Chapter 3:Mistaken for Dead
Date: Monday 24th June 2013
Time: 8:50am
Location: Tidmouth, Island of Sodor, UK
It was a dull day on a small Island, known as the Island of Sodor, it was part of, as well as located between the United Kingdom & The Isle of Man, in the Irish sea. In the town of Tidmouth, on the side of a railway line, not far from Tidmouth Sheds, there was a house on the hillside gradient next to the line. Inside the house, in the dining room, there was a man, in his late 40s to early 50s, he had long dark blonde hair, with short and shaved dark blonde stubble around his mouth, he had blue eyes, he had quite a strong and broad build, and he wore a white shirt, with a black tie, with Dark Blue trousers and black work boots. He also had a matching Dark Blue jacket, with light blue trim and peaked work cap, both hanging from the chair he was sitting on, as he read the newspaper, while waiting for when it was time for him to go to work… suddenly, the home phone started ringing, as he then quickly got up and answered it…
"Hello?" The man asked, as he answered the phone.
"Morning Ralph." An elderly woman's voice said on the line, who sounded somewhat down.
"Morning Judith, are you ok?" Ralph greeted and asked in concern.
"Ralph, there's been a report on the news, something's happened back in Chamberlain… It regards Margaret…" Judith explained, still feeling down.
Ralph then switched on the TV, to see the News Report…
"Now we a very sad story here: 2 Night's ago, on Saturday 22nd June, in Chamberlain, Maine, a young girl was killed in prank gone wrong during Prom Night. The victim has been identified as 17-Year-Old Carrietta Nadine White, Born on September 21st, 1995, to Margaret White, and her late husband: Ralph White. It was strongly believed that Carrie was mistreated by the whole town, especially by a group of students in her class, known as the 'Mortimer Snerds' who were all arrested not long after this tragedy, but also it has been discovered that she was abused by her own mother, who was also arrested following the incident…" The News Reporter explained, as a picture of Carrie was showed on screen…
From what had just seen from the report, Ralph was Mortified from all of it…
"Ralph? Are you still there?" Judith asked down the line.
"Y-Yeah… I've just seen the report…" Ralph replied, as some tears began forming in his eyes…
"Oh Ralph, I'm so sorry…" Judith said in sorrow down the line.
"It's ok Judith… Thank you for letting me know… I best call Sir Topham Hatt, to let him know…" Ralph replied in a down tone.
"It's best you do Ralph… If you want, me and Harold will meet you in town, we'll have a drink to Carrie, pending what Sir Topham Hatt says…" Judith suggested.
"I think that's a great suggestion Judith, thank you, I'll call you back once I've spoken to Sir Topham Hatt…" Ralph replied, sounding happy enough with the suggestion.
"Ok Ralph, no problem, c u soon, bye." Judith replied, before they hung up the line, before Ralph redialed the phone, to call the Fat Controller, as more tears formed and slowly dribbled down his eyes and face, remember all the times he was badly abused by his ex-wife, but now knowing had a daughter, who he never got to see, nor was he aware of… That is, until he was reunited with Judith Brigham (Ralph's Mother-in-Law/Margaret's Mother), as well as Harold Allison (Ralph's Stepfather in Law/ Margaret's Stepfather), when they came to Sodor, sometime after Judith's mother: Sadie Cochran, passed away a few months prior…
Judith & Harold had told Ralph about when Carrie was born, not long after Ralph was presumed dead after the Grizzly Construction accident, In which Ralph had faked his death, and left Chamberlain, to get away from Margaret, unaware at the time, she was pregnant with Carrie… Judith even told Ralph the first time she was Carrie, when she was just a baby, Margaret almost hurt Carrie, but Judith thankfully stopped her… Judith was horrified and disgusted with her own daughter, she even tried to report Margaret, but no one took her claims seriously back then, due to lack of evidence…
(Meanwhile, Back in Chamberlain, Maine…)
Following the events of the Prom weekend, the town of Chamberlain, Maine had fallen silent in sorrow and shame, following the death of Carrie White, as well as the arrests of all those involved in Chris's prank, & Margaret White as well. The truth of Margaret's abuse to Carrie behind closed doors, spread like a wildfire, making everyone in chamberlain, whether they teased or bullied Carrie or not, realise & regret their choices, now that Carrie was gone, and all knew the truth behind why she was the way she was…
Following the evidence collected regarding the prom, Chris & Billy were remanded in custody, and were awaiting trial in court. All the rest of the 'Mortimer Snerds' including Sue, had no further action taken against them, but they had to pay a large fine each, for Bullying Carrie, leading up to her death, which all their families paid, but as well as all of those involved, including Chris being expelled from the school…
Sue & Tommy remained close friends, but mutually and sadly agreed to end their relationship, as neither of them felt their relationship could live beyond Carrie's loss…
Miss Desjardin had quit her job as Gym Teacher, feeling washed over with grief, and feeling she had failed Carrie, and that she was no longer capable of working & Teaching students, following the tragedy…
Following all this, Principal Morton cancelled the upcoming Graduation ceremony, that was to take place the upcoming Saturday, deciding to hold Carrie's Funeral in its place. It was decided and agreed, that the funeral would take place at the school, instead of the local church, before Carrie's coffin would be transported to the church for burial, then the wake would also take place at the school afterwards…
but during the funeral, Chris & Billy's Trial in court would take place the same time that day, which also prohibited them from attending the funeral…
Following Margaret's arrest as well, the shock of learning of Carrie's death, had affected her differently, as she confessed to every time she had either hurt, or tired to kill Carrie, which horrified those who interviewed and questioned her over the accusations from the officers who arrested her, as well as the accusations that others had put in over the past years, but didn't have evidence to confirm it, but Margaret also confessed that it was actions and beliefs also harmed her late husband, before his supposed death in the construction accident. Margaret is undergoing therapy & tests, to determine whether she is fit to stand trial in court for all the crimes against her own daughter, which also prohibited her from attending Carrie's funeral aswell…
In the following 4 days, The School Gym Hall where the prom was, & where the cancelled Graduation ceremony would have taken place, had been redecorated and rearranged into a more Church or Cathedral arrangement. There were seats arranged on both sides of the hall with a red carpet in the center, leading up to the stage, where the Coffin containing Carrie's body would be stationed throughout the funeral proceedings. Although not everyone in the town would be attending the funeral, they all prepared their suits, dresses, and other forms of clothing for the funeral, some just had black coloured clothing at home, with they prepared, while others had to get theirs either fitted or tailored… For all those who were either not attending or wouldn't be able to get into the school, they would all stand outside the school, or outside their homes, or even watch the funeral on TV, or listen on Radio…

Location: Westover Doctor's Hospital, Chamberlain, Maine
During the night before the day of the Late Carrie White's Funeral, In the basement morgue of the Hospital, Morticians/Undertakers were walking over to one of the refrigeration units, where bodies of the recently deceased where kept frozen, before preparations for their funerals, before opening one of the doors to the unit, then they unloaded one of the body storage trays, containing Carrie's body, which had a Crime scene tag label tied to the big toe on her right foot, with details of who she was and how she died written on it. The Tray containing Carrie's body was soon taken away on a stretcher, to prepare her body for the coffin that her body would be placed into for her funeral and burial. it had been decided Carrie would be dressed a replication of her homemade Prom Dress that she made for prom, as well as made up to look how she looked before Chris's prank, leading up to her unfortunate death…

Soon Carrie's body was dressed in the replication of her prom dress, as well as other accessories she wore during the prom, including the make up she put on, and even had her hair done up the same way, as it was brought back on the stretcher, before her body was then placed into a coffin that had a golden metal plate on the lid:

Carrie's body was placed to look like she was sleeping peacefully, before the Coffin Lid was closed and lock sealed shut for the time being…
Carrie Coffin was then taken and loaded into a Hearse, before being driven down to the local church, where it would be kept, before being picked up and driven down to the school the following day... The coffin was later placed where coffins were normally placed during funerals, before the Undertaker left, locking the church doors, and driving off home…
But not long after the Undertaker left…
*THUD! *
There was a bang like thud, coming from Carrie's coffin… but the thud sounded like it was coming from within the coffin… Then was another Thud… then another… and another… before more and more thuds and bangs came from the coffin rapidly, causing it to shake, when suddenly…
The top half of the coffin lid shot open, along with Carrie, as she gasped for air, and breathing heavily, as somehow: Carrie White was still Alive!
