Over the next week, Junior and Laurie ended up spending most of their free time together. They had to be extremely careful, because they knew they were being closely monitored. There were several near misses, and multiple times, the cops had to be called. Then, Laurie had a plan. She figured if there was one more person spending time with them, nobody would think about them being on a date, as it wasn't just the two of them. So, on Saturday night, they were having dinner in a fancy restaurant with Sam. "Fake news, I don't know what it's like to be slandered by it, but I know someone who does" said Sam. "And who is that?" asked Laurie. "Dakota" said Sam. "Yeah, things have been rough ever since Total drama ended." "It is incredibly difficult for her to go anywhere in public, without scaring little kids." "But that's not her fault, she was permanently disfigured against her will" said Junior. "Which really pisses me off, so many people disregard the incident that made her like this during the events of ROTI" said Sam. "I'm one of the only people that doesn't consider her a freak." Sam's phone then rang, and when he answered it, he was horrified. After the call ended, he starting breathing heavily. "Oh God, the situation with her just got even worse" he said. "She's currently being detained by the police, the military, the RCMP, and the EPA." "Oh no, what happened?" asked Laurie. "She was walking down the street, was trying to politely say hello to a group of kids, but they all screamed and ran off" said Sam. They ended up running into the middle of the road, and a bunch of cars crashed into each other trying to avoid hitting them." "There is a massive fire, several dead bodies, and she is getting the blame." "I need to leave right now." Sam then bolted out of the restaurant.
When Junior and Miles got back to Laurie's house around 10:00 PM, they just sat on the living room couch, in total silence. "Oh no, poor Dakota, what are they going to do the her?" asked Junior. "It's just not right, she shouldn't have to deal with this, it wasn't her fault" said Laurie. The two then had tears in their eyes, and began hugging each other. "QUICK, BREAK IT UP YOU TWO, SOMEBODY IS GOING TO SEE!" shouted a voice. Junior and Laurie quickly broke away from each other, and saw that the voice was coming from Dwayne Senior. "Dad, what are you doing here?" asked Junior. "Sam is so preoccupied with Dakota's situation, that he needs to take time off, and somebody has to fill in for him" said Dwayne. "I want to be happy about getting to spend more time with my son, but these are not the circumstances I was asking for." "What's worse, is after Sam bolted out of the restaurant, somebody snagged a picture of you two."
Dwayne left the room, and when he came back, he was holding a newspaper. The headline read: Rumors begin to swirl, as Junior and Laurie have a romantic dinner together. Underneath the bold print was a picture of Junior and Laurie sitting at the restaurant's table. "The reason why I agreed to fill in for Sam, is because I can't just in a bar, while my son is having lies told about him" said Dwayne. "I don't know how i'm going to do this, but I will make sure this comes to an end."
Authors note: I absolutely love the Sam X Dakota ship. It's really sweet that despite Dakota's physical appearance being drastically changed, Sam is willing to look past that, and still loves her.
Dwayne Senior is going to be playing a bigger role than he had in the previous story. Instead of sitting at home while Junior is at school the whole time, Dwayne Senior is going to play a major factor in how this story ends.
