AN: Well, here's chapter five. After this, I'm hoping I can start updating faster. Also, this chapter is pretty long. My longest one ever (in a fan fiction) I think. I couldn't really help it. Typing up this particular fight was just so much fun.

Well, on with the show.

Seraph of Storms

Shinji opened his mouth – and then closed it. Rei stood in front of him, waiting for his reply, but after a minute or so passed and he still hadn't uttered a word, she decided that asking the commander was probably for the best.

"Never mind, Pilot Ikari. I shall just ask the Commander. I am sure he will know if you do not." At this, Rei began to turn around so she could leave, but of course, Shinji called out to her. He couldn't let her speak with his father. That would lead to a whole batch of problems he didn't want to deal with and possibly even his death.

No, just – no. No, no, no, no, no. If she talks to dad… I can already feel the bullet between my eyes, thought Shinji, frowning.

"You don't need to ask him, Rei…" Shinji hesitated here, trying to think of a follow up to that. Even if he told her, Rei was, at this point, more dedicated to his father than even her own life. She would find no reason to hide what she'd been told – not unless he gave her one. "He, um, wanted to tell you himself when the time was right… You and I are siblings; brother and sister… but we were separated at a very young age, shortly after mom died. You hadn't taken her death well, so you don't remember much about her… or me," said Shinji, surprised that he'd come up with something somewhat believable as fast as he had.

Rei stared at him for a moment longer and the Third Child was about to start sweating under her scrutiny – but the she nodded.

"I understand. Thank you for telling me… brother." Smiling faintly in reply to her words, Shinji nodded.

"No problem, Sis. But, uh… about dad… Don't tell him you know, okay? He wants to be the one to tell you. It's important to him. He just – he just doesn't know how to go about it," he replied. Rei, though slightly confused, nodded nonetheless. After that, they chatted for a little, which ended in Shinji saying he'd take her shopping one of these days. His reasons being she should have more clothes to wear and that siblings should try and get along. Once she agreed and left the room, Shinji closed the door, locked it, and let out a sigh of relief.

"Smooth lie you pulled off there," came a voice from behind the boy. His spine stiffened until he realized he recognized it. Sighing yet again, he turned around and came face to face with his angelic sister.

"You too." She raised a brow at his response. "You were supposed to be back after I woke up. That was two days ago."

"Ah. Sorry. There was a little meeting between our kin… I had to prepare for it." Shinji nodded, intending to question her about that as well. As for right now though, he would start from where he'd left off.

"I've got questions."

"And I, brother, probably have the answers."

"What's going on? The Angels aren't coming in the same order as in my dimension. I don't understand and it's throwing me off," he said, hoping that this was just a onetime thing.

"What made you think," replied Leliel as she floated into a chair next to his bed, "That there was ever any particular order at all? They come when they see fit. The next of our kin could be here tomorrow and for all you know, it could be Tabris. Do not rely too heavily on your past experiences, brother. They could betray you. There may even be one or two of our kin here, which did not exist in your world. Besides, there are Lilin who exist here, whom did not exist in your dimension. That alone could change everything about this place. Do not underestimate what the actions of a single Lilin can alter. You're your own best example."

Shinji frowned at this. The fights were already hard enough despite the fact he knew what the angels he'd fought so far were capable of. Now he had to deal with them possibly being out of order? And some he hadn't even encountered before? His situation was starting to get more complex by the second…

"Right," groaned the Third Child, "Okay… I'll have to deal with that. What did you want to discuss with me? You said we had much to discuss the last time we talked."

"Yes… you've unlocked your distinction as an angel, brother, but much like many of our abilities, it relies on your A.T. Field. Unfortunately, this is not something you can go without learning. You need to practice, and thus, whenever you're in the cousin, you must try and use it. It will be nothing noticeable at first, I assure you, but eventually you will be able to use it like you did against Shamshel."

"Cousin…?" was Shinji's first question.

"I believe you Lilin call them Evangelions," replied Leliel, not understanding such a name. They were made from angels to combat angels. Why did they not just refer to them as such? Or at the very least, call them man-made angels? She did not understand why her cousins, needed to be referred to as anything aside from what they truly were.

"I see, I guess you'll have to teach me how to use it then… um," started Shinji, frowning, "So basically… it's a trial by fire…?" Leliel, familiar with the phrase, simply nodded. There was really no other way to describe it.

The Third Child swore.

==X==

"So, Asuka." Though she knew she would regret it, the redhead turned to her cousin nonetheless.

"What is it Mari?" she asked as she brushed her hair. Mari – who was lying on the bed, but not looking at her – smirked playfully. Turning a page in the magazine she was reading, she replied.

"Why'd you take me with you into Unit 02? And not say… oh, I don't know, the cutie?"

Asuka groaned.

"First off, he's not even that cute."

"Ah," grinned Mari, "but you admit he is cute." Asuka blushed prettily and nearly threw down her brush. Rounding on her cousin, she glared at her. Annoyed that Mari had actually gotten the better of her, she was determined to never let it happen again. She would find herself thinking this same line multiple times in the future.

"Shut up, Mari. Anyway, I figured I should let him see how a real pilot fights." Mari snorted.

"He doesn't need to watch us to know that though. He could just re-watch footage of his own battles, I'm sure." Asuka's glare intensified exponentially before she turned away from her cousin, picked up her brush, and continued running it through her hair.

"Bitch."

"Hello pot, my name is kettle. And you know, it sounds to me like you just want him to be impressed by you. That's how you're gonna seduce him, eh? Make him think you're awesome and then reel him in so you can hop on his big, lo-"

Mari was cut off as the brush flew into her head with a thud. Clutching her cranium, she looked over to see Asuka's face as red as a tomato. As her hotheaded cousin tried to sputter a response, Mari smirked.

"I was so right."

"Go to fucking hell, Mari!" Snickering, Mari skipped towards the door, intending to leave as to avoid further injury. Opening the door, she stepped out, but right before she was going to close the door she peeked back in and smiled.

"Not my fault you need to get laid." With that, she closed the door and made her way down the hall; smiling as if oblivious to the enraged screams of her cousin coming from their room.

Oh, how I love teasing her.

==X==

"Speaking of abilities, Leliel," said Shinji, his curses having passed "You are using yours. Your Dirac abilities and all that, right now, right?" Leliel nodded, not yet understanding where he was going with his questioning.

"Of course, it's what allows me to talk to you unhindered and undetected."

"But… you said it relies on your A.T. Field… which is how Nerv detects angels… how can you be using it to keep us from being found talking together…?"

"Oh, that is simple, brother Seraphiel. You see, I am a Sera-" Leliel stopped abruptly as her eyes grew wide, fright filling them. "Oh – oh no."

"Leliel? What's wrong?" asked Shinji, now concerned.

"I have been… far too careless. Brother, did you bring the cousins with you to this ship?" Shinji nodded, not liking that she brought up the Evangelions. He'd told Misato that maybe they should bring them just in case when he heard they would be going to the Over the Rainbow. Misato had said Asuka and Mari could handle Gaghiel and thus he didn't need to sortie, so Units 00 and 01 hadn't gotten any use, but now…

"Quickly, you must go to them! We have little time," replied Leliel, her voice growing panicked.

"Why?" asked Shinji, nervously, "What's going on? What's about to happen?!"

"I will explain later, brother! Just hurry, we must prepa-"

But it was too late for that. Leliel was cut off as the ship shook and a flood of sound rang true across the sky.

"Ye mere Lilin thought me dead. Ye thought the cousins, incomplete and lacking in the blessings of the father, could best me." Shinji had been running down the hall, heading towards the hanger ever since the voice had begun speaking. Reaching his destination he opened the door and made a beeline for Unit 01, its entry plug already open and waiting in its back as if it had known a storm was brewing on the horizon. Hopping in, he started up the purple behemoth and made his way out to the deck.

"Ye thought wrong – and now you shall pay for your arrogance." Shinji looked into the sky. The first thing he saw was four massive wings, their flapping kicking up a terrible wind.

"When I move, gale force winds follow at my back, decimating all in my path." A single, long reptile-like tail trailed from the beast's massive, pale white body. Its underbelly was blue, the same color as the water that seemed to be floating out of the ocean in tendrils, trying to meet its body.

"A flick of my tail brings forth tidal waves." The creature had no arms or legs, but it did have two long, winding necks, which led to its large shark-like heads. Gaghiel's gaping maws were riddled with razor sharp teeth. In each mouth was a single red sphere – its cores.

"My roar," said the twin headed behemoth, its body blocking out the light of the sun, eclipsing all below it, "Calls forth Hurricanes. Ye Lilin dared to raise your hand against the father, and now I shall smite thee. I will crush your defiance, tear away your arrogance and leave ye with nothing before flooding this world. I am the harbinger of typhoons, the father of all tsunamis. I am the Seraph of Storms – I am Gaghiel."

The enraged Seraph flapped its massive wings and seconds later four tornadoes touched down on the ocean's surface. Shinji grit his teeth as he willed his A.T. Field to life, his sync ratio skyrocketing from the 90's to the 130's in a flash.

"And now ye shall bear witness to the might of a Seraph." The next few seconds played out in slow motion for the Third Child. The tornadoes moved forward, Misato's voice flooded his ears, barking orders. Shinji caught movement at his sides as he saw Units 00 and 02 jumped to other ships to try and get closer to their target. He hadn't even noticed they showed up. As for himself, he expanded his A.T. Field, boosting its output to its max and met the four swirling masses of wind in a battle of dominance.

Time seemed to speed up as cracks spider webbed across Shinji's A.T. Field. He knew it wouldn't hold. Unit 01's feet slid across the ship, scraping against it causing the horrid screech of metal against metal.

"Shinji!" called Misato. Still focusing on not dying, Shinji replied curtly.

"What?" he ground out.

"Try and hold those tornadoes back for at least another minute. Not many of the personnel had returned to the Over the Rainbow after Gaghiel's last attack, but the few that did are evacuating again. Give us time!" Shinji's reply was merely a grunt as a new voice intruded on his thoughts.

"This is the answer to your question, brother Seraphiel. There exist a few of us amongst our kin that are of a higher order. We are Seraphs, and when we die we transcend our old forms, grow in power, and reform our core to do battle once more," said Leliel, "When a version of me in another dimension met her end, it affected me here, and I became the Seraph of Movement. In turn, killing Gaghiel caused his transcendence. That is probably why he went down with so little a fight. He wanted to change. I am… sorry, I forgot to tell you this. I had much to think about and it… slipped my mind."

Slipped your mind is the largest understatement of this situation I could ever imagine… well, maybe not. At least she didn't just look at me and say "oops," thought Shinji.

"Hey!" Shinji snapped out of his thoughts, looking back to the screen to see Asuka's face.

"What?" He replied, curt once again. He was hoping she didn't try to gloat about her not getting caught in a tornado while he had right now, because he needed to be as concentrated as possible to hold back the tornadoes. More cracks spider webbed across his A.T. Field and a piece of it had just broken off, vanishing before it could even fall into the sea – that wasn't good.

"Need help?" If the Third Child had not been looking at her when she said that he'd probably have done a double-take. Asuka could probably help him out a bit, but he doubted that even the two of them could hold back the tornadoes for too much longer than he could alone.

"No…" he said, gritting his teeth as his feet slid again, getting dangerously close to the edge of the ship. "Not that it wouldn't be appreciated," he continued, "but you and Rei should focus on killing it." Asuka hesitated a moment, but soon nodded before vanishing from his screen.

And that's when everything went to hell.

I admire how hard thou tryest brother, your determination is amazing and under different circumstances, I would be proud to call thee kin – but thou stand against our father. Gaghiel's voice intruded into Shinji's mind. It had begun nice enough, but had taken an abrupt and venomous turn at the end.

So now ye must die.

Those were all the words Gaghiel gave before the four tornadoes came together, growing larger and larger as their power intensified. The cracks in Shinji's A.T. Field spider webbed again and then it shattered.

The massive tornado pushed forward, slamming into Shinji and the Over the Rainbow. The ship was lifted into the air and torn apart by the deadly winds while Unit 01 had managed to escape, falling into the water.

"Any advice?" asked Shinji, thinking that they'd definitely need it. He wasn't sure if Leliel could help though. If a Seraph form only manifested after death, how would she know what one was capable of?

"Luckily for you, every one of our kin belonging to the higher order has some understanding of the other Seraphs. I don't know everything, but I'll try to help." Shinji nodded. He'd take anything she could offer.

"Obviously brother, Gaghiel has control over the winds and the waves. That said, I think you should do your best to get out of the water. Though his body is rather large he is a speed demon in the sky, and with no arms or legs, he uses his tail and his two heads to do anything that requires grip. As it stands, you and the other cousins won't be able to lay a hand on him. I suggest finding some land and then figuring out a way to ground him. In addition, if you don't destroy both cores at once, the remaining one will regenerate the destroyed one. Right now, that's all I know. Good luck." Shinji grunted and started swimming back to the surface.

==X==

Above the waves, Misato looked down at the water from the copter she'd evacuated on and cursed. Shinji had managed to give her the time she needed, and he'd paid a price for doing so. The only one who had gone down with the ship had been the captain as he refused to get off, saying his Warship could handle some wind. He'd been an idiot, and he'd paid for it.

Looking to the left, out of the window in the helicopter she was in, she saw three more copter's but these were far larger than her own, and that was because they were meant as transportation for the Evangelions, equipped with a small armory and umbilical cables. The cables drew power from pre-charged batteries on the copter's. The energy was good for an hour of use and Misato hoped to… Not-God (she still refused to hope to god, considering they were fighting Angels and all, she certainly didn't think her hopes would be answered) that the fight didn't last longer than that or worse – that Gaghiel didn't sever the cables.

On two of the copters, hanging from cables attached to them, were Units 00 and 02. Both Asuka and Rei were firing away at the Angel with palette rifles. It wasn't doing them any good though. Every bullet was thrown off course by the strong winds, swirling around in a tornado that turned the ammo back on them. The two female pilots raised their A.T. Fields, saving themselves from being filled with lead.

"Scheisse!" screamed Asuka as she reloaded again. This was getting them nowhere. She knew it, Misato knew it, and Rei probably knew it too. What could they do though? They needed a plan and without the Third Child they weren't running at full capacity anyway. Speaking of him, he'd been under the water for nearly five minutes. He'd been lucky enough to have an umbilical cable on the ship, but with it destroyed he was running on battery and he didn't have much time left in that.

"Lieutenant Colonel," called Rei over Asuka's cursing, "I believe we need a plan. Our current approach is not compatible with our enemy. What do you recommend?" Misato frowned, honestly not having any idea right now. They were on Gaghiel's playing field; this was a home game and they were the away team.

"I'm sorry, Rei, I-"

"I've got one." The three women snapped their eyes to the water below them as Unit 01 burst out of it, somehow launching itself into the air and grabbing hold of the cable of the remaining copter for the Evas. Quickly attaching a new cable, Shinji glared at Gaghiel. The Seraph sent a tidal wave at them in reply, seeming to get serious now that Unit 01 was back in the game. The copters quickly ascended, narrowly avoiding the wave.

"Above us!" screeched Misato. Gaghiel, fast as the wind, had already maneuvered itself above them.

"I got it!" responded Shinji, using the cable keeping him from falling into the ocean to swing above his copter as Gaghiel dive bombed. Shinji met Gaghiel head on, and with an A.T. Field enhanced punch, he broke some of the teeth in Gaghiel's jaw, knocking it off course. The Seraph did not simply take such an assault though, and with its tail, it grabbed onto one of the purple behemoth's legs and tossed it into an incoming hurricane.

Fucking seriously?! Raged Shinji in his mind. Quickly bringing forth another A.T. Field, he met the combination of wind and water as his prog knife popped out of his shoulder. Gripping it as it vibrated to life, Shinji cut through Gaghiel's tail before using his A.T. Field as a spring. He reached out, nearing the cable of his copter once more but he could see Gaghiel gaining on him.

Not gonna make it…

Gaghiel was just about to bite into Unit 01's legs when two rockets smashed into its body, throwing it off course. Sighing in relief, Shinji managed to grab the cable as the machines put distance between themselves and the Seraph.

"Don't think you can steal all the spot light, Third!" called Asuka over the comms. Shinji couldn't help but smile. She wasn't as different as he thought she'd be.

"That was a fairly reckless maneuver, pilot Ikari." The Third Child made a mental note to remind himself to get Rei to call him by his first name soon, but aside from that he was slightly surprised to hear some worry in her voice. It was buried – fairly well at that – behind all her indifference and monotone, but it was there.

"Shinji, I wanna say I'll kill you if you do that again," started Misato, sighing, "but considering our situation… that would just be wrong. So, what's this plan of yours?"

"We need to knock it out of the sky. It's got too much control here… and I suspect it has equal control in the water, so I suggest finding some land. Deserted if we can manage it. After that… well, I'll tell you the rest if we live that long." Truth is, that's as far as his plan had gotten, but he wasn't going to say that out loud. Grunting, slightly unhappy with his reply, Misato turned to the pilot of her helicopter.

"Well, you heard him. Relay that message now!" The pilot did just that and soon, they found themselves changing course.

"It's back!" called Asuka. Her fellow pilots looked to see Gaghiel gaining on them like never before. It was heading right for Asuka. The pilot of her copter veered to the right, barely avoiding Gaghiel's charge. Asuka used the sudden motion to swing her knee into Gaghiel's underbelly. The Seraph roared and its tail, which had regenerated, whipped towards Unit 02.

It would have impaled the red giants stomach if not for Rei. Swinging on the cable, she'd gotten close enough to Gaghiel's tail to chop it off with her prog knife.

"Ye vermin are wearing on my patience."

"Sounds like you're just bitching about getting your tail cut off again, you over grown flying lizard!" Screaming this, Asuka readied the rocket launcher she'd used earlier, slammed it into Gaghiel's side after nearing him again, and fired. The point blank assault caused a pained cry to escape the flying behemoth and it descended to avoid a second attack.

Gaghiel did not stay down long.

Raising its twin heads, a pale pink light grew in its mouths.

"Is he seriously about to…?" Wondered Shinji, quickly opening communications between him and the pilot of his copter so he could have him fly between Asuka and Rei.

Yes, erect your A.T. Field, came Leliel's voice, directly in his mind, I shall assist you and offer mine, masking it beneath yours. I suspect what is coming will not be all he throws at us. Hopefully, no one will notice my own A.T. FIeld, brother.

Nodding, Just as Shinji moved between Asuka and Rei, Gaghiel let loose two beams. They crashed into the double-layered A.T. Field Shinji and Leliel had created. Splaying across the hexagonal wall, the beam soon dissipated, only to reveal another hurricane. Leliel had been right; Gaghiel had thrown more at them than just the beams. Shinji defended, but the winds caught hold of the copter keeping Unit 00 airborne and it quickly started to fall to the waters below.

"Rei!" yelled Misato and Shinji, the Third Child actually able to do something about the situation, reached out and grasped Rei's arm. Her Umbilical cable snapped as the copter it the turbulent waters below and 5 minute clock started to count down for Unit 00.

"We've got land!" called the pilot of Misato's helicopter.

"Bring us down!" the Lieutenant Colonel barked back. The pilot relayed the information to the other two pilots and they moved to the island just ahead of them. Though Gaghiel was in pursuit, they managed to reach the island and the Evangelions quickly touched down.

"I am sorry," said Rei, "I only have four minutes of power remaining and counting. I will do all I can to assist in the defeat of the Angel until that time."

"It's fine, Rei. Not your fault," replied Shinji as Gaghiel floated overhead. The Third Child frowned as he analyzed the situation. Rei had a little less than 4 minutes left. After that she'd be a sitting duck. They needed to at least get Gaghiel out of the sky before then or she'd likely become a target.

"We need that stupid lizard to drop," growled Asuka, unloading her clip into the air, trying to catch the rapidly moving Gaghiel.

I may have an idea… it's your best bet. Leliel was speaking again.

What is it? asked Shinji in reply, I'm definitely open to suggestions.

As a Seraph, one of my new abilities is being able to share my ability to move through the Dirac with my kin. You've only got one shot, as it will take a lot out of me, but I can drop you right onto Gaghiel's back. If you are knocked off, I can't do this again, but if you can disable his wings, you have a chance. Just kill him before he regenerates them.

Shinji nodded as he gave his angelic sister the go-ahead. He'd have to find a way to explain this later, but since the Evangelions are still quite the mystery to even their creators, he didn't think that would be too hard to do.

I'm coming for you, Gaghiel.

And just as those thoughts passed through the Third Child's mind a black hole appeared beneath him. He dropped through, vanishing from sight instantly.

==X==

Misato – putting it mildly – freaked. The. Fuck. Out. Seeing Shinji just vanish into the ground unnerved her so badly her body shook. She thought Gaghiel had done something, some power it had yet to show, but when a black hole opened up above Gaghiel and Shinji dropped down atop it's back her jaw slackened. Her eyes widened.

What the fuck is going on?!

==X==

Landing atop his massive kin, Shinji immediately went to work. He'd need to be quick, as his Umbilical cable had been severed when he dropped into the Dirac. Grabbing hold of Gaghiel's wings, they began to fall. Standing on Gaghiel's back Shinji's grip tightened and he began to pull. If he could, he'd try and use his new found distinction as an Angel to speed up the process, but since Leliel hadn't had the chance to tell him how to actually access his power over silence, brute strength would have to make due. Grunting as he gave one final pull, Shinji ripped Gaghiel's wings off, eliciting an agony filled roar from the Seraph's twin heads that left the Third Child feeling quite satisfied.

Using his kin as a spring board, Shinji let it drop as he briefly ascended – until he saw Gaghiel's course.

"Shit! It's falling towards the ocean! Someone stop it!" Immediately, Unit 00 began a mad dash towards the falling Seraph and right before Gaghiel could hit the water, Rei grabbed its tail (that had regenerated yet again) and tossed it to land where it was met with a double fisted hammer blow to its body, courtesy of Asuka, that sent it crashing into the ground. Sand and dirt flew into the air, making a decent screen of dust. No one saw any movement from where Gaghiel had fallen though. Unit 01 crash landed a little behind the red leviathan and Shinji sighed heavily.

"That was close…" he breathed.

I'm afraid it's not over just yet, brother. Look.

On Leliel's warning, Shinji turned to see Gaghiel's body through the sand and dirt. The Seraph's body elongated as the stumps that used to be wings shrunk into it. Faster than any of them could respond, it took off towards the shore, slithering across the earth as the cloud of dirt and sand cleared.

"This persistent piece of shit!" screeched Misato, "Kill it, damn it!"

"My time is up," said Rei as Unit 00 slumped to the ground, "I am sorry I could not provide further assistance."

"You did fine, wonder girl!" barked Asuka as she and Shinji rushed towards Gaghiel. The lead he had on them would prove to be too large though and he quickly slithered into the ocean only for a towering, swirling, cylinder of water to surround the island soon after. Gaghiel swam through it, circling his enemies like a shark before the Seraph stopped abruptly and let loose another round of beams from his gaping maws. Shinji and Asuka were quick to block against them, but had to repeat the action seconds later when Gaghiel did it again from behind.

"What are we supposed to do now?!" growled the red head. Mari, for the first time since the fight started, spoke up.

"I think… I have an idea. Asuka probably won't like it though."

"Just speak up," order Misato. As long as they all lived, it didn't matter is Asuka liked it or not. She was going to do it and if she failed, they would have all died anyway, so there was no point in refusing at this point.

"Well," started Mari as Shinji and Asuka blocked a beam that had come dangerously close to the copters, "I noticed that the Angel pauses before it fires, and only moves afterwards… Gaghiel's just so fast it doesn't matter. Asuka needs to disconnect her cable… After that Shinji's going to need to pick up Unit 02… and throw it when Gaghiel's about to fire."

She was met with silence.

"What?!" screeched Asuka. The silence hadn't lasted long at all.

"Yeah… told ya' that you weren't gonna like it. When Gaghiel Fires you can erect your A.T. Field and basically make Gaghiel's beams explode in its face. That should destroy the cores, considering they're in the Angel's mouths. I'd say you could throw Shinji, Asuka," Mari said as she saw her cousin open her mouth, already predicting what changes she wanted to make to the plan, "But he doesn't have much time left. If his Eva loses power mid-flight we're dead… besides," she smirked here, "Would you want him to take all the glory from the kill if he does make it?" The hidden taunt in the message was enough. Asuka bristled, turned to Shinji and uttered two words as her cable fell to the ground below.

"Throw me."

"Uh… right," Replied the Third Child as he hefted Unit 02 above him and prepared himself. He knew Evas were strong and could toss things as heavy as one of their own around like nothing, but he wasn't sure how things would work out with him this low on power. The two of them waited and with five seconds left on Shinji's battery Gaghiel popped up behind them.

"Turn around!" ordered Misato. Spinning on his heels as fast as he could, Shinji launched Asuka towards Gaghiel, aiming as best as the abruptness of the situation would allow. Right after the throw, Unit 01 went silent.

"Die!" Yelled Asuka as she tore through the air, closing in on Gaghiel so quickly he couldn't fire until she was right on him. The Seraph could see how this could possibly end unwell for him, but she was too close – and he couldn't stop anymore. Letting loose the twin blast, it bared down on Asuka's A.T. Field. Unfortunately for Gaghiel, While Asuka was thrown back down to the island below from the impact, she'd been too close. The blast had rebounded on him, connecting with his two cores and reducing them to small fragments on impact.

Asuka landed on the beach below as the water cylinder fell back into the ocean, Gaghiel's body following it.

"That… actually worked," sighed Mari in obvious relief, breaking the silence that had settled over them.

"You didn't think it would?!" screamed Asuka. Shinji listened to her yell at Mari after that, laughing as the red head went off. She was pissed, but that didn't matter. They'd actually won. They'd pulled off the seemingly impossible.

They'd just killed an Angel of the highest order. One of the Seraphs had fallen.

Scheisse – Shit

Review please! I'd love to hear what you guys think about this chapter. Guess you guys know what a Seraph is now, the more important question is, what other Angels hold the power of one? And how will that affect the fight? Also, made a little reference in this chapter to another anime. Can you guess which one it is?
