Lizzie was woken by a phone ringing. rolling over she tried to get back to sleep but felt a void in the bed. Rubbing her eyes to remove the sleep, she pushed herself up so she was sitting up and turned the lamp that sat on the bedside table on, checking the time it was almost half two and she saw a light coming from beneath the closed door of her bathroom and Dylan voice coming from within.

"Ok mom, i will see if I can get a flight, look I can't talk now... no because I will wake lizzie. Look I will let you know the flight details as soon as I can, I love you mom,"

lizzie pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them as Dylan walked out, and seeing her wide awake said "sorry did I wake you? I tried to be quite,"

"Yes," she said "but that's not important, what's happened?" she asked as he sat on the edge of the bed.

"My dad has been in a car accident, according to my mom it bad," he said "i need to check flights back home," he added.

reaching over lizzie took his hand in hers. "OK let me check for flights, you get packing," she said before getting out of bed and quietly nipping down the stairs to her snug and grabbing her laptop bag and running back up. Sitting on her bed as he had put his case on to her dressing table stool

"Which is the nearest airport to where they live?" she asked opening up the booking site and adding the details for she needed.

"Sydney," he said as he started pull out clothes and chuck them in to the case that he had open on her stool.

Adding that in to the search she pulled up the flight details and started to scroll through them.

"Ok so the are two seats left in business leaving tonight so I book them," she said clicking on to book.

"Them? I only need one-" he said before she stopped him.

"if you think that I am letting to travel all the way around to the other side of the earth on your own to face something like this on your own, then you clearly don't know me," she said "besides, I love you and you need support," she added putting the details in for the flight and adding her card details.

"Have I told you how much I love you lately?" he asked

walking up to the bed he leant over and kissed her deeply on the lips. Reaching her hand up lizzie brushed it over his cheek. She pulled back and looked deep in to he's eyes, which had a tint of sadness and had dimed and were no longer bright.

"No, but you don't need to tell me I know," she said leaning up and kiss with him Deeping it, sending lizzie almost over the edge.

"Mmm, it's all booked we have to check in by 5pm and the flight at 6pm," she said as Dylan gently pushed the lid of her computer down and pushed it to one side. He then gently pushed her back so she was lying flat on the bed.

"Dylan," she said as he placed kisses down her neck and collar bone, and pulled up her night shirt and slipped it over her head before placing kisses over her body, with lizzie giving in to him, and she completely fell over the edge taking Dylan with her.

Lizzie woke up a few hours later, from her window she could see the sun streaming in, her head was resting on Dylan's bare chest and she could hear the beating of his heart and the slow breathing telling her he had finely falling asleep. They were intertwined in each other. Reaching up, she placed a kiss on to his lips before untangling herself and pulled out her case and started chucking clothes, shoes and underwear in to the case. She pulled out the final dress that she was going to take. A black dress. Placing it at the bottom of her bag she piled the rest of her brightly coloured dresses, and skirts on top and added the lightly coloured shirts and cardigans to the case with several pairs of various shoes. Finely she pulled the large carry-on bag out of her wardrobe and put in a pair of comfy pjs, slippers, and a change of clothes for her to put on when they were almost there, her laptop and a book as well as other important items that she would need to hand.

quietly she walked down to her father's study where she opened his safe and took out her passport. Carefully closing the safe, lizzie walked out of the room and straight in to her dad.

"Morning dad," she said placing a kiss on his cheek. He was about to respond when he saw the marron cover of her passport.

"What is going on lizzie, why do you need your passport, and what was all that noise last night, doors opening and closing?"

"Ah that. Well Dylan had a call from his mom, his dad has been in an accident and Dylan needs to fly back and I am going along to support him. So that noise was him packing," she said as she made her way to the stairs "we have a flight out tonight," she added as she ran back up to her room. Stepping in she saw that Dylan was up and finishing is packing.

"Hey, how are you?" she said walking to her carry-on and slipping her passport in to the front pocket.

"Ok, I just need to get out there and see him," he said stuffing a few things in to his carry-on. Grabbing her phone lizzie called a taxi company to take them to the airport and paying the fare there and then.

"The taxi will pick us up at noon," she said looking at the clock on her bedside table, the time read that it was 9am so they had three hours to get everything ready.

Walking over to her, Dylan placed a kiss on her forehead before pulling her close to him and whispered in to her ear "god I love you. I really love you,"

gently pushing her towards the bed, Dylan placed kisses on her neck.

"Dylan," she said "we can't. We have to finish packing," before allowing him to take control over her.

Straighten her clothes after their passion, lizzie carried her case down to the hall and placed it by the door before running up to her room to grab her carry-on and took that down and placed it on the top of her case.

"Dylan, the taxis here," she called up as he carried his bags down to the hall. Lizzie turned to her father who had joined them in the hall. Giving him a hug, she said "i will see you soon and I will call as soon as we get there," before placing a kiss on to his cheek. Wrapping his arms around his daughter he said "Travel safe sweetheart,"

Sliding in to the taxi, lizzie waved goodbye to her father as Dylan slid in to the car next to her and took her hand in his. Looking over to him, lizzie whispered "it's going to be ok," Dylan, brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it. Closing her eyes, lizzie drifted off to sleep as the taxi made the three-hour plus journey to the airport. Her head slowly fell on to Dylans shoulder and he wrapped his arm around her and held her close to him. He too then again fell asleep his head gently resting on hers.

The taxi pulled up outside the airport terminal and Dylan who was now awake and had been for

"Lizzie, we are at the airport," he said shaking her gently on the shoulder. Lizzie's eyes opened with a start and she arched her back in the seat stretching out her muscles

"How long was I asleep for?" she asked climbing out of the car, as the driver took the cases from the boot.

"About the entire journey," Dylan replied smiling at her. "don't worry you did not snore," he added. Giving him a death stair, lizzie slipped her carry-on on to the top of her case and pulled it towards the doors of the terminal.

Arriving at the checking in desk lizzie, produced the email confirmation of their booking and passed it along with her and Dylans passport to the lady on the desk. Checking them in, the clerk asked them all the questions about backing the bags themselves and prohibited items. Lizzie watched as her case disappeared followed by Dylan's as they were handed back their passports and their boarding cards.

following the signs, they cleared security and made their way to the lounge to wait for their flight.

"Attention ladies and gentlemen flight Quantas flight Qut2363 to Sydney is now boarding can all Business class passengers please make their way to gate C," a voice came over loud speakers. Picking up her bag lizzie made her way over to the gate followed by Dylan.

The eighteen-hour flight was uneventful and they touched down in Sydney twenty-six hours after taking off in London due to the time difference. Lizzie was asleep for most of it, she fell asleep after a two-course meal of chicken with potato gratin and seasonal vegetables followed by chocolate tart.

Walking in to the terminal, lizzie and Dylan had to briefly as lizzie needed to be cleared by immigration. Walking on her own through immigration, lizzie was cleared and allowed to enter the country. Meeting Dylan by the car rentals, Lizzie sighed and wrapped her arms around his waist resting her head on his chest.

"How long did they say for the car?" she asked

"About thirty minutes" he said as the clerk walked back to the desk and handed over keys and paperwork.

"Your car is parked in bay 9," she said "have a nice day,"

Loading the car, lizzie helped Dylan load the bags in to the boot before sliding in to the passenger seat.

"Are you heading to your parents' house first or the hospital?" lizzie asked as Dylan as he pulled out of the carpark and on to the highway. passing her his phone he asked, "can you call my mum and put it on loud speaker?"

Doing as he said, lizzie held his phone as he talked to his mom.

"Mom, are you at the hospital, yeah, we landed an hour ago. No lizzie came over with me. Ok mom I will see you at the hospital," he said before asking lizzie to hang up. Placing his phone in her bag for safety, lizzie looked at him, all his focus was on the road. It took them another hour to reach the hospital where Dylans father was. After parking the car, Dylan ran to the ward where his father was with lizzie close behind him.

"Mom," he said as he saw his mom sitting next to a bed. On seeing her son, his mom ran over and pulled him in to a hug. Holding on to his mom, Dylan walked over to the bed and saw his father hooked up to tubes and wires.

"How is he?" Dylan asked turning to his mother

"Not good, they will be running more tests, but it's not looking good," she said her voice braking. Noticing lizzie stood back Dylan walked back over to her and guided her to where she had been sitting.

"Mom, this is lizzie, my fiancée," he said holding tightly to lizzie's hand.

"Pleased to meet you Mrs Mullholand I just wish it was under better circumstances," lizzie said

"Call me sara," she said pulling lizzie in to a hug. after letting her go sara walked back over to her husband bed side, placed a kiss on his forehead and lead the pair from the room,

"Dylan, you two must be tired after your long trip," sara said "i made your room up earlier," she added.

"thanks Mom,"

Sliding back in to the car, lizzie suddenly felt the jet lag hit her. Closing her eyes, she fell asleep with the motion of the car.

"Lizzie, we are here," Dylan said tapping her shoulder. But he only got a mumbled reply. Something about it being too early. Taking her belt off, Dylan got out of the car, walked around to her side, opened her door, lifted her out and carried her up to his room. Laying her on his bed, he took her shoes off and pulled the covers over her. Stripping down to his underwear, he curled up next to her and pulled her close to him, breathing in the scent of her perfume and drifted to sleep himself.

Lizzie was the first one to wake up to the sound of a knock on the door, and Dylan's mother walking in her face red and blotchy

"Dylan," lizzie said shoving his shoulder "Your mom needs to speak to you," she added as he woke up. Sitting up he stretched before turning to his mom.

"The hospital called," she said before Dylan jumped out of the bed and grabbed the clothes, he had taken off a few hours previously.

"Ok, I will drive us to the hospital," he said steering his mother out of the room. Lizzie followed and watched the car pull out of the drive and head to the hospital
