
He grabs Sen by the back of his shirt and snatches him backwards and away from his nightstand causing him to fall on his ass.
"DIDN'T YOUR PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR PARENTS TEACH YOU THAT ITS IMPOLITE TO GO THROUGH OTHER PEOPLES SHIT?!" Bakugo yells at the young boy laying on the floor.
Sen begins to pull himself up when Bakugo pushes him back into a corner the second he gets to his feet.
"STOP PUSHING ME!" Sen yells.
"Then stop being a little bitch!! You've done nothing but cause issues since you got here!" Bakugo yells getting closer to Sen.
"I mean it Back off and Stop!" Sen tries to push Bakugo back off him. He didn't like being cornered and the angry blonde was making him a bit claustrophobic.
"Stop? You want me to stop? Like when i asked you to stop tormenting Eri?" Bakugo yells practically spitting in the kids face.
"Weird that you're suddenly fond of a child! I remember you used to hate kids! Guess the badass has gone soft!" Sen Teases.
Even though Sen wasn't too phased by Bakugo's temper, he was still soaking up the attention.
"I'M NOT SOFT! I WAS FORCED TO WATCH THE DAMN KID! ITS NOT LIKE I WANTED TO SPEND MY WEEKEND STUCK PLAYING NANNY! AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, THAT OLD HAG JUST HAD TO DUMP YOU INTO MY CARE!! WHAT KIND OF PATHETIC TEENAGER NEEDS A FUCKING BABYSITTER? IF YOU THINK YOU'RE ALL THAT YOU'RE NOT! YOU'RE A BLOODY EMBARRASSMENT! " Bakugo yells.
That actually had hurt Sen. Even if he didn't show it on his face, Bakugo actually managed to cut him a little.
"Well I'd rather be here torturing you than be stuck with your boring mother. It's fun seeing you blow a fuse over stupid shit! Even after all these years you're still too weak minded to handle insults from a child. You're so easily influenced by children Im even convinced a toddler could set you off! I wonder how mad you'll need to get before you actually have an aneurism." Sen says still pushing Bakugo's buttons.
Sen looks up into Bakugo's flaming red eyes and suddenly realizes he's pushing him too far.
Sen yelps as Bakugo snatches the front of his shirt and harshly throws him into the wall.
"You wanna know what your fucking issue is?! Your parents didn't love you enough to put forth any effort into disciplining you!! Thats why you grew up to be such a disrespectful piece of shit!!! You're not tough. You're not badass like you think you are! You try to get under my skin instead of dealing with your fucking issues yourself."
Sen starts to get angry with Bakugo revealing too much about him. He was cutting into wounds that he wasn't ready to open. "You think you know everything but you don't! There's nothing wrong with me! You're just a dick Katsuki!"
There's a quiet pause for a minute. Bakugo couldn't believe what his cousin had just called him. "A dick huh?" Bakugo asks, giving Sen a a very serious glare.
"You heard me." Sen says fearlessly.
Sen watches nervously as Bakugo opens his dresser and searches for something.
"What the hell are you doing?" Sen asks nervously.
Sen loses all color in his face when he sees Bakugo pull out a belt. It actually triggered him by giving him flashbacks of his dad beating him. "You're gonna learn one way or another." Bakugo says in a low serious tone as he glares into Sens fearful eyes expressionless.
"Don't- don't even think about hitting me with that thing!!! You wouldn't abuse a kid!" Sen yells slowly inching his way over to the door.
"Oh have I struck fear? Scared of belts are we? Where's that tough kid at all of a sudden?" Bakugo asks snapping the belt on his left hand. "And it's not called abuse, it's called discipline."
"No..stay away!!" Sen races for the door but is quickly stopped by Bakugo harshly grabbing his wrist and twisting him around, folding one arm behind his back.
He then drags him over to the wall and pushes him against it with such force that his face was all smushed and it was a bit hard to breathe. That ended up getting a whimper out of him.
"Oh shit? Is that tears i hear?" Bakugo yells.
Right as Bakugo is about to bring the belt down on Sen, he comes to a halt when he hears a loud gasp and Sen finally break down. Which is what he was trying to get him to do. He wasn't actually planning to hit Sen. He just wanted to make him think he was to get him to drop the tough guy act he's had all these years. There was a method to his madness even when he's pissed.
"STOP! PLEASE BAKUGO! I GIVE UP ALRIGHT!! YOU WIN! IM SORRY FOR BEING A JERK!! IM SORRY FOR SCARING ERI!! I JUST MISS HAVING YOU AROUND AND MY LIFES A PIECE OF SHIT!! AFTER YOU STARTED JUNIOR HIGH, YOU DIDN'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH ME ANYMORE!! YOU WERE MY ESCAPE! SO I THOUGHT THAT IF I WAS COOLER THAN YOU, THEN YOU'D WANT TO HANG AROUND ME AGAIN!! BUT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ME OR ANYONE ELSE OTHER THAN YOURSELF JUST LIKE MY PARENTS!!! SO WHATS THE POINT!!" Sen cries out, tears water falling down his face and onto the floor.
Bakugo wasn't sure how to respond at first. So he just let his cousin go. What he was tryjng to accomplish had been completed.
"Just leave me alone.." Sen races out of Bakugo's room and runs past Eri who was listening out in the hall. After Sen locked himself in the bathroom Eri looks into the bedroom at Bakugo who's still holding onto the belt.
She wanted to run away for the sight of the belt startled her, but she also saw sadness on Bakugo's face. So she swallows her fear and goes into his room to try and comfort him.
"Bakigo?" Eri asks softly with one hand on his leg.
Bakugo pulls himself out of his thoughts and looks down at Eri.
"How long were you standing at my door?" Bakugo asks.
"I heard everything...I'm sorry..." Eri whimpers.
There's a moment of silence before Eri speaks back up.
Warning: self harm and cussing
"I'm sorry you're being forced to watch me..I wish you didn't feel that way though. I was scared at first, but now I really like you. I've been having fun with you Bakigo.." Eri says with the kindest voice.
Bakugo let's out another sigh. Emotionally he didn't have the energy to deal with them both. Tonight has already exhausted him.
"I just got mad." Bakugo says regretting some of the words he used against Sen.
"I can go talk to him." Eri says knowing what Bakugo needed to do.
"No you will not. Right now I need to get dinner ready. It's almost your bedtime." Bakugo says leading Eri into the kitchen to prepare a meal.
After dinner was done Bakugo had fixed the plates and placed them at the table.
"Is Sen going to eat with us?" Eri asks already digging into her plate.
"I'll go let him know the food is ready.. stay here."
Bakugo walks down to the bathroom and notices the door is still locked.
"Sen...open up." Bakugo orders.
"Go away.." Sen cries.
Bakugo rolls his eyes and gets annoyed.
"Sen you're 13 years old. You're too old to be acting like this. Now open up!" Bakugo says.
"I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!" Sen screams while kicking the door.
"Alright, I'm not doing this all fucking night...move away from the door!" Bakugo then kicks open the door sending the door frame flying. He forces his way inside the bathroom and searched until he finds the young boy sitting on the floor by the bath.
"Look Sen, I'm sorry that UA is taking up all my free time. But acting like this won't get my attention! It's just pissing me off! If you seriously had an issue with me then why didn't you fucking tell me instead of acting out like a child all this time?!" Bakugo yells.
"Because it's embarrassing! You're the coolest cousin I have. My older brother wants nothing to do with me. But you actually cared about me when we were kids. Why is it I'm so easy for people to forget and for people to not give a crap about?!" Sen cries clenching onto his arm.
Bakugo remains silent trying to think of how to handle this, until he notices a little bit of toilet paper sticking out of Sen's sleeve. Bakugo had learned the signs of self harm from one of his old friends in junior high. Knowing Sen wouldn't willingly show him his arm..Bakugo had to handle it another way.
He makes his way right in front of Sen and sits on the toilet in front of him. Staring down he sees nothing but Sens head for he was avoiding eye contact.
"That's not true. You think I forgot about you just because I started high school? I'm busy man. And as for your brother, he's just a jerk that doesn't deserve anyone. I'm not good at dealing with kids and I have a short fuse...so pushing my buttons isn't the way to get my attention. You pushed me to my limit tonight and I about kicked your ass. Next time just talk to me instead of acting crazy. Deal?"
Bakugo holds out his hand waiting for Sen to shake it.
Sen waits for a moment then reaches for Bakugo's right hand. When he does he feels Bakugo tighten his grip.
"What are you doing?" Sen asks.
Sen starts trying to pull his arm back but Bakugo wouldn't let him go.
"I didn't do anything!" Sen starts to panic when he sees Bakugo eyeballing the TP in his sleeve
"How bad did you cut?" Bakugo reaches for Sen's sleeve causing the boy to freak out. He pushes his right foot against Bakugo's stomach and tries to force him away. But Bakugo didn't budge.
"Katsuki stop!" Sen panics.
Bakugo removes the boys foot from his abdomen and gets right on top of Sen and holds him down since he kept trying to kick him. When he pins him to the floor the razor falls out of Sens pocket and Bakugo quickly pulls down Sens sleeves exposing all of the bloody cuts going down his arms.
Bakugo looks at him with shock as the boy cries beneath him.
"Sen..you don't do this shit you hear me!" Bakugo starts to say. Bakugo then looks up and sees Eri staring at them with fear in her eyes. Bakugo knew about Eri's traumas and what was done to her. So he knew that seeing the blade and Sens cut arms would be a trigger for her.
Eri runs off without saying a word after looking petrified.
"Son of a bitch!" He yells then looks down at Sen.
"You see why you don't do stupid shit like this?! Not only does it hurt you, but it hurts others around you as well!" Bakugo screams.
Bakugo then gets up off Sen, grabs the blade and walks out the door
"Stay there and don't move!" Bakugo yells.
~What the hell am I going to do? Dammit! I don't know how to calm a child from a PTSD attack! And I cant leave Sen alone or else he might hurt himself again. I'm not fucking cut out for this!~
Bakugo says to himself. He then pulls out his phone and results to doing something he never thought he'd have have to do...
"Kacchan?" Deku says picking up the phone.
"Get your ass over here right now!" Bakugo yells.
"I'm on my way!" Deku says without question. Deku had fully expected to get a phone call. And he was very relieved that he did. He had been worrying all night on how Bakugo was handling things.
Once Deku got back to the dorms. Bakugo was sitting on the couch with Sen waiting for him.
"What's wrong?! What happened?" Deku asks rushing into the building.
Bakugo jumps up from the couch and rushes into the hall.
"Watch him and don't let him leave that couch! I'll be right back." Bakugo yells as he leaves.
"O-ok." Deku looks over at the boy who has his head down.
Bakugo rushes to Eri's bedroom and goes Inside without knocking. When he walks in he sees the girl curled up in a corner crying.
~wtf and I supposed to do damnit.~
Bakugo says to himself.
"Hey..it's me. Are you ok?"
He asks in a clam raspy voice while slowly approaching the trembling girl.
Eri doesn't answer. He just sees her tense up.
"Eri come on, you know it's me." Bakugo says still watching the girl.
"GET BACK!" Eri blurts out while throwing a toy at Bakugo's head.
Eri used to not have outbursts like this. But after she had been brought to a safe place, she began letting out all that she had pent up during her trauma. And right now she had absolutely no control over it.
"Why did you hurt Sen?" Eri yells hugging her knees and rocking herself in her corner
"I didnt hurt Sen, he hurt himself. Which is something he shouldn't do." Bakugo says.
"But, you had him pinned to the floor covered in cuts...and he was scared and crying... and you were angry..." Eri whimpers.
Bakugo sighs and gets down on the floor sitting directly in front of the girl.
"Eri listen to me...I wouldn't hurt a child no matter how pissed I get. I told you that Sen isn't someone I want you to be around. I was just clueless on how bad his behaviors had gotten. If I would of known he was cutting, then I would have never allowed him to be alone." Bakugo explains.
Eri just sits there remaining quiet. Unsure on what to say but she was slowly getting her breathing under control.
"It's ok...I promise." He says holding out his hand.
He sees Eri tense up. So he pulls back his hand. "Alright.." He says to make sure she felt safe so he went at her pace.
After a few minutes Bakugo slowly tries to reach out again to pat her back. She flinches horribly at his touch at first but then she allows him to rub her back as the fought her panic attack.
Once he got her calm and tucked into bed Bakugo starts to leave the room until Eri stops him.
"Bakigo..." She says in a sweet voice.
Bakugo then turns around : "what?"
"I love you...Bakigo..and I'm sorry..." Eri says.
"Don't worry about it. Get some sleep." Bakugo not being good with touching moments quickly shuts the girls door and heads back to the living room.
Once Bakugo gets back into the living room, He sees that Deku is doctoring Sens arms.
Deku notices Sen tense up when Bakugo walks into the room.
"Kacchan..why is Sen covered in cuts?" Deku asks while looking at Bakugo angrily. Bakugo immediately knew what the nerd was thinking.
"Dont even think about blaming me or ill blow your head off your body. I didn't hurt him. He did that to himself." Bakugo explains.
"I DID IT BECAUSE OF YOU!" Sen yells already crying. He then gets up and tries to run away but Bakugo catches him before he can make it to the hallway. Reaching out he wraps his right arm around Sens abdomen and grips him tightly as he tried to run by him. He now had him in a hold from the back.
"LET ME GO! YOU JERK!" Sen yells trying to pull out of Bakugos grip by squirming and kicking his legs.
"NO! WE ARE TALKING THIS OUT RIGHT NOW!" He yells then forces the kid back on the couch. Because Sen kept punching and kicking to try and escape, he left Bakugo no choice but to sit on his back.
"Kacchan..maybe you shouldn't-" Deku begins but Bakugo cuts him off.
"SHUT UP!! ILL HANDLE THIS YOU STUPID NERD!" Bakugo yells.
"GET OFF OF ME!!!" Sen yells still struggling underneath Bakugo.
"LOOK, I had to do what I did because I knew you would resist if I asked you to show me your arms! So if I scared you then get over it! You're thirteen years old, you shouldn't be acting this way. Cutting isn't something you need to mess around with! And it's not going to get a positive reaction out of me! You're lucky I haven't told your mother yet! But I'm not hanging with a kid who likes to push my buttons and hurt himself! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" Bakugo yells.
"Y...yes, Katsuki. You win! I'm sorry...please don't tell my mother!" Sen cries. Sen knew if his mom found out then she'd put him in a mental hospital. And that's the last thing he wanted. After all he had a friend that ended up there and they didn't have very good stories about it. Given Bakugo using this as a threat, Sen immediately backed down and accepted defeat.
Bakugo then gets off of Sen and pulls him up by the back of his shirt.
Sen then sits on the couch with his knees to his chest breathing fast and crying.
"Slow your breathing and stop crying." Bakugo orders watching the young boy.
Sen doesn't respond he just sits there and nods his head.
"Kacchan you gotta be easier on kids." Izuku says feeling really frustrated with how Bakugo was handling things. Even though he wanted to help, he knew that Bakugo had to take on this challenge on his own.
~that stupid nerd~
Bakugo forces the boy to look up at him by pushing back on his forehead.
"Why are you panicking?" He asks staring into his eyes.
"I-I...I don't..I don't know..." Sen struggles to say.
Bakugo then forces the boys legs down and pushes his head in between his knees.
"Keep your head down and take slow deep breaths." Bakugo orders holding his head in place.
Sen tries to follow Bakugo's orders but it just isn't working.
Bakugo can hear Sens breathing getting faster and faster which starts to concern him.
"Sen just breathe." Bakugo says.
"I...can't..." Sen cries.
Bakugo then grabs the tv remote and puts on a comforting family film, then he sits down on the couch next to Sen and pulls the panicking boy into his lap. He then gently places Sens head on his chest.
"What are you doing? This is creepy!" Sen asks freaking out.
"Just focus on my breathing and watch the movie...don't focus on anything else." Bakugo says feeling the boy tense up to his touch.
"And stop tensing!! I'm not going to hurt you Damnit." he says. He wasn't sure how he knew that this would help. But it's all he knew to do.
Bakugo sits with Sen and holds him for a full hour before finally the boy falls asleep in his arms.
Bakugo drops his head back and let's out a sigh the second he feels Sens body fully relax.
"I'm gonna kill both those bastards when they come back for these kids..." He says feeling completely exhausted.
The next morning Eri was standing on the couch gently poking Bakugo's face trying to get him to wake up.
"Bakigo...Bakigo...wake up Bakigo..." Eri whispers.
Bakugo's eyes then flutter open. He sees little Eri smiling at him right before jumping in his lap.
"Good morning Bakigo!! When's breakfast!" Eri asks.
Bakugo rubs the sleepy out of his eyes then realizes that Sen is no longer in his lap.
"Where is Sen?" He asks feeling slightly panicked.
"Oh...your mom came by a few minutes ago and picked him up. Aren't you happy he's gone?" Eri asks with a smile.
"She came by early?" Bakugo reaches to pick up his phone. He had a text message from Sen that read, Thank you. And sorry.
Bakugo didn't pay it much any mind as he puts his phone away. He honestly just wanted to forget the whole night with that kid.
"Alright Eri.." Bakugo says feeling relieved that he managed to get through last night.
For the rest of the weekend Bakugo and Eri just did their usual until finally Mr. Aizawa was on his way back home.
"Eri? Where are you?" Bakugo yells looking for Eri. They had been playing hide and seek for over an hour. And it took even longer than that for Eri to convince him to play with it with her.
Eri then pops her head out from behind a corner giggling. Then she disappears running down the hall when Bakugo enters the kitchen.
"Where is that brat?" He starts looking through the cabinets.
Eri makes her way down to a random bedroom which just so happened to be Tokoyami's room. Thinking that it would be harder for Bakugo to find her.
"Woah...this room is cool." She says amazed at the black lights and really cool things in his room.
Eri then spots the really cool sword Tokoyami had sitting near the door.
"Sooo cool!!! He has a sword! I've always wanted to hold a sword!"
Eri grabs the sword not realizing how heavy it actually was and it ends up falling over. In an attempt to stop the sword, she ends up accidentally cutting her hand.
At first she stood there frozen, the memories of her trauma coming back to her. But instead of going straight into a panic attack, she just screams..
"BAKIGO!!!" She cries screaming as loudly as she can.
Bakugo comes running from the kitchen in a panic when he hears Eri scream that loudly. Only to find Eri standing over a sword with blood pouring from her hands.
"ERI WHAT THE HELL?!" He yells but the little girl is crying and can't catch her breath to respond.
Bakugo picks up Eri and immediately rushes her into the kitchen to run her hands under some cold water. Then he tries to apply pressure with a wad of napkins to stop the bleeding.
"Stop..stop it!!" Eri cries not wanting Bakugo to push down on her wound.
"Why did you pick up that sword?! Didn't Aizawa teach you to not handle sharp objects?!" Bakugo yells with blood all over his hands and clothing.
"Please don't tell him..I didnt mean to..I just wanted to look at it!" She cries.
"Eri, I swear. This is the dumbest thing you've ever done! Mr. Aizawa is going to be pissed when he gets back and I'm going to catch the heat of it!" He yells.
Eri lowers her head and starts to sob again.
"I'm sorry..." she whimpers.
"Whatever. I'm calling recovery girl. Do not take the pressure off those napkins!" Bakugo takes out his phone to notify recovery girl.
Recovery girl was quick to respond. Thankfully Eri's cuts weren't severe enough to need stitches. So she just gave Bakugo some simple instructions on how to doctor her wounds. She would have come to heal her in person but she was out of town.
After getting out the first aid kit, Bakugo takes out the boo boo spray as a child would call it. Eri immediately jerks her hands back and hides them behind her back.
"Come on Eri just let me see your hands."
"No..it's going to hurt!" Eri shakes her head with the saddest look on her face.
"Look, recovery girl said I have to disinfect the cuts. Now let me see your hands."
Eri just whimpers and refuses to make eye contact with Bakugo. Which only frustrated him. He knew that the stuff stung a little, but not as bad as she was making out to be.
"Damnit Eri..."
Eri flinches at Bakugo's words and mentally prepared herself to fight back. But what she expected to happen never did. Instead, Bakugo let out a sigh and picked the small girl up in his arms. He then made his way over to the couch and sat her in his lap sideways. He placed his hand on the back of her head and pressed her forehead against his chest.
"Keep your head against me and relax. I promise it'll only sting for a second."
Eri wanted to freak out, but being snuggled this close to Bakugo, gave her a sense of peace and for some reason, She felt safe. Plus he smelled sweet like caramel candy.
Bakugo pops the cap off the spray bottle and uses his other hand to hold onto Eri's wrists. He can feel Eri tense and remove her head from his chest when he gets ready to apply the spray.
"don't move." Bakugo quickly sprays her hands causing her to try and jerk back. She begins to cry at the stinging sensation, but Bakugo keeps her hands held in place with a tight grip. He then quickly takes out the bandages and wraps them with his other hand.
"There, I'm all done. Now stop crying." He says while letting the girl go and closing the first aid kit. But Eri doesn't stop sobbing. The stinging underneath the bandages were still hurting her.
"I -it still hurts..." she cries still in his lap.
"I know but it won't last long. You just have to wait it out."
Bakugo does the only thing he knows to do and just wraps her in a hug and lays there with her until they both eventually fall asleep.
By the time Mr. Aizawa and the other students got back home, Mr. Aizawa was shocked to see Eri laying on top of Bakugo on the couch sleeping with him.
Then when the rest of the students walked in, he made sure to shush them.
Kirishima couldn't help but open his mouth though.
"I ...is she, sleeping on Bakugo?" He asks surprised.
"YES SHE IS!! Oh my god this is the cutest thing ever!!!" Uraraka whisper squeals while blushing.
Kirishima then takes a picture
"You better send that to me!" Uraraka fusses since her phone was dead.
At first this sight was cute, but then Eri moved a little and Aizawa saw the blood on Bakugo's shirt and Eris hands wrapped in bandages.
Kirishima is the first to see Aizawa face turn from relaxed to furious. "Guys.." Kirishima was hinting for everyone to leave the room immediately.
The class then makes their way to their dorms to unpack while Mr. Aizawa tries to pick Eri to check on her up But when he tugs on her sides, he witnesses her gripping onto Bakugo's shirt like her life depended on it. So instead, he gets really close to Bakugo's face and pinches the boy on the arm as hard as he can to get Bakugo to open his eyes. The second his eyes shot open from the pain Aizawa slaps his hand over Bakugo's mouth to hush him so he doesn't wake Eri. "My office.. now." Aizawa orders.
Once Bakugo manage to get Eri safe and sound in bed, he made his way to see his Sensei. He wasn't nervous about facing him since he already knew what this talk was going to be about. Once he got there, he knocked on the door and waiting for permission to come in.
"You may enter." His teacher says.
Bakugo then opens the door and shuts it. He then turns to see his teacher leaning against his desk and his arms crossed. He looked livid.
"I did not cut her. She got into that bird heads room and cut herself on his sword. And before you lecture me on how horribly I did this weekend, maybe next time you'll consider someone else." Bakugo says.
"Oh don't worry. You definitely wont be watching her again. I didnt expect you to excel at this assignment but never did I expect you to take your eyes off her long enough for her to hurt herself. So tell me how often was she left alone?" Aizawa asks assuming the worst.
"She talked me into playing hide and seek. Sensei I didnt know she'd do something like that." Bakugo tries to explain.
"Get out of my sight before I cut you myself." Aizawa didn't care that he was threatening a student. His inner dad was coming out and right now he was livid at Bakugo.
Bakugo's expression had actually went from his normal RBF to shocked when he heard his teacher threaten to hurt him. Without saying another word, Bakugo left his teachers office and escorted himself to his room.
Aizawa knew he wasn't acting like himself right now and he knew that the only reason he was this angry is due to Eri's trauma. The last thing he needed was for her to get triggered more. The girl was already covered in cuts that was hard to keep hidden. Now he'd have to keep her hands covered as well.
A month had passed and Bakugo did as his teacher wanted. He kept his distance from Eri. Bakugo also remained very very silent compared to him usually being the loudest thing in the class. And everyone knew something was up.
But the one who suffered most was Eri.
"Please...can Bakigo take me to the park...please daddy..." Eri begged Mr. Aizawa who was getting ready to take her there himself.
"Eri you know I'm not comfortable with you being around Bakugo. I'll get Deku to take you ok?"
"No...I want Bakigo..." Eri begins to cry. For some reason Aizawa just couldn't figure out why she was having such horrible separation anxiety from him. And he wasn't sure on how to help her. He knew he didn't want her around Bakugo But at this point, the problem was only getting worse. So he ended up going to the source himself hoping to try and fix this situation.
Bakugo was just in his room studying when he heard a knock on his door.
"What?!" He yells out of frustration. Mr. Aizawa then slowly open the door and Eri immediately pushes past him and rushes up to Bakugo, clinging to his leg.
"We need to talk about something if you've got a moment."
Bakugo looks down at Eri sitting on the floor clinging to his leg crying. Then he looked back up at his teacher with slight fear in his eyes. Bakugo immediately recalled what happened the last time he spoke with his teacher. So he wasn't expecting this conversation to go well.
"Whatever it is I haven't been around her.." He says with fear and irritation.
"Ever since the night you babysat her she's been experiencing horrible separation anxiety from you. I cant even take her to the park without this happening. I don't understand it.." he says.
"I dont know, Instead of asking me why don't you ask the one with the problem?"
"Look, I'm not comfortable with you being around her alone. But she's been miserable without you. So as long as someone's with you I'll accept it." Aizawa didn't want to accept this at all but he also hated seeing Eri so depressed.
Bakugo sighs and rolls his eyes. He had so much homework to do and really didn't feel like doing with with her today. But still..she was just a child.
"Whatever. Just get out and send someone else in." Bakugo orders.
Mr. Aizawa leaves Bakugo's room and shuts the door behind him. Bakugo then looks down at Eri who's still sobbing against his leg. He places his pencil down on the desk letting out another sigh then he pries her off his leg.
"Alright you little brat...spill the beans. Why have you gotten so attached to me?" He says placing the child on his bed and scooting his chair up to her. Bakugo crosses his arms waiting for an answer while Eri tries to dry her tears.
"I dont know..I guess..you just make me feel safe." She whimpers.
"But so does Deku and your dad. So why don't you want to be around them?"
"That's not it...I...I've just been..." Eri pauses struggling with her words.
"You've been what?" Bakugo asks glaring at the girl.
" I can't think suddenly.." Eri starts to sob and places her hands on her eyes.
"Why? There's nothing to be afraid of."
"Yes there is..." Eri whines..
"Then tell me..."
But Eri remains sitting there silently.. Not saying a word.
Bakugo watches as she rubs her hands where her cuts were. He then trails his eyes over her scarred arms where her old cuts used to be. He then recalls everything class 1A had been told about Eri's past and he remembered the endless nightmares she was having the first several months of living at UA. Which led him to assuming something...
Bakugo then sighs and texts for Mr. Aizawa to come back in. Once Mr. Aizawa is back in the room with Deku, Bakugo breaks the silence.
"I cant get her to talk.. but I think I might know what's going on." He starts.
"Really?" Aizawa asks looking over at Eri who's staring at the floor. Kirishima immediately goes to her and starts to try and comfort her. "Hey little bit, mind if I sit with you?" Kiri asks getting on the bed with her.
"When she cut her hands on that damn birds sword, instead of panicking, she called out for me. So I came to help her. In a way, I feel like that possibly might be contributing to her behavior."
"I dont understand..can you explain?"
"When a child that suffered trauma re-experiences it or is reminded of that moment, it can lead to them reverting back to their old fears and problems. In other words...she's possibly having nightmares again and recalling frightening memories from the trauma."
"Is that true Eri?" Mr Aizawa sees the upset girl tense up. Which pretty much confirmed it.
"Eri if you were having bad memories and nightmares then why didn't you tell me?" He asks concerned.
Eri let's a few more tears slip before looking up at Aizawa and finally speaking.
"Because I dont want to worry anyone again. But being with Bakigo makes me feel safe. Even in my nightmares, Every time I get scared and call for him, he shows up and saves me. Just like he did that night I cut my hands..that's why..that's why I want to be with him. He takes the fear away and makes me feel safe." Eri sobs.
"There's your answer." Bakugo says looking up at his teacher.
"But Eri Mr. Aizawa is your father. How come you don't feel the same way with him?" Kirishima asks her.
"I dont know..." she whimpers
"And what about Deku? You didn't behave this way when he and Lemillion saved you back then."
Eri remains silent only allowing small whimpers to escape.
"We're not trying to upset you. We just want to understand you Sweetie so we can help." Mr. Aizawa says taking a seat next to his daughter.
Eri was at her breaking point, this was just too much...so she eventually gives in and looks Bakugo straight in the eyes.
"Never has anyone showed up in my nightmares to help me! There's never been an escape for me! back then, when I closed my eyes at night, I always knew what was coming, and I never could do anything to stop it. But after the night I cut my hands, and after the nightmares returned, all the fear came rushing back. Normally I'd have to deal with the fear alone, asleep and awake. But then you showed up the moment i called, and you were able to take the fear away. I felt safe because you were right there with me the whole time. When normally nobody hears me when I call just like back then. It's not like when Deku saved me. It's different. Deku showed up too late.. after i had been hurt many times. But with you you came immediately! It's just not the same with deku. I just want you!"
Eri practically jumps into Bakugos lap and latches onto shirt so tight that nothing would be able to pry her off. While Aizawa looked to have a serious question on his mind.
"Eri...have you called for me before without me knowing?"
After a few minutes of sobbing, Eri lifts her face out of Bakugo's chest to answer him.
"S-sometimes. You're always busy...everyone is."
"Eri I don't care if I'm in the middle of training or patrolling, if you need me then you can come get me or have someone to let me know. You know this.."
"I'm sorry...sometimes I feel like I cant...it's hard to ask for help because I'm scared nobody will show up. But Bakigo did."
Bakugo wraps his arms around Eri and places his chin on her head while she snuggles her face into his chest.
"I get it. Sometimes it's just easier to suffer in silence. When I was kidnapped by the villains..I did the same thing." Bakugo admits knowing that Mr. Aizawa was right next to him.
"Really? So what did you do about it?" Eri says looking up at Bakugo..
"Well, I held everything inside until it all came bursting out of me in anger." Bakugo explains.
Aizawa watched as the two sat there hugging on one another. He wasn't happy with himself after finding out Bakugo was suffering alone after his trauma with the villains and now he definitely felt like shit for threatening to cut him. He felt he should of reached out to him to check and see if he was ok. But Bakugo has always been so strong and able to handle himself, it honestly didn't cross his mind.
"You can leave her with me. It'll be fine." Bakugo says snapping Mr. Aizawa out of his thoughts.
"Are you sure?" He asks.
"Yeah." Bakugo says.
"Alright then. I'll be back later to pick her up. Text me if you need anything. And Bakugo, I'm sorry." Mr. Aizawa says right as he left the room.
Bakugo actually felt relief getting that apology. He definitely wasn't expecting it and the hell from that day kept repeating in his head. So that was exactly what he needed to hear.
Eri was so happy that Bakugo let her stay that she immediately dried up her tears.
"Thank you..I love you Bakigo..." Eri says hugging the explosive blond.
Bakugo couldn't help but grin at the small girl. Now he understood where she was coming from. And because he could relate to her pain, he knew keeping her close would benefit her and ease her anxiety. And in a way she now helped him too. So that's what he felt he needed to start doing. Bakugo had finally managed to get along with a child who had now become his best friend.
The End
