Fish Out Of Water Chapter 6
After all that hassle yesterday Syrena and the Amphibian Man are swimming peacefully in their pool despite the chains and metal collars attached to their necks, taking advantage of this tiny reprieve from Strickland and Dr. Hoffstetler. Gives them a chance to rejuvenate from the injuries sustained from them.
The doors into the lab open making the Amphibian Man and Syrena dive as deep as the chains will permit into the pool, hoping to avoid another session of senseless torture and interrogation.
Instead of being unceremoniously yanked to the surface, the duo is met with a surprise visitor peeking their face at them over the surface, contrary to those belonging to those aiming insurmountable surges of cruelty toward the pair.
It's that woman Elisa from the janitorial staff. This peculiar human woman is on her break and has decided to visit them at this hour, consuming a boiled egg she'd already freed from the shell.
Syrena and the Amphibian Man spoke lightly to each other under the water. Their communication exchange was so garbled it was incoherent to the woman.
Amphibian Man is the one to make an approach first with Syrena safely shielded behind his back in case this is some sort of deceptive trick to gain their trust.
No such thing.
Eliza's intentions are genuine in regard to them.
To prove this, she offers another boiled egg, intent on sharing her lunch with them.
Eliza makes the mistake of moving to place the egg in his hand instead of letting him remove it at his own pace.
Amphibian Man emits a hissing screech, gills bristling on his neck as he stiffens into a defensive threat position.
Eliza is undeterred, raising a patient hand as she rethinks her strategy. Eliza places the egg down onto the rim of the pool in a non-threatening manner. She then makes a symbol with her hands in sign language telling them the word for egg and tapping the boiled egg to further explain her meaning.
The Amphibian Man is very timid and cautious given their awful treatment in this facility so far.
Syrena pokes the egg to test its dexterity. Shifting around him a bit she sniffs the egg, releasing a light huff she exhales in a sharp breath.
Nothing bad happened.
Snatching the egg offered egg Amphibian Man and Syrena go back under the water, leaving a jovial Eliza behind as the two samples the egg together.
Later on, when everyone else is gone, the Amphibian Man is playing with the discarded eggshell, intrigued by it. He molds his finger into the gesture Eliza used to identify the object. Beside him, Syrena does the same, rubbing her temple against his own as they stared in an interesting wonder at this new thing.

By the way whose been watching House of the Dragon? I am so in love with Prince Daemon. He is a dream. Matt Smith was the perfect person to play that character. Similar to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool no one could've done it better.
