Hanging On The Edge-Ch 25
Derek stood nervously looking out over the guests, he couldn't wait much longer to see his baby girl, even though it had only been about half an hour he was missing her desperately, Reid laughed and said, "don't worry she'll be here soon", Derek said, "I've never felt this way before Reid, she's all I can think about, when I'm with her I never want to leave and when I'm not with her all I want to do is be with her". Reid put his hand on Derek's shoulder and said, "that's love Derek and that's the way I am with Jayje and the way Hotch is with Em, I'd say", Hotch nodded his head in agreement and said, "and that feeling will only get stronger and stronger", the three men smiled at each other and then their attention turned to the back of the yard as the music started to play.
Everybody turned to watch as first Emily and then JJ made her way up the path, they looked so beautiful in their dresses, next came Henry and Jack, each carrying a pillow with a ring attached to the pillow by a pinner ribbon, to say that JJ, Reid, Em and Hotch were proud of their sons was an understatement and when the boys got to the front of the aisle they went and stood in front of their fathers. Derk felt his heart racing and then it was like his heart calmed down when the music changed to the bridal march, everybody sood up and turned around to watch as Dave and Penelope appeared behind them.
Derek smiled at her and she instantly smiled back and boom all of his nervousness was gone, it was just like what Reid and Hotch had told him before the ceremony started, she was all he could see now, his love for her was all that he could feel and he wanted it to always be that way and as he watched her walking closer and closer to him he knew that's how it would always be. When Dave and Penelope made it to the front of the aisle Dave took her hand and put it in Derek's, he then kissed her on the cheek and said, "we love you so much kitten", she said, "I love you all so much too", she then kissed him on the cheek and stood beside Derek watching as Dave walked over and stood beside Fran and the others.
When the music stopped it was then that Derke and Penelope's attention turned to the minister, he looked around at the guests, then smiled at them and the soon to be married couple, he then said, "you may be seated" and motioned for the guests to take their seats, when they were all down he blew out a deep breath as he readied to start the ceremony. He said, "dearly beloved, we are gathered here in the presence of God and these witnesses to join together in the bonds of holy matrimony Derek Michael Morgan and Penelope Grace Garcia", they glanced at each other for a few seconds before turning their attention back o the minister.
He said a quick prayer and then looked out over the crowd and siad, "who gives this woman to this man in marriage?", Dave stood up and said, "her team and I do", the minister smiled and watched as Dave sat back down beside Fran, he then looked at the couple standing in front of him and asked for the rings and it was then that Henry and Jack stepped forward and took the rings off of the pillows and put them in the center of the ministers bible just like they had practiced. they had both done an amazing job and after they were finished they walked back over and stood in front of their fathers, JJ and Emily smiled and winked at their sons to let them know that they had done a good job and that they were proud of them.
The minister then looked at Derek and said, "Derek, take this ring and put it on Penelope's finger and then repeat after me", Derek took the ring and gently slid it onto her ring finger, he then said, "I Derek, take you Penelope to be my lawfully wedded wife, I promise to love, honor and cherish you in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, forsaking all others for as long as we both shall live". Penelope then looked at the minister as he said, "Penelope, take this ring and put it on Derek's finger and repeat after me", she nervously took the ring and put it on his left ring finger, she then smiled lovingly at him as she opened her mouth and got ready to repeat after the minister.
Everybody listened as she said, "I Penelope, take you Derek to be my lawfully wedded husband I promise to love, honor and cherish you in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, forsaking all others for as long as we both live", she then smiled at him as he gently squeezed her hand, the minister smiled at them as they looked up at him. He then said, "if there is anyone here that can show just cause why these two can't be lawfully joined, let them speak now or forever hold their peace", no sooner had he finished the last word then beepers started going off all over the yard, Derek and Penelope looked aorund to see Derek's team stand up, Chris said, "we're sorry but we've got to go, congratulations you two and we wish you a life filled with love, peace, joy and happiness", they all smiled and waved at the happy couple as they quickly made their way across the yard.
The minister then said, "by the powers vested in me by this state, I now pronounce you husband and wife", he looked at Derek and siad, "Derek, you may kiss your bride", Derek cupped her face in his hands and leaned in and pressed his lips against hers in a gently, loving kiss and when they pulled apart the guests smiled as they heard, "ladies and gentlemen it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Derek Morgan", as the happy couple leaned in for another kiss the air was filled with the sound of hands clapping and the shouts of congratulations of their family, cementing their bond as husband and wife.
