Chapter 6 Food Fight

Cuphead and Mugman reached their home, snuck in past Elder Kettle, went to their room, and put on some fresh clothes. Ms. Chalice floated outside the house waiting for her two friends to get ready. Cuphead and Mugman finished getting dressed and were fixed to head out, when the phone rang and Cuphead answered it.
"Hello?" Said Cuphead.
"Cuphead is that you? It's Chief Saltbaker, I need your help!" Said the voice on the other line.
"What's wrong Chief Saltbaker?" Asked Cuphead.
"Some crazy people are running around Inkwell Isle Four! One of them appears to be the head and mascot of those fast food restaurants that have been popping up lately called Waldo Burger. He has it out for me and my bakery! It's only a matter of time before they that decide to storm in and destroy my business to put a Waldo Burger joint in it's place! You have to help me!" Cried Chief Saltbaker.
"Don't you worry will be right over." Said Cuphead before hanging up.
Cuphead and Mugman headed outside to Ms. Chalice, where Cuphead filled the two in on what happened. Mugman checked the files and it sounded like the work of the Sorrow known as Waldo the Head of the Toxic Food-Processing Department. The trio of heroes quickly ran off and took a boat to get to Inkwell Isle Four. They got to the island and quickly located the bakery and found the door ripped off and the windows busted. The heroes exchanged grave looks and raced inside where they found Chief Saltbaker against a wall nervously holding a knife and a rolling pin as three individuals surrounded him and taunted him.
One appeared to be Waldo. Waldo was a cartoonish looking little boy. He had light skin and wore a patterned cap that coverd his fairly curly hair. Waldo had cartoon style eyes and large eyelashes with a snub nose and a small mouth but fairly large cheeks, as well as a large chin. He wore a gray button-up shirt and black pants under a white apron alongside some black shoes. Waldo was carrying a platter laden with a disgusting stack of burgers with body parts that appeared to be both animal and human sticking out of them and a huge scoop of ice cream on top.
The two beings with Waldo were two of his top minions Pierce Gorske and Candice.
Gorske was a cheeseburger with a whole wheat bun and a cherry tomato sticking out of his head. He was mostly made of just cheese and meat, but he seems to also have some sauce and a pickle slice for a tongue. Gorske's arms and legs were a mix of sauce or cheese and were black. He had glowing red eyes fixed in a determined stare with thick eyebrows. Gorske wielded two large glowing red toothpicks.
Candice was a cupcake wielding a giant lollipop as a twirling baton. She appeared to be on a sugar high with a small noticeable twitch in her eye.
"Just give up and leave chief. This property is mine now and I plan to put another Waldo Burger on it. If you agree to come work for me, I'll let you stay." Said Waldo.
"And cook your disgusting food? Never! I am a proud and professional chief and I will not sully my hands by making terrible disgusting food!" Said Chief Saltbaker.
"A man of principles. I can respect that, but it won't matter. Now it's time for you to go!" Said Waldo.
"Hold it right there Sorrow!" Yelled Cuphead getting Waldo and his minions' attention.
"Who are you and how do you know I'm a Sorrow?" Asked Waldo.
"Death told us about you and he sent us after you." Said Mugman.
"We already caught a couple of your fellow Sorrows, so you might as well give up." Said Ms. Chalice.
"No can do! This is a fast food chain that tends to expand all over the living world, until we're practically the only place you can get food! You'll to fight and beat us if you want to stop us!" Said Waldo.
"Fine let's take this outside!" Said Cuphead.
The six fighters and Chief Saltbaker headed outside.
"Since there are three of us on each side, there will be one on one fights." Said Gorske.
"Fine by us." Said Mugman.
"Ladies first." Said Waldo to Candice.
Candice stepped up and Cuphead ate a astral cookie to allow Ms. Chalice to become flesh and blood to fight. The two girls faced each other and the fight started.
Ms. Chalice fired energy bullets at Candice as she charged forward swinging her lollipop. The small hero flipped over Candice as she charged by and continued to fire upon her. Candice licked her lollipop several times before she used the now sticky weapon to pick stuff up and hurl it at Ms. Chalice. Ms. Chalice dodged a trash can, a park bench, and some fruit from a fruit stand as she kept firing at her enemy. Candice got angry as she leaped into the air and slammed her lollipop down at Ms. Chalice who dodged out of the way as she continued firing. After a few more minutes of fighting Candice let out a groan and fell onto her rear waving a white flag in surrender.
"The first round is ours!" Cheered Cuphead.
"Time for the next course. Gorske you're up!" Said Waldo.
Gorske stepped up and Mugman stepped up to face him. The fight started and Mugman began firing at Gorske, who charged at him swinging his toothpicks. Gorske was hit several times, but he reached Mugman and kicked him in the chest knocking him back into a wall. Mugman groaned as Gorske came at him intending to impale him to the wall with his toothpicks! The boy screamed in fright as he quickly rolled out of the way at the last second and the toothpicks stabbed the wall and became stuck. Mugman fired upon Gorske as he pulled his weapons out of the wall. Gorske turned to Mugman and charged at him again and Mugman leaped over him as he fired. Mugman decided to use a Super Art and used used the Giant Ghost to strike Gorske and knock him into a wall! Gorske laid on the ground out cold.
"The second round is ours!" Cheered Ms. Chalice as she changed back into a ghost and Cuphead changed back to his normal self.
"Time for the main course!" Said Waldo before he turned around and ran away.
"Come back here and fight me you turkey!" Yelled Cuphead.
Waldo returned a few seconds later with his entire lower half of his body being replaced with a spider-like, three-clawed robot body with a sauce bottom at the bottom.
"Super size me!" Laughed Waldo.
"That's cheating!" Yelled Cuphead.
"I'm a Sorrow, we don't play fair!" Said Waldo before he began to attack with the sharp legs of the robot.
Cuphead dodged around as he fired at Waldo. The robot chased after Cuphead and fired sauce from the bottle at him, but Cuphead jumped over those attacks and kept firing. Waldo raced at Cuphead and swatted him up to one of the roofs of the nearby buildings and jumped up after him. Cuphead got up and took off running as Waldo chased after him trying to stab him and shoot sauce at him. The chase went on from rooftop to rooftop, with Cuphead running, jumping, dodging, and firing at Waldo. At one point Waldo ended up losing his balance and Cuphead knocked him off the roof with some well placed shots. Waldo fell to the ground with a mighty crash and Cuphead jumped down and continued firing at the down robot. The robot tried to get up, but fell back to the ground and laid there.
"It's over!" Said Cuphead.
"Not yet!" Yelled Waldo before he sliced his way out of the robot with a glowing red chainsaw.
Cuphead screamed in fright as Waldo charged him with the chainsaw forcing him to leap back to avoid getting hit. Waldo chased after Cuphead swinging his chainsaw and Cuphead dodged around firing at him. Cuphead decided to put an end to this and used the Energy Beam to hit Waldo and send him crashing to the ground in a heap with his weapon laying several feet away. The fight was finally over.
Mugman tossed some badges onto Waldo, Gorske, and Candice sending them to Death Inc. The three villains were all wearing straightjackets as they sat at the meeting table.
The heroes cheered in victory and went to the bakery to have some treats.
