Wolf Princess Chapter 22

The sun had risen and the castle is barely starting to come alive. Breakfast is being served in the Great Hall and a majority of the Professors are already there consuming their morning meals.

Professor Dumbledore looks up from his breakfast as Professor McGonagall slips into the seat to his left.

"Morning, Minerva," said Professor Dumbledore.

"Morning, Albus," responded Professor McGonagall in kind, claiming her seat. "The weather seems good today."

"Yes," agreed Professor Dumbledore. "A good omen."

"Lets just hope it remains that way," whispered Professor McGonagall, worried about that the days events might bring when she will take their guest to Diagon Alley.

At one point Firenze comes striding into the Great Hall.

"Ah, Firenze," said Dumbledore, kindly. "God morning. Will Miss Numa not be joining us this morning?"

"I passed by Remus on my way here," said Firenze, rounding the table. "He offered to wake Numa from her slumber."

Firenze then digs into some of the fruit laid out on his plate.

A few minutes later Remus enters the Great Gall, but instead of having me beside him he is alone. This does not go unnoticed by any of them,

"Remus," said Firenze, "where is Numa? Why isn't she here accompanying you?"

"I was about to ask you the same question," said Remus. "I went to her chambers to wake her up, but she wasn't there."

"That's strange. I escorted her to those chambers last night. She should be in there."

"Do you think she went back into the Forbidden Forest," said Professor Sprout.

"No," answered Firenze, firmly. "That wouldn't be like her at all. Once she sets her mind to something she always sticks with it and follows through no matter how uncomfortable the situation might be for her."

"Then If she's not in the Forbidden Forest or rooms where in the world can she be," said Professor McGonagall.

"I can answer that."

All of them crane their heads around to find Sir Nicholas peering down at them from the ceiling.

"You know where Numa is, Sir Nicholas," asked Firenze.

"Indeed I do," said Sir Nicholas, nodding and floating down from the enchanted ceiling. "I believe you'll find her residing inside the courtyard."

"The courtyard," stated Remus. "What's she doing there?"

"From what I gather the girl was homesick and decided to rest in a more familiar environmental setting to her," surmised Sir Nicholas.

Tapping his chin thoughtfully, Firenze said "That sounds like something she would do."

"I'd better go get her," offered Remus. "She should be up by now."

"Head straight to the gates when you do," said Professor McGonagall. "I'm nearly finished with my breakfast. I'll meet you there."

"Of course," said Remus, moving towards the doors.

"Remus," called Firenze.

Remus halts and turns just in the nick of time to catch two red apple flying straight at him. He caught them both about an inch from his face.

Smiling, Firenze said "Take these with you. You take one while Numa has the other."

"Thanks," said Remus, appreciating the gesture, turning and continuing on his way out of the Great Hall while taking a bite out of his fruit.

As Remus gets closer to the courtyard an enormous shriek reaches his ears along with a brutal and grotesque string of curses filling the air.

"What the hell," muttered Remus, running towards the direction toward where the noise is originating.

As Remus gets closer to the source of the disturbance he soon realizes that the source of the sounds are coming from the castles courtyard. He's seriously alarmed and concerned thinking that somehow I'm hurt and increases his speed. But once Remus arrives at the courtyard the scene that greets him is actually the opposite to what he originally expected.

Authors Note:

Glad each and every one of you had a Merry Christmas, my friends! Here is your belated present for the holiday! Glad you can enjoy it as I have writing it. And, let's not forget, have a Happy New Year!

Hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

I've been meaning to get back to this one for a while and only now I've managed to find time and inspiration for it. I'm very satisfied and happy about it.

I recently put up some other works I've put out at titled Secret Of Bristol Cove, Predators Redemption, A Revolutionary Romance, Fantine Tezla: Hot Wheels Acceleracers, Magic And the Brave Little Toaster 1, Lavinia: Princess Of Edelweiss, Rorschach's Legend, Watchmen Meets Avengers: The Newest Defender, The 8th Loser, Naomi Poldark: Mistress Of Nampara, Serenity: End Guardian To The Moors, Dido Cruger: Power Rangers SPD, and Nuala: The White Lioness. I highly recommend them. ;D

By the way Rorschach's Legend and Watchmen Meets Avengers: The Newest Defender are the newest additions to my profile. If you're a fan of Watchmen and the new series on HBO coming up soon then I recommend that you check it out. Since it was just recently uploaded I really would enjoy hearing other peoples thoughts on the subject matter so far. So feel free to do so if you have the time.

I have other grand news! I was a patron at New York Comic Con! Ah! I'd been dying to go for years and now I had the opportunity. The Jokers from Impractical Jokers have been here along with Tom Hiddleston and so many others. Over those few days I actually got my picture taken with a couple of other actors/actresses and some really great panels. It really is so exciting there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I was going to waste a single second of it. No one ever should with something like this. Ever! ;D

For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance.
