Abandoned after birth she had no one to turn to. Raised by a pack of wolves she was taught of the ways of the forest and became one with the other creatures there. Years later she was found by humans and brought back to their world. But danger is on the horizon and it will take everything she has learned to get her through it alive. Along the way she will find love. Remus/OC

26. Chapter 26

Wolf Princess Chapter 26

"Our first stop for the day is Gringotts," said Remus, pointing at a building in front of us. "A wizard's bank. Gringtotts is one of the safest places in the nation for any valuables you wish to keep hidden. Gringotts is quite secure filled with many kids of spells and enchantments to make sure things are locked up tight and nothing can be stolen from any of the vaults."

"But why are we going there," I asked, confused. "I don't have any sort of belongings to put inside."

Professor McGonagall said "We need to open up an account for you. This year you'll be making your own income and whatever you don't spend will be placed into your own vault. Ah, here we are."

The three of us had reached a snowy white building that towers over all of the other miniscule shops. Standing beside its bronze doors is a creature I hadn't seen before.

"Goblins," clarifies Remus, noticing my inquisitive state. "Their kind run Gringotts. They're not exactly the nicest of beings so it's best not to do anything to irritate them."

We then walked up the white stone steps toward the goblin. The goblin about only reaches the top of my waist. He bows to us cordially as we walk inside, entering a vast marble hall. Not as large as the Great Hall in Hogwarts, but still massive nonetheless. Nearly a hundred more goblins are seated on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing different kinds of coins on brass scales, and examining a number of precious stones through magnifying glasses. There are far too many doors to count leading off the hall and yet even more goblins were showing people in and out of there.

"Good morning," said Professor McGonagall. "We've come to take some money out of the Hogwarts vault."

"Do you have the key for it," inquired the goblin.

"Yes, I have it right here," said Remus, taking the key out of a pocket in his robes.

Remus handed the key to the goblins.

"This seems to be in order," stated the goblin.

"We would, also, like to open a new vault," said Professor McGonagall.

"For who," asked the goblin, already knowing that both professors had a vault of their own.

"For her," said Remus, stepping to the side.

The goblin seems surprised to see me standing there. Up until this point he must've just been preoccupied with Remus and McGonagall to see me there.

"And your name is," he inquired.

"Numa," I answered.

The goblin raises an eyebrow at my response. The name I had given was an unusual one and not normally heard among humans. Before the goblin could question us further Professor McGonagall steps in.

"Are there any open vaults available," asked Professor McGonagall, firmly.

Thinking for a moment, the goblin said "There is one open. A client recently passed, and his vault is now open for the taking. It's a high security vault and close by the one owned by Hogwarts."

"That sounds suitable," approved Professor McGonagall. "But just the same we'd prefer to take a look at it after we make a withdrawal from the Hogwarts vault."

"Of course," said the goblin, nodding. "I will have someone take you down to both vaults immediately." He then scours the hall for a goblin that isn't busy at a workstation. "Taloncrick!"

Taloncrick is yet another goblin. As the other goblin went back to work our group follows Taloncrick toward one of the doors connected off the hall. Taloncrick held the door open for us.

Where I was expecting to see more marble, I receive a surprise. We are in a narrow passageway made of stone and lit with numerous flaming torches. It slopes steeply downward and there are little metal tracks attached to the floor. Taloncrick utters a little whistle and a small cart arrives, hurtling up the tracks toward us. The four of us climb in and we are off.

By the way whose been watching House of the Dragon? I am so in love with Prince Daemon. He is a dream. Matt Smith was the perfect person to play that character. Similar to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool no one could've done it better.
