Little Mac went to Kirby's to watch the Round 5 tournament. The two didn't want to go to the lobby because the other smashers might harass her. He brought some snacks to watch. He tried talking to her and saying commentary when something crazy would happen, but she only used short replies. She's still sad because she lost the tournament he thought. He understood. She was close to winning it all, but she held back for some reason which he still wanted to ask. She didn't look so good, so he decided to stay silent.

Zelda lost round 5 immediately. Little Mac cheered when she lost. He figured Kirby would be happy, but she still looked sad. Man, this tournament weighed on her down.

"It's ok, Kirby. You'll get em next year," Little Mac said.

"Mhm."
"I mean it! You're really strong. You got this!"

"Mhm."

"Haha, anyway, are you hungry?"

"No."
"What! You're always hungry."

She shrugged her shoulders avoiding eye contact with him.

"Hmm, oh does Gummy want me to get some cake."

He saw that she wanted to smile. A nice tug on her lips appeared for half a second. This made him gain confidence.

"What about a strawberry shortcake?"

"Hmph!" She turned her head away.

"Cheesecake next to a perfect scrumptious Strawberry shortcake with extra whip cream."

She crossed her arms and forced her face to look angry, but he knew she was happy. She just doesn't want to be happy. It was cute seeing her being all fussy.

"How about this, you can stay angry for now, but once I get the two delicious cakes, then you have to be happy," Little Mac suggested.

"No!"

"Well I'm gonna get cake anyway. You better be happy when I'm back."
"Hmph!"

"Haha! Fussy girl," He patted her hair.

Little Mac left to go to the smash bakery to get cake. It was late, so he hoped that the place was still open. If not, he can go to the grocery store and find something else. Luckily the smash grocery store is open 24/7. He began walking, but he heard footsteps. Someone is following him. He turned around to see Kirby with a pouty face. He couldn't help but smile as she caught up to him. She wanted to pick out her own cake. Aww how cute.

Metaknight woke up in a bunker. He was in a cage. He could easily cut this cage down, but his sword galaxia was gone. He tried to summon it, but it didn't appear.

Mario appeared. Ah, so this is his secret underground bunker. How convenient. He saw Sonic and Ness guarding the plumber, as he worked on a machine. It was at the end of the wall. The capsules were like a wall leading to this machine. Metaknight figured that's probably where he's going to end up. He looked around the cage to see if there was anything he could use to get out. Nothing. Mario clapped his hands and cheered. It looks like the machine is working now. That's what Metaknight figured anyway.

"Well Sir Metaknight, are you ready to go in the machine?" Mario laughed.

"Hmm, I can only assume that I'm going to get brainwashed."

"Nope. You'll become a host instead."

"I see."

"You seem excited. Well I am too! This machine will heal you right up too! Sorry if my boys hurt you."

"Using your henchmen to fight me. Not very honorable of you, Mario."

"I don't-a care. All I care about is winning."

"Is that why you're winning the tournament with no problems?"

"I'm winning the tournament because I'm the strongest."
"Hmph! I disagree."

"Whatever! Soon, you'll become dumb and helpless like that dirty dark vulture."

"So, you took Dark Pit, as well."

"He knew my secret. I couldn't let him be free any longer."

Mario ordered his henchmen to unlock the chains and grab Metaknight. He was paralyzed. He couldn't move. They must've done something to him while he was asleep. He had no choice, but to watch himself get closer and closer to the machine.

"This is-a goodbye, Metaknight. Oh but don't worry, you won't lose yourself," Mario said.

"What do you mean?"
"You'll be fully aware."

"Tch! You'll regret this Mario. Soon, the others will know what a terrible beast you are."

"Haha! Doubt it! Everyone here is stupid. After all, it's-a me, Mario. Who doesn't love me?"

"I don't."

"Well you will once I fix you."

Lucas saw that Ness texted him back! He actually texted him back! He said that he has feelings for him. He couldn't believe it. Does this mean they were dating? No, Ness would've told him about his feelings before. Oh who cares! The fact is, he might finally be able to be with Ness. This time more than friends.

Lucas needed to apologize to Ness first. Truth to be told, the reason he didn't look for him was because well he was mad at him. It was also because he didn't want to believe that Ness was gone. He didn't want to admit that reality had hit and that Ness was possibly dead. It doesn't excuse his actions, but that was the main reason why. It doesn't matter though! Ness is alive! He didn't know why Ness decided to leave or what happened to him, but tonight he will figure everything out. He's finally going to get all the answers.

Ness told Lucas to wait in the garden where the Tabuu fountain was located. He found the tabuu fountain and waited for a bit. He sat on the edge of the fountain and stared into the sky. Gee, the scenery is so beautiful here. He didn't go to the garden often. He didn't like to go out much, but this is definitely nice. He should come here more. This is a great place to get lost in and think. He thought of Ness and him walking around getting lost in this giant maze of a garden talking about whatever.

Thinking about Ness made Lucas nervous. His heart started beating fast. Why is he so nervous? It's Ness! His best friend! Well, he sure hoped that Ness would forgive him for being a jerk. Sure, Ness said that Lucas is a coward, but hmm well no it still made Lucas upset. He started to feel bummed out again, but he heard footsteps. Lucas stood up. His heart couldn't stop beating a mile a second.

Ness walked up to Lucas and waved. Lucas couldn't believe it. He's actually here! He's here and alive! He's actually alive! He hugged Ness and cried on his shoulders. Ness patted his back.

"Hey, it's ok. I'm ok," Ness reassured.

"W-where h-have you been?"

"I uh, well it's a long story."
"There's so much I want to talk to you about."

"It's ok, Lucas. I'm here now. You can tell me everything."

Lucas continued to cry on Ness's shoulder for a bit. After he calmed down, he pulled himself off of Ness. He dusted himself off and channeled his emotions. It's time to start asking questions.

"Where have you been?" Lucas asked.

"I had to hide. Something bad happened."

"What happened?"

"It's Mario. He's bad news. He showed you my plan and told you to keep quiet, didn't he?"

"He did! I know he wants Kirby gone, but why?"

Ness looked away and stared at a bush that was around the Tabuu fountain. What is he looking at?

"Sorry, I thought I felt a presence in that bush. There's no one there luckily. Anyway, back to your question, I'm not sure why he wants Kirby gone. All I know is that he does. I began stalking him and creating a plan to defeat him, but he caught on. I had no choice but to run away. I've been hiding here in the garden ever since."

"You've been here all this time?!"

"Yes! Sorry it took so long to text you back. At one point I was able to sneak my way back into the mansion and charge my phone without anyone seeing me."

"How come you don't want people to see you?"

"What if they're on Mario's side? You know how he is! He's manipulative. I need to stay low for now."

This is what Lucas needed. He finally got answers, but this still doesn't answer the question as to why he didn't include him in his plan. Why didn't he write Lucas a note like he did with Pit? Why did he tell Luigi his plan, but not his best friend Lucas? He started to feel angry. This is it! He has to tell him his feelings!

"Ness, I'm going to be brutally honest," Lucas said.

"Ok."

"I hate that you didn't tell me about your plan. I hated you! I can't believe you told Luigi, but not me. Why did you leave Pit a sticky note, but not me! Also why did you call me a coward?!"

"I know you're mad. You have every right to be. What I did was wrong. I'm sorry I called you a coward. I wasn't thinking straight when I made that plan."

"Luigi is a coward too! Why'd you tell him?!"

"I told him because I found him lonely at a bar. He was crying because of Mario. He was fed up with him! I wanted to reassure him that he wasn't alone. I wanted him to finally go against his own brother."

"I…"

"I know, I'm sorry. I should've gone to you first, but…"

"But?"
"I was afraid of my feelings. It happened out of nowhere. I didn't want to go out of line. I was afraid of seeing you."

"What're you talking about?"

"My feelings, Lucas… I…"

"Ness, it's ok, it's safe. I'm not mad anymore."

"I love you, Lucas! I… I have feelings for you. I didn't want to ruin our friendship because of it."

"Ness…"

"It just happened. I couldn't stop thinking about you. It started getting dangerous. What if I kissed you, or did something else out of line? Telling you about the plan was too risky. I just… I didn't trust myself."

"I can't believe all this time, you also had a crush."

"I know… I had no idea you liked me back."

"If only you told me!"

"I thought you were straight."

"That's what I thought too…"

"Wow, haha! All this hurt could've been avoided, huh?"

"Yeah."
"So… now you know. Um, I love you, Lucas. I uh, I want us to…"

"I do too!"

"Haha… I didn't think this would ever happen."

"Me too! I love you too, Ness!"

Ness wrapped his arms around Lucas. Lucas couldn't help but blush. Everything is too much! They're official now! They're actually dating now. All this emotion and information is too overwhelming. Ness is hugging him and Lucas doesn't know what to do. He still couldn't believe that this was happening.

Ness noticed how shy Lucas is now. Ness pulled away from the hug and grabbed Lucas's hands in his. They stared into each other's eyes for a bit, until Ness went for it. He kissed Lucas on the lips. Lucas paused. Ness is actually kissing him! He's so gentle too. They went slow at first, but then Ness became eager. The kiss was more aggressive. Ness grabbed the back of Lucas's head and pulled him tighter into the kiss.

The two kept kissing for a while. It was like Ness has been waiting for this for so long. Lucas couldn't keep up. He needed to breathe. He would sometimes give Lucas a break, but then he would kiss him again and again and again. Lucas couldn't stop shaking. Ness is so dominant. Lucas loved it! He loved it so much! He could feel that Ness wanted him so bad. Ness pushed down on the grass. He got on top of him and began kissing him again. He grabbed Lucas's wrists and kept him pinned down. This is so hot! Lucas tried not to make any sounds, but he couldn't help but moan.

Ness got up. Lucas stared at Ness shocked. So much happened at that moment. How long have they been kissing? What's this? Lucas felt a little sting on his neck. Did Ness give him a hickey? When? Lucas was so out of it. All he felt was pleasure. What happened?! What's happening right now? Ness just stopped. Are they done now? He stood up too and Ness gave him a cocky smile. Why's he smiling like that?

"Hey, Lucas, do you… want to go somewhere more private?" Ness smirked.

"W-what?"

"I know a place."

"I-I don't know if I'm ready for that. I mean, we just started-

"Don't worry, I'm not going to rush you into that. I just have the feeling that someone could watch us. I mean, we are in a public garden."

"O-oh."

"Unless you don't want to continue, that's ok too."

"No I do!"

"Alright, I know a place. I actually found this cool bunker. It's where I've been hiding. I managed to crack the code."

"Wow Ness, you're so cool!"

"Just follow me."

Ness pressed his thumbs on the side of Tabuu's fountain. Out came a combination of codes. He plugged them in and the statue moved to the side. A staircase appeared under. Ness made sure to give Lucas bedroom eyes before he disappeared down the staircase. He gulped. He was afraid of what they were going to do, but a part of him felt so excited. He wanted to keep kissing his new boyfriend. He didn't want to do anything too crazy, but Ness reassured him that it wasn't going to rush him into doing that. He's so thoughtful. Ok, Lucas was finally able to gain confidence and he soon followed Ness down the staircase.
