Wolf Princess Chapter 24

For a moment later, the next thing I knew, everything turns completely black. I am being crushingly pressed very hard from all directions. I can't breathe as if there are iron bands tightening around my chest unconditionally unyielding. It feels similar to the like I am basically being crushed to death from all sides by boulders. My ears are forced deeper and deeper into my head.

Suddenly it then all went away. I gulp in a great deal lungful of air and open my streaming eyes. It felt as though I had just been compelled into the rapids of the river. It is a few seconds before I regain my bearings. Realizing the grounds of Hogwarts have entirely vanished completely from sight and mind.

Professor McGonagall, Remus, and I are now standing in what appears to be a deserted room entirely made of wood. As my comprehension is finally catching up with my senses, I surmise that I had no recognition of where we are. I don't have much time to take all of this in.

As soon as my senses are balanced my body gets up to speed. Releasing Remus's arm I am bent over. With hands on knees I easily expel my breakfast.

Looks of disgust and sympathy appear on the faces of Professor McGonagall and Remus alike as they witness this happen to me. It is different for everyone when they apparated for the very first time, but the sensation is just the same.

"Apparation," I gasp, immediately, heaving the rest of my stomach's contents.

"It's a method of teleportation witches and wizards learn when they reach 17," explained Professor McGonagall. "It's quite a complicated piece of magic and only those with experience are able to do it without any sort of complications. Even the slightest miscalculation will prevent someone from getting their apparition license until they successfully do it right. Apparating without one or not apparating with someone who does put a huge strain on a person's life."

"Apparation is one of the many things we'll be teaching you once the term starts in a couple of days," commented Remus, standing straight and helping me do the same. "Don't worry. The feeling eventually goes away once you've done it a few times whether by yourself or doing side-along apparition. You'll eventually find yourself getting adjusted to it."

"I doubt it," I cough, regaining my composure.

"Now then," said Professor McGonagall, gesturing toward the door, "shall we get going?"

Both Remus and I nod to her.

I haven't exactly been paying attention to what is going on outside the room. I was too busy throwing up to care. Paying more attention to my surrounding I can clearly hear voices on the other side of the dor. This is all I can gather before the three of us enter the room on the other side.

Barely any of the occupants pay much mind to us. Only a tiny handful spared us a single glance before returning to their separate business.

We head for the bar counter where an old man is stationed behind cleaning a bunch of dirty glasses with a rag. As we got closer to him the barman lifts his head from work to peer at us. Unfortunately for the barman any bit of hope in his eyes for customers is soon dashed.

Apologetically, Professor McGonagall said "Sorry, Tom, we won't be having anything right now. Official Hogwarts business."

"But if we have time once we're finished we'll come back for some drinks," assured Remus, kindly.

Tom returns the smile Remus aims at him, but he is only half-hearted. He appears to already suspect that our group won't be returning once our business in Diagon Alley was finished.

As our group walks passed the bar and into another area I am somewhat confused.

"What are we doing in here," I asked, scanning around at the small space.

"Going to Diagon Alley," answered Remus, simply.

"But," I said, bewilderment growing, "weren't we just in Diagon Alley?"

Chuckling, Remus said "Oh that wasn't Diagon Alley. Diagon Alley is far bigger than that."

"Then where was it we just left," I said, motioning behind us.

"That was the Leaky Cauldron. The most popular pub in Europe's magical community, Well known for its food and drink."

"So if that wasn't Diagon Alley then where is it," I asked.

"Just beyond this wall," answered Remus. "There's a special code to ender and you need someone with a wand to get inside. Others apparate or use the Floo Network."

Professor McGonagall taps the stone wall three times on different blocks with the edge of her wand.

At once the bricks begin to quiver. The wall wriggles and as it moved in the middle a small hole appears which just grew wider and wider. A Second later we were facing an archway large enough even for my mother to fit through. An archway onto a stoned street that twists and turns out of sight.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley," said Remus, softly.

Authors Note:

Just a heads up I'm accepting suggestions on numerous shows, books, and movies to write about in the future. You see I'm trying to reach my goal of 100 stories on my profile. Currently I have 1 left to go after this one until I get there. ONE! So think it over and if I feel a connection with what you suggest I'll do it.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

I have other grand news! I was a patron at New York Comic Con 2019! Ah! I'd been dying to go for years and now I had the opportunity. The Jokers from Impractical Jokers have been here along with Tom Hiddleston and so many others. Over those few days I actually got my picture taken with a couple of other actors/actresses and some really great panels. It really is so exciting there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I was going to waste a single second of it. No one ever should with something like this. Ever! ;D

For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance. Unfortunately this year it appears like Comic Con might be skipped not just in New York, but also in all it's regular places during the course of scheduled events. I think we all know the reason for it is plain as day.

The coronavirus.

Can't exactly blame with how dreadful things are getting in escalation and the fact that places like the Javits Center in New York have been temporarily converted into makeshift hospitals in order to deal with the overflow of people contracting infections from this rapidly spreading virus that might as well be called a plague at this point. Let's keep fingers crossed that an aim is to have this pass us before then so things can get back on track. If it is then New York Comic Con might be exactly what people need in order to lighten their spirits after all this darkness. Stay safe everyone and long to eventually see you there.
