Chapter 11: Disappearances in Akihabara
"Hey Sora, look at this." Takumi called out to the keyblade master, who went to the billboard to see what the fuss was about. and seeing their latest mission as Kyoko went out to get some coffee.
The paper said that their mission was to find some disappearances in the Akihabara District. Making the two of them wonder who posted the case here. "In case you're wondering, it was I" a familiar voice said, making the two of them scared out of their skins.
It was Detective Date alongside Kyoko. Who told them that she has a case for them, while she and the two of them sat on one couch, Detective Date sat on the other... Along with putting her feet on the table.
She explained that there are disappearances of people who were in the Akihabara District. And yet, nobody knows how the people disappeared. So Detective Date decided to go to the Agency to help.
"You better not inform Detective Goro, understand! Or you're both arrested!" she called out as she walked out the office. Making Sora and Takumi both scared out of their pants. Making kyoko laugh softly at the two boys, only to become serious again.
"Well, looks like we'll have an interesting case." she said, as Sora and Takumi stood up. and walked to the door and going to Akihabara. Not wanting to be in Detective Date's bad mood and on her radar to arrest.
Later in Akihabara, or Akiba for short. Both Takumi and Sora got off the bus and looked around. "Let's split up, I'll go over there." Sora said as he pointed across the street, which one of the buildings had big blue letters spelling out 'Sega'. and Takumi agreed.
Walking across the walkway, and greeting a worker in a maid outfit who greeted back. Sora went past an alleyway, having a strange feeling as he walked past. and looking at the windows of people hanging out.
Only to hear a girl who seemed in hiding, and was mumbling something about a stalker or something? "Excuse me, did you say a stalker?" the keyblade wielder asked the woman, who turned to him and nodded with approval.
She pointed across the street, to a weird guy who was looking away, made some weird poses. While nearby, Sora saw Takumi talking to someone else. "He's been following me. And I want it to stop." she said, all the while out of their sight. Takumi was talking to the stalker.
"Okay, I'll do it for you." Sora said as both he and Takumi walked to the crosswalk. And meeting each other. "Hey Sora, i was about to talk to the girl across the street from the guy across." He said, only to have Sora having to tell him.
Sora's statement made Takumi silent, making the keybearer nervous. "Yeah, going to have a talk with him now." the goggle head said as he walked back. All the while, Sora went back to the girl who told him about the stalker. "I informed a friend of mine." Sora told her as across the street, Takumi was angrily talking at the stalker.
All the while said stalker was making even more poses! Even some that were impossible. With Takumi demanding something, the stalker complied and gave it to him. All the while he made one more pose!
…Which broke his back. As Takumi walked to where Sora and the girl is, even if he was a stalker. Sora felt sorry for the guy as he groaned his way to the hospital. And takumi went up to them, all the while he said he had a URL to another place in EDEN.
Later in EDEN, both Takumi and Sora were in a place where there were fans of some kind of comic. But even Takumi didn't know about the comic, but even then. Sora and Takumi both went to ask some of the people about the akiba disappearances.
"I can help, but it has to be a different place." one person told them, both agreeing as she logged out. "Hey." they heard Arata's voice, and the two of them saw Arata walking up to them. "Haven't seen you around here before." he said as he looked at them.
"Well, we have a case here and it has something to do with the disappearances in Akiba." Takumi explained to him, all the while wondering why Arata was in the chat room. He raven haired teen just told him he was just following them.
Which Takumi didn't believe a word of that, Arata sensed this, and said they'll see them soon to help their investigation. Leaving quickly before another person called out to him, giving Sora a confused look.
So the both of them went out of EDEN, and back in the real world. to meet the person who talked to them in front of the stores. they were at the used book store, where they saw the same woman in front of the entrance.
"Hey, you two are here." she said as she saw the two of them walked to her to ask the woman some questions. "Of course, you see. the incidents happened as some of the Commani members of the obscure manga." she told the two of them.
Eventually hearing that they all disappeared at an alleyway of Akiba, the two of them thanked the woman, going out of the Nakano Mall and heading to Akiba. Meanwhile Takumi wondered why Arata was in a chat room that was for an obscure manga in the first place. But then his digivice beeped and Arata said that he was with Kyoko in the office.
The hacker was looking into Kyoko's computer as both Takumi and Sora looked at he sight. as both were looking into the disappearances in Akiba. including the 'Digimon Capture' program.
"Of course, there might be some answers in Kowloon as well" Arata said as went out. Both Sora and Takumi went into the as well as Kyoko wishing them luck. and headed to Kowloon.
Meeting the raven haired hacker the explored the floor to the place where they first saw the eater. where a file was floating, only to have a digimon attack them in surprise! They were almost ready to attack, before said digimon disappear.
"Did you see the appearance you guys?" Takumi asked them. Sora did see it, as it was a hooded figure standing on top of a book! "Does it have to do with the disappearances?" Terriermon asked the goggle head.
Arata walked away from them, telling them to meet him at Akiba. Takumi, Sora and their digimons all agreed. Getting out of EDEN and heading back to Akiba!
Waiting by the alleyway, Arata looked for Takumi and Sora in a bit. "What took you two so long?" the white coated hacker called out to Takumi and Sora, who just chuckled a bit. "So where do we start?" Takumi asked the guy, only to be interrupted by something.
The Alleyway had lit up and had a similer portal back at Shinjuku before! the trio was surprised at the appearance of the new digital portal! Making Arata slightly smiled at the sight. All the while, Takumi and Sora were shocked at the sight.
The three felt this digital portal had something to do with the current case, so they had to go in weather they want to or not. The three of them all went in, hoping to find the missing people inside.
They were in a place similar to the one in Shinjuku, only some parts of the area had piles of tvs blocking the way! "Well, this is new." Terriermon, now Gargomon said, wondering what happened. While Renamon was now Kyuubimon and Sora's Dorumon was now Dorugamon alongside Wizardmon. All ready to hep out, only to see someone in sight!
"Hey! Are you okay?" Sora asked, but no response to the person he called to. So to check them out, only to find out they weren't fully moving! All of them looked at the frozen person.
Only to have Heartless and some digimon appear! Summoning his keyblade alongside the Digimon coming to his side as they attacked the attackers. Sora throwing a lightning ball… which that was new to him. And as it contacted one of the Heartless, it stunned the others nearby as the one that contacted the thunder ball was destroyed!
"Okay, that was new!" the keyblade master said as they fought off the remaining heartless and enemy digimon. And eventually they were all gone as they were safe. They all went ahead, only to have a dozen or so TV sets come out from nowhere and blocked the pathway!
"Oh great, where do we go now!" called out Arata, as they walked carefully before more television sets blocked them. before new sounds of footsteps came behind them. Turing around carefully as Sora summoned his keyblade again to see Seudo again.
"What are you doing here?" Takumi asked the wandering scientist, who looked around the place. Who gave a slight chuckle which made Sora freeze up a little. "Nothing much, yet when i saw you three enter the Digital Shift." Seudo said as he looked at the three of them.
Still looking around, as walked behind them. "It seems like you're in a pickle here, would you like my help?" Seudo asked the group, although they distrusted him as they all turned around to talk about it.
"i mean, he is a creepy guy. but what else could we do?" Takumi said as both Gargomon and Kyuubimon both nodded, Arata just stayed silent as Sora began to talk. "I mean, I've met a creepy scientist myself. But this is taking the cake, but i guess we have no choice…" Sora said, and Arata agreed.
They all turned to face Seudo, who was just waiting patiently for their answer. "You can come with us, its dangerous anyways." Arata said to the man, who just gave a small creepy chuckle.
"Splendid, it's sure nice to see children helping the elderly!" He called out, while Arata just looked away from him. They all walked to in the place, Of course televisions did pop out of nowhere blocking them!
"Quite a conundrum isn't it?" Seudo asked them, seeing Sora's and Takumi's puzzled looks. While Arata was annoyed at the televisions, which of course their digimons did try to destroy the blockades.
But they were indestructible, which was a shame. May I be of help?" Seudo asked them, opening his laptop to find some clues to the area. "Ah, here is the problem. clusters of datas are the problem." he said as he closed his laptop.
Having to follow the directions Seudo gave them to an alleyway, where they found floating Data Clusters. Takumi went to touch it, with the televisions around them disappearing.
So they walked to find the answers to the kidnapper and the Digital Shift. "Say Sora, didn't one of the frozen people look like that stalker dude?" Takumi asked the keyblade master, who agreed with that statment.
"Did you see that!?" Arata called out as he pointed at a faraway alleyway, they all saw somebody entering. Getting ready to confront the kidnapper! All the while Seudo just stayed back faraway for something, muttering about some stuff.
They went to the area the person went to the corner. and saw a raven haired woman with an oversized paintbrush painting a few words and characters frantically! from the look of Arata, it seemed that she was a friend of his named Nishimo.
"Arata, you came to see my creation." Nishimo said as she turned around to see Arata, who was surprised at this. "What do you mean?" the raven haired hacker asked before his friend turned back to draw in mid air again.
"Are you the one doing the kidnapping?" Takumi asked the woman, who was muttering something. ignoring the half cyber teen, only to have a digimon appear right beside her! the same one Sora, Takumi and their digimons got ready to battle the creature that appeared.
The Digimon, as Arata called the Digimon Wisemon! The cloaked digimon had thrown the dark orb towards them. Only to dodge the attack in time all the while Dorugamon and Gargomon shot a few attacks!
The enemy digimon only dodged Dorugamon's attack, but not Gargomon's as it felt the attack! and Sora ran up to it and summoned a few fireballs as he swung the keybade at the cloacked Digimon.
Wizardmon struck out his staff and shot out a lightning beam. Striking Wisemon with a strong attack! Only to have Wisemon strike back with a strong attack back to Wizardmon, the wizard digimon was blown away by the attack!
crashing into Sora as he too was blown away and into a stack of boxes! Takumi and Arata came to them, asking if they were okay! "Yes, thank you for the concern!" Sora said both he and Wizardmon got up and headed back towards the battle.
Wisemon attack Dorugamon, only to be blocked by Sora's keyblade and directed it away from them! "I'm here to help out people, and protect my friends!" The keyblade master called out as his digivice and keyblade glowed!
And Dorugamon was changing, becoming a bigger creature. Sora's digivice showed Dorugamon's name, only to change into Dorugreymon. And his digimon partner was pretty big now. with crimson fur and white mane, bigger wings and longer neck!
Sora, Takumi and his digimons were in awe from the sight! as well as Dorugreymon himself, but still they needed to fight the Wisemon controlling Arata's friend. and a few knocks from Sora's keyblade and Dorgreymon's huge class. Wisemon was knocked out and disappeared, leaving Nishimo laying on her knees!
"I'm sorry Arata, I only wanted to make a manga for you since the other one was cancelled!" Nishimo cried out, sobbing as she explained. Arata was a big silent, trying to think of something to say to her.
Heading closer to the woman, Arata tried to get close to her. Only to see something familiar and scary, an Eater ready to attack! "Look out!" Sora called out as he, Dorugreymon and Wizardmon attacked the Eater.
Getting the woman out of the way, and Sora and his two digimon partners destroyed the Eater. The area around them began to disappear, getting all of them come back to the Akiba district with Nishimo along with her and Wisemon's victims.
Eventually calling the police, two familiar, Detective Date and Goro were in the scene also. Nishimo admitted to kidnapping the people who went missing, letting one of the police officers.
"If only there was any other way to get Arata's attention…" Nishimo softly said, making Date lift her head up in interest. "Arata you say?" she asked the long raven haired, glasses wearing woman.
"Well, it was fun hanging out. But I have something else to do!" Arata said to Takumi and Sora, getting away from the situation and making both of them confused. "What was that about?" Both of them asked in confusion.
Later, the two of them were back at the detective office. discussing the situation, and Kyoko gave a smile to the both of them. "I'm glad you're able to save the criminal from the Eater, Sora." she said, the keyblade master gave a small heartful giggle.
…Before she went to her coffee lab to test out a new recipe! "I hope you'll find out the future cases, my Watsons!" she said, and the two of them gulped in dispair!
