CHAPTER 95

In Calgary, Edward Monclay received the telegram from Judge Bill Avery, and to his surprise the name of Commander Wynn Delayne, the great commander, came with it. Edward knew Mr. Wynn from his childhood, when he and Frankison played with and looked after Elizabeth. At first, he was very jealous of Frankison, because he could see his love for his friend, they were inseparable, they couldn't get away from each other. At that time, in his teenage years, Edward dreamed of marrying Elizabeth, a fairytale wedding with a beautiful princess, but Lady Grace banished him from Thatcher Manor as if he were a disgusting insect, she didn't want him near her daughter anymore, and to his despair, he discovered that Frankison was also forbidden to see his cousin. Even as they grew up, he always found a way to see Elizabeth, always sneaking into school and always bringing her chocolate cake, her favorite. He loved to see her eyes light up as she savored the cakes, and it always pained him to see the belt marks on her arms and legs. She was just a child and they beat her like that. And today he, a man with a degree and a mountie, was still horrified to think that all the professionals at the school saw those assaults, but closed their eyes pretending not to see. The power of the Thatchers' wealth was too great. Unfortunately, as a boy, he couldn't protect her at the time. Edward thought of Charles, they were the same age and even studied in the same class, and that young man always made advances on poor Elizabeth, but he never imagined that the situation would reach this level of aggression.

"I'm going to protect Elizabeth and I'm going to protect Malyn and her son from any harm that Charles or the Thatcher family can do. "

And now with that telegram in his hands, he realized that the danger was even greater, but Elizabeth was well taken care of with Jack, a judge and her uncle involved, and now he would be there too.

He headed for the hospital where Malyn was. Today she would be discharged later that day, and if she agreed from there, they would leave for Hope Valle, so when they arrived at the hospital, he explained everything to her and a decision was made.

Edward packed baskets of fruit, very nutritious food for a pregnant woman with lots of sealed vegetables, salads, grains, meats, as well as plenty of water so that she would be well fed during those days on the road, as they would be five long and tiring days, but Edward was determined to protect her from everything. There were blankets, and he even stopped at a simple store and bought four maternity dresses, as he realized that she only had one and it was a bit tight. The saleswoman also chose intimate items that were packaged and sealed, so she wouldn't be embarrassed to receive them. Edward smiled to himself... "He had never taken such good care of a woman as he was doing now, and he was feeling very happy about it. "

Bill received a visit from Ned in the evening at his home.

He had to be honest, this man took his job very seriously, he had no time for work...

Urgent-Bill /Wynn

Departure 5pm-arrival 5 days-Edward Monclay

Bill smiled and went out onto the veranda, where Charlote was waiting for him with a hot cup of coffee. He sat down in the rocking chair and after sipping his coffee, pulled Charlote into his arms. He told her everything he knew about Edward and Malyn and asked for her help. After all, this girl had already suffered a lot and society could be very cruel.

Charlote couldn't have been prouder of Bill than she was right now. This rough man on the outside had a heart of gold... she loved him very much and it was impossible not to love such a rare jewel. And lifting her face, she looked into his green eyes, and before she had even finished saying I love you, her lips were joined in a big kiss, a passionate kiss, where their tongues touched and searched for something more. Bill pulled her onto his lap and his grip around her waist made her moan into his mouth. Her mouth was hot and wet and now their bodies were touching, sparking a fire in Bill and a desire to take that woman and take her to his bed, where they could love each other and become one..., but Bill knew they had to stop, at least for now... but she was irresistible, it was just one more kiss and just one more, and another... he knew it wouldn't be right, they had to wait until the wedding and so, embracing that fiery woman in his arms, he interrupted the kiss and whispered in her ear:

- I want you so much Charlote, but it's not time yet...

- Bill! She said breathlessly, her face sunk into his neck... I want you.

- Soon, love! Soon... sighed Bill. There was nothing better for him than hearing those words from his beloved. He was on cloud nine. He needed to sit down and talk to the boys, and it would be the next morning, because he wanted to marry his beloved within the next few days.

So, immersed in the promise of love and enveloped in the euphoria of the moment, Bill felt himself floating on clouds of happiness. A passionate sigh echoed in his chest and his beloved's sweet words were like an enchanting melody. Determined to make this dream a reality, he mentally anticipated the conversation he would have with his friends the next morning. The desire to get married in the next few days pulsed in his heart, creating an electrifying anticipation for the outcome of this love story he was about to live.
