A Mother's Love - Part 1
Osaka National Museum
A group of students are seeing walking among the many exhibits of the museum
"Wow, this place is amazing." - Yuki can't hide her excitement at seeing some of the objects of acient story in the museum as she takes pictures with her camera
"I know, isn't this place awesome, Kyo?" - Athena
"I suppose *Yawn* " - Kyo yawned
"Come on, Kyo. You can't tell me this is boring. Look a real samurai armor." - Shingo
"Is that a samurai?" - Yuki looks at what is next to the armor, a strange man of large black hair tied up, white and black vest carrying this sword in his waist
"Wow, that silk statue looks great!" - Kensou
"Yeah almost as if was real." - Athena
*Click* - Yuki takes two pictures of the strange statue of a wandering samurai
"..." - But for her surprise, in a blink. Yuki sees the strange man move his eyes towards her
"AH!" - Yuki screams back in shock almost droping her camera
"Yuki! What happened?" - Kyo
"Yes, are you fine?" - Athena
"(I-I don't know how to explain it...)" - Yuki grabs her heart looking at the statue shivering
"I-I'm fine, Kyo, Athena." - Yuki
"Are you sure? You look tense." - Athena
"I'm alright, let's just keep going with the tour." - Yuki takes a last look at the statue of the samurai before continuing
Some hours later
As the bus to return is seen waiting for them, a strange shadow appears behind looking at Kyo and his friends entering back in the bus
"..." - The shadow hidding behind a lightpost outside the museum stares at the group of Kyo who are seem talking but she pays attention to one of the people between Kyo and Shingo... A woman of purple hair
The shadow opens its eyes widely up looking at this woman as she sees her enter inside the bus
"There's no doubt at all..." - The woman puts out a picture of what looks like the same girl who she was staring at... Athena Asamiya
"Is her!" - Says the shadow shakening looking at the picture of the idol before putting it back on her coat, she moves out of the place.
For the surprise of an old man who was behind said shadow, he sees the flowers of the garden in the entrance of the museum starting wither as the shadow moves away
The Next Day
As the sound of the bell marking the end of the classes at Osaka High School is heard, we see Kyo Kusanagi leaving the place alongside his friends
"I see, so Ms. Kusanagi is celebrating her birthday today." - Asks Athena to Kyo as they walk in group
"Yes, today is mom's birthday. Good thing I buyed a gift for her, now I just hope my dad hadn't made a fool of himself and forgot about it." - Kyo
"Hopefully not, is a important day for both of you, guys." - Athena
"Don't mention it. She sometimes can be very strict." - Kyo complained
"But you know she acts like that because she loves you, right?" - Athena
"Yes, Kyo. Is clear your mother cares alot about you." - Yuki
"I know. I know." - Kyo
"Is just that sometimes... She is very annoying." - Kyo
"(Oh Kyo. If only you know how I kind of envy you, what I would give to have a caring mother like yours.)" - Athena thought for herself for a moment
"(I never got to meet her, sometimes I wonder how she was like, I like to think she was a good woman. But I probably will never know... Sure Master Chin has been there for me always like a father, but there's times where I can't help but wonder. Who was my parents?)" - Athena
As the group keeps walking, nobody realizes a strange shadow has been following them for quite a while now, the strange shadow pays attention to Athena before disappearing
Temple of Master Chin Gentsai - Osaka - Midnight
As Athena is seem sleeping calmly, the strange shadow who had been following her is seen managing to enter in the temple of Chin, the shadow makes her way inside the temple without making noise with her showcasing this small box in her hands, wrapped as a gift
Arriving at the room of Athena, the strange shadow uses a lock pick to enter in the room, getting a glimpse of the sleeping idol
"..." - The shadow opens its eyes widely before putting this package in the table of Athena's room, she looks one last time to her and uses one of her hands to grab the hair of Athena with her hands, before walking out of the room and closing it
The Next Day
"*Yawns*" - As Athena wakes up, she opens her eyes stretching her body sitting in her room
"(What a weird dream I had, there was this shadow wandering around the room and then-)" - Athena's thoughts are interrupted by looking at where her table is, noticing this weird box in it
"(What is this gift?)" - Athena grabs the box opening it curious
"(Could it be a gift from Master Chin?)" - Opening the box, Athena finds herself with three objects, a headband of red and purple colors decorated with purple stars, a snow glove of Tokyo from probably a gift shop in Tokyo and lastly a strange letter with a "K" marked on the stamp
"(Who could had put this in my room? Could it be that this dream-No, but if someone had entered, I should had felt its chi.)" - Athena was baffled, she slowly opens the letter that came with the two gifts
"You must be wondering what is the meaning of this? The meaning behind this letter? I have been watching you for quite a while, Athena. You can call me a fan of some sorts... I-I would like to talk with you in person... This sunday at 06:00 pm, meet me in Dōtonbori. And I'll be willing to answer all your questions, but if you don't want to show up... I would understand it. With love "K"" - Said the letter firmed by a person named "K"
"K?" - Athena reacts confused
Some hours later
"Are you really going to meet this person today, Athena?" - Asks Kyo after having heard Athena's explanation
"Yes, I don't know who this person is, but by its words, it sounds like it could be serious." - Athena
"I'm not so sure, Athena. What if this a trap of those two evil sisters, the Bearts?" - Yuki
"Yes, they were angry the last time you fought them." - Shingo
"If this was a scheme from the Bearts, why would they gave this gifts to me and call me in a place where alot of people could see them? it doesn't sound logical to me, guys." - Athena
"But what if this headband you're wearing is enchanted to control your brain? Or this snow glove is a hidden bomb?" - Kensou grabed the snow glove with a altered and shocked face
"Kensou, stop saying nonsense!" - Athena
"I understand your concerns, and you guys can come with me if you want, but I won't change my decision, I'm going to meet this person there in Dōtonbori." - Athena
"Kyo, go with her please." - Yuki
"*Sigh* Alright, and what about you?" - Kyo
"I can't, I have to accompany my mother to visit our aunt. I won't be able to go with you guys." - Yuki
"I also will be busy today, I have to take care of my cousins, Asuna and Rina." - Shingo
"Alright, I'll go with you Athena. Hey, Kensou, are you coming too?" - Kyo
"Of course I'm going! You think I would let her alone with whoever is this stalker." - Kensou
"(Besides, I don't want Athena to only go with Kyo.)" - Kensou
"You two really think I can't defend myself? Everything is going to be fine, this isn't a trap from the Bearts or that woman who wanted to kill Kyo, Yoru." - Athena
"We aren't saying that you can't take care of yourself, but just in case. We will go with you if you need something." - Kensou
"Yes, Athena. We can't be sure about who is this guy and what he wants with you." - Kyo
"Alright, Kyo, Kensou. I'm admit I'm flattered you two worry about it." - Athena looks at her watch as she notices how two hours are left before the meeting in Dōtonbori, while Yuki and Shingo have to go
Some hours later
"And I told him, well if you didn't have the personality of a creep, people would think of you more than the rich jerk from the class. And he got mad... Again!" - Kyo, Kensou and Athena are seen talking in a table outside of a coffe shop
"Typical Fubuki." - Kensou
"That guy, remember when he kidnapped Yuki only to force us to pass through his traps in that mansion where he had her?" - Athena
"Yes, I remember. The guy really has issues." - Kyo
"Can't believe your cousin dated that guy?" - Kensou
"Aoi is know for being always attracting the worse type of people. I wouldn't be surprised if one of this days she ends up becoming Yagami's girlfriend." - Kyo said with a hand on the side of his head
In that moment, Athena looks at her watch, realizing is almost the hour
"Well is time to go, is almost 06:00!" - Athena
"We are going right behind you." - Kyo and Kensou get up going alongside the idol to the meeting point with this stranger Dōtonbori
Dōtonbori
As the three fighters arrive at Dōtonbori, they look for the stand of food where this shadow was supposedly going to wait for Athena
"There!" - Athena points at the food stand where a person wearing this large brown coat is seeing sporting a hat with a feathers on it
"So that's your fan?" - Kyo
"Well what are we waiting?" - Kensou
"Wait, I'll go to talk with her, you two wait here." - Athena
"But what about-" - Kyo
"It could be a trap... Like you guys said." - Athena
"Point taken. We will be here watching then." - Kyo
Athena nods as she starts approaching the place
"Excuse me, can I sit here?" - Says Athena approaching the stranger eating a bowl of ramen
"Sure." - Says the voice of the stranger making it notice is a woman
"Thanks." - Athena sits trying to get a glimpse of the face of the stranger
"Listen, I wanted to ask a couple of questions. Today in the morning I got a package with some objects like this headband." - Athena points at the headband she was wearing
"A snow glove from Tokyo's giftshop and this letter." - Athena shows the letter to the stranger who just takes a small look at it
"And I was wondering if you, madam. Would be who ended up leaving this package in my room?" - Athena sees the stranger finishing her bowl of ramon
"..." - The stranger stays silent looking at its bowl, as a little smile draws in her face turning to look at Athena
"So you did came to see me. To be honest, I thought you wouldn't come." - The stranger removes her hat looking at Athena fully
"It has been a while, dear daughter. 19 years to be precise." - Says the woman revealing her real face, the face of a woman in her half 30s of larger dark purple hair with eyes similar to her
"What?" - Athena is shocked when she sees the resemblance this woman has with her
"You must be confused, but don't be afraid. I'm not a ghost and this isn't a illusion." - Says the woman grabing the hands of Athena who is shaken full of questions
"Daughter? Wait a moment, you-you're?" - Athena
"Exactly! My name is Kyoko Asamiya." - The strange woman introduced herself
"Asamiya?" - Athena couldn't believe what she was hearing, this woman shared name with her
"You're my mother?" - Athena
Kyoko nods with her getting up giving Athena her hand
"Yes, I'm sure you have alot of questions and I'll be willing to answer them but not here." - Kyoko takes Athena's hand as both of them leave the area with Athena pointing at where Kyo and Kensou were seeing this
"That woman, she looks..." - Kyo
"Exactly like Athena, but older." - Kensou
Some hours later
Athena and Kyoko are seen arriving at the outside of an residence in Osaka.
"This is where I have been living since the last three months. I buyed the place from a couple, all for a really moderate price." - Kyoko
"Come foward, I'll show you the place." - Kyoko invited Athena
"And how about you two, gentlemen. You two look like good men. Why not come inside?" - Kyoko looks at Kyo and Kensou
"We would love to-" - Kensou is hit in the shoulder by Kyo
"But we think is better if you two talk in private. We don't want to be bugging you two." - Kyo looks at Athena with certain concern
Athena nods assuring both things will be fine
Kyo nods back leaving with Kensou
Athena enters in Kyoko's house, surprised by the calm place where the woman lives, the place while humble, it has this classy vibe to it, decorated with some paintings as well as some flower pots in the forniture and the main table
"You want some coffe?" - Kyoko
"Yes, with two cups of sugar." - Athena
"Sure!" - Kyoko went to do the coffe as Athena stays in the main room
"(Kyoko Asamiya, could she really be my mother as she claims? But where she was all this time?)" - Athena
"(I can't deny it that we do really look alike, but I don't know. Maybe she is confusing me with someone else.)" - Athena
In that moment Kyoko returns with some coffe, giving Athena a cup. Sitting in front of her, Kyoko smiles towards the idol, showcasing a smile of happiness that surprises Athena
"So, Ms. Kyoko?" - Athena
"Is a nice place you have here." - Athena
"Please, call me Mom." - Kyoko
"And thank you. It was a mess when I buyed it. But now is finally a decent place to live, it reminds me of my old house." - Kyoko
"Can we talk about that?" - Athena
"About what?" - Kyoko
"That, the past... Your past if isn't much trouble?" - Athena
"If you're my mom, why you did that of entering in my room at midnight to leave this present? Where you have been all this time? I have alot of questions and I-" - Athena is stopped by Kyoko who puts her finger on her lips
"I know it. I know you have alot of questions, dear. I-Is kinda hard to answer all but I'll try." - Kyoko promises to answer all of her questions
"Why you abandoned me all these years?" - Said Athena as her voice breaks a little looking down
"I-I didn't wanted to do it so, in fact I didn't abandoned you. I left you with someone that should had taken care of you." - Kyoko said confused
"Who? Ever since I have memory, I was alone until I meet Master Chin." - Athena
"I remember the people from this orphanage, I lived there a couple of years being treated like a freak until I couldn't stand it anymore and I escaped one day." - Says Athena remembering her earlier childhood in the orphanage where she was raised
"Orphanage? Dear, what are you talking about? Why were you in an orphanage?" - Kyoko reacts surprised
"Wait, it wasn't you who sended me there?" - Athena
"You mustn't remember it. You probably considerated me as a freak like the rest." - Athena
"Wait! No-No that can't be. For what I remember before-That happened." - Kyoko stops for a moment
"What happened, mom? If you're truly my mom?" - Athena
"I am! I can prove it! But-" - Kyoko looks hesitant
"What is it? Tell me, what happened that was important for you to leave me alone all those years." - Athena
"Do I even have a father?" - Athena
"You had one... Yes, but things didn't came out well." - Kyoko grabs her chest
"Tell me, please. I need to know." - Athena
"It was a long time ago." - Kyoko starts to talk
"When you were born, I was so happy. Me and your father Taro, we were so happy when you came to this world.. Our little angel." - Kyoko
"The three of us lived in a neighborhood in Amagasaki." - Kyoko
"Thinks were going well, a year had passed since you had been born... Until I was betrayed by someone I thought of as a friend... A woman named Linon Beart." - Kyoko
"Linon Beart?" - The name rings a bell for Athena's mind as the shadows of two witch sisters are seen in Athena's mind
"Yes, Linon Beart was my friend in high school for years and she was our neighbor. But I never knew her dark secret... Until that day." - Kyoko
"What happened with this Linon?" - Athena
"Linon was a witch, a demonic witch! She wanted to sacrifice Taro... Your father!" - Kyoko
"One day while I returned from the office, I saw him leaving with Linon. At first I thought my husband was having an adventure with Linon, I felt betrayed. All these years together, after having our daughter and now he was doing this. It was obvious my heart feel anger and frustation. So I decided to follow them, but first." - Kyoko
"I needed to leave you with someone who could take care of you, you were just a baby. I didn't liked the idea of leaving you alone in the house and that's when I knocked on the house of a friend of mine... Miharu Nadeshiko." - Kyoko
"She accepted to take care of you while I chased after Linon and Taro... But I-" - Some tears come from Kyoko's eyes
"I didn't imagined I would never return that day back home." - Kyoko
"And that Nadeshiko would end up leaving you in an orphanage..." - Kyoko was baffled
"What happened to dad?" - Athena puts her hand on top of Kyoko's hand
"Luckily I managed to track where your father and Linon were. In the outskirts of Amagasaki, in a dark forest. What I saw shocked my mind, I saw your father tied on top of a satanic circle in a ceremony, performed by Linon and six other people wearing this strange cloaks." - Kyoky narrates the image that she saw with Athena
"*Gasp* What were they doing?" - Athena
"They were trying to open the gates of hell, and summon a powerful demon that lived in the fift lowers region of the depts of makai... This being called Nero." - Kyoko remembers the words of the witch Linon to her group
"Your father was just a sacrifice." - Kyoko
"I couldn't stand watching what they were going to do with my beloved Taro, I saw Linon approaching with this sharp hook. I moved! I confronted Linon about this madness." - Kyoko
"But while I knew how to defend myself, they were too much for me, I wasn't a powerful fighter and I ended up being holded by Linon's group." - Kyoko
"I tried to make her enter in reason, tried to stop her from doing this madness... But I failed! Linon didn't listened, she went with her plan, she killed me alongside Taro. I felt how life escaped out of my body when I saw him die." - Kyoko remembers how Linon made a cut in her husband's stomach first
"I still remember the words of Linon, despite me and Taro not being virgins, our blood was still pure enough to be useful for her ritual. I remember feeling the sharp cold metal of her hook touching my skin after I saw her killing my dear Taro." - Kyoko
"(You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this, Kyoko!)" - Were the words of Linon
"If only I had planned things better, I cried embracing the arms of death just thinking about you... Our dear daughter, I cried just wondering what would happen to you. The only thing that gave me peace was thinking that Nadeshiko would take good care of you..." - Kyoko
"But she didn't." - Kyoko
"And what happened to Linon?" - Athena
"I really don't know... But for what I learned, Linon is dead too." - Kyoko
"Maybe could it be that whatever came out of that portal that day, this Nero ended up decieving her." - Kyoko
"..." - Athena stays silent after hearing this, she tries to process all this information
"Thanks. Now I understand." - Athena
"All this time, I thought you were who ended up leaving me there in the orphanage. I didn't know." - Athena
"I would have never leave you there. You were our world. Me and Taro... We loved you, Athena. I thought I had died, it all happened so fast." - Kyoko
"When I opened my eyes, I saw this strange place, this strange river on this desolated land... I walked for ages there, alone..." - Kyoko
"Until one day, I opened my eyes again and I was here." - Kyoko
"19 years later." - Kyoko
"You have no idea how surprised I was, to learn that my dear daughter had made a name for herself... That she was the famous fighting idol of the psychic powers. It was surreal." - Kyoko
Hearing that and seeing the tears of Kyoko, Athena gets up with her approaching Kyoko
"Mother!" - Athena hugs Kyoko with both embracing each other
"I'm so sorry, dear. I wish I had been there to see you grow up. I missed alot of your life, but I promise you that I won't let that happen again." - Kyoko
"I won't let anything separate us ever again!" - Kyoko
"I have always wonder, who were my parents. Meeting you is like a dream come true, mother." - Athena had no doubts anymore, Kyoko Asamiya was really her mother
"Is alright, I guess is time for me to tell you what happen." - Athena
Athena told Kyoko everything that was of her life, how she had been taken by the martial arts master know as Ching Gentsai, he took her as his student and as a daughter. Athena went on to tell her mother everything, from the good moments to the bad ones and all she had lived through until now.
"I see. It has been a wild life then." - Kyoko
"Something like that." - Athena
"Is already too late, Master Chin must be worried." - Athena
"Unless Kensou had told him." - Athena
"I can take you back with him if you want?" - Kyoko
"You want to come to his dojo?" - Athena
"Sure! It serves that I can get to know him too. After all, I don't know how can I thank him for having taking care of you all this time." - Kyoko
That night, Kyoko took Athena in her car back to the dojo of Master Chin in Osaka
"So, Kyoko." - Chin is seem drinking from a cup as he stares at the mother of Athena, he can't help but really see how she resembles her daughter alot
"Is good to finally know you." - Chin
"The pleasure is all mine, Master. After all, I'll always be in debt with you. For all the years looking after my dear daughter." - Kyoko
"Don't mention it. Athena has been like a daughter for me and is my best student." - Chin
"She has grown up to be a respetable woman, she must had inherited her endearing personality from you and her father-" - Chin
"Taro. He was a wonderful man, may god bless his soul." - Kyoko
"I'm sorry, Kyoko." - Chin
"Is alright. I'm sure he would be happy and proud to see how our dear Athena grew up." - Kyoko
"So regarding Athena." - Kyoko
"You would like to take the custody of your daughter back, isn't it?" - Chin
"Yes. I want to be there for her, I want to recover the time that Linon took from us. Make it up for all the time I left her alone." - Kyoko
"Well, while Athena has been like a daughter to me. At the end of the day, I would feel terrible to deny her the opportunity to live with her real mother." - Chin
"I think is a good idea if she goes to live with you. Just let her pay the occasional visit to us from time to time." - Chin
"Really?" - Kyoko
"(What?)" - Says Kensou in his mind hearing this
"Master? Are you sure?" - Athena
"I'm sure, you deserve to be with your mother, Athena. After all this time." - Chin
"Thanks, Master." - Athena hugs her master
"You do realize this isn't the goodbye, isn't it? Just come to visit us once in a while." - Chin
"Yes, Master. I'll." - Athena then went with her mother taking her by the arm, as both mother and daughter left the dojo that night after Athena brought her stuff
Moments later
"This will be your room." - Kyoko brought Athena to what would be her room, with her helping her daughter to unpack her things on the room
For Athena life had took a spin out of nowhere, she was happy to finally be reunited with her mother, a person that she could only imagine seeing in her wildest dreams. The woman who gave her life and who sadly had been taken away from her at an early age
As days passed both mother and daughter started to bond over different things. With Athena realizing she had alot in common with Kyoko
"Hahaha. Dear, this Shingo kid is funny." - Kyoko commented of what Shingo and Kensou had done the last time in School during their breakfast
"Yes, he sometimes is very reckless but he is a great guy." - Athena
"And what about this boy, Kyo?" - Kyoko
"What about him?" - Athena
"Oh you know you can trust in me, is there something between you two?" - Kyoko asked with a sly smile
"What?" - Athena
"Don't be shy, dear. I was like that with your dad when I had your age, in fact you and this boy Kyo remind me of me and my dear Taro. Is clear that boy turns on something in you." - Asked Kyoko with a smug expression to her daughter
"Mom, Kyo has a girlfriend. What we have is just a good friendship." - Athena
"Oh." - Kyoko face then changed to a more serious face droping this sly smile
"I see. Sorry, is just. I saw how you stared at him when you invited him to the house the other day and I thought there was something between you two." - Kyoko grabs the back of her head blushing ashamed
"Hehehe... Calm, mom. We are just friends." - Athena
"Who is his girlfriend again?" - Kyoko
"Yuki, you remember her, right? She came with me the other day." - Athena
"Ah yes, the brown haired girl. I remember her now." - Kyoko
"Mom." - Athena frowns
"I'm sorry, dear. Is just that sometimes my mind isn't how it used to be. And I tend to forgot some stuff. I'll try to remember all of your friends from now on." - Kyoko laughs
"So there's no especial boy then?" - Kyoko
"Not now, right now I want to enjoy my life... With you." - Athena
"Yes. You're right. You still have a long way ahead, dear. Don't worry, that especial someone will eventually appear." - Kyoko
"Oh, is almost late. I need to go, mom. I'll see you later." - Athena sees the clock moving, she gets up with a nervous face and needing to leave to arrive earlier to school
"Good luck, dear. Have a good day at school!" - Kyoko waves her hand at her daughter wishing her good luck
As Kyoko sits on her couch, she turns a small cigarette
"19 years..." - Kyoko
"Where are you hidding, old friend?" - Turning off her cigarette, Kyoko gets up with her taking her keys leaving the house and entering in her car
"..." - A serious face draws on the face of the purple haired woman as she starts on the engine of her car
Kyoko drives towards Amagasaki arriving at certain familiar neighborhood, she stares at a red house with a feeling of nostalgia coming to her, before seeing a couple coming out of the house carrying their young daughter
Kyoko advances towards the house next door with her knocking at the doorbell
"Yes?" - A man appears opening the door for Kyoko's surprise
"Excuse me, I'm looking for a old friend of work, is there a woman named Miharu Nadeshiko living here?" - Kyoko
"Nadeshiko, you said? Yes, there was once a woman with that name living here, she was the old owner of this house until she sold it to me." - Says the man
"Ah I see, so she doesn't live here anymore. Did she mentioned where she was going to be living?" - Kyoko
"Yes, she mentioned it actually." - The man started to tell Kyoko where her old friend lives now, a couple of streets down
"I see, thank you for your time." - Says Kyoko as the man closes the door
Arriving at her car Kyoko's soon starts the engine of her car again directing towards this place where the man told her
"So here is where you live now, Nadeshiko." - Kyoko arrives at the more wealthy looking house where apparently her old friend lives in
With all the calm of the world, Kyoko makes her way to the door knocking on it
*Knock* - The door is heard as a shadow approaches to the door
"I'm coming!" - A female voice is heard
"How many times I have to tell you I don't want to buy-" - The woman of brown hair from the other side becomes static as soon as she opens the door staring at Kyoko
"Nadeshiko... " - Kyoko whispers with a smile
*Fsss* - Without thinking it twice, Nadeshiko tries to close the door but she can't, seeing Kyoko putting her foot fast inside before she could close the door and stopping the door with a surprising strength
"Ah!" - Nadeshiko leaves the door trying to run away as Kyoko enters in the house's garden
"Nadeshiko, where do you think you're going. I just want to talk." - Kyoko makes her way inside closing the door as she sees Nadeshiko trying to escape using the back door of her house
*Fussh* - But for Nadeshiko's surprise, as soon as she opens the door, this one closes as if someone had pushed it from the other side
"You! Kyoko. Impossible!" - Nadeshiko shivers seeing Kyoko approaching her, she opens her eyes widely unable to believe who she is seeing
"Is that you?" - Nadeshiko
"In flesh and bone, what's wrong, Nadeshiko? Look at you, time certainly hasn't been kind to you at all." - Kyoko approaches with a gentle smile
"How is this possible, the neighbors and I thought you had died. You were missing!" - Nadeshiko
"I was actually, old friend." - Kyoko
"How do you look so young!" - Asked Nadeshiko

"You did?" - Nadeshiko acts clueless
"Do I need to refresh your memory? Answer me something." - Kyoko
"Why you sended my dear daughter to that orphanage?" - Kyoko asked with a very dry tone of voice as the smile she sported some minutes earlier disappears
"Ah, well you see... I-I." - Nadeshiko
"Tell me the truth. I'll know if you're lying." - Kyoko
"I was afraid of her!" - Nadeshiko
"What?" - Kyoko
"You never told me your daughter had this powers, I tried to take care of her at first. But then she started to show this strange powers, I couldn't handle her." - Nadeshiko
"I wasn't the indicate to take care of your daughter, so I dropped her at the orphanage." - Kyoko
"You do realize what you did? The pain you caused to my daughter by abandoning her as if she was an object?!" - Kyoko's eyes start twitching
Nadeshiko is surprised staring at her hand as she grabs on the wall, with her realizing her hand is starting to become frail and her skin is stretching, almost as if her hand had become the hand of a 80 year old woman
"I thought they were going to treat her good." - Nadeshiko
"They didn't it! She told me everything she went through, they treated her as a freak... She was alone for almost her entire childhood. Is a miracle she didn't became a criminal or worse because of your fault!" - Kyoko
"Wait, you have to listen to me, it wasn't my intention! How would I know?" - Nadeshiko sees Kyoko advancing towards her
"(If only I had knew she would end up becoming this successful idol, I would had stayed with the little freak!)" - Said Nadeshiko in her thoughts
"How did you called my daughter? Freak?! Did you just called my dear daughter a freak!" - In that moment Kyoko's eyes open widely as she showcases this angry expression having heard Nadeshiko's thoughts
"Wait how did you-I never said that?!" - Nadeshiko was baffled
"Idiot! Who do you think was the one from which my daughter inherited her powers?" - Says Kyoko pointing at herself
"So you thought of my daughter as a freak of nature and you left her at her luck..." - Kyoko
"ARGH!" - Nadeshiko sees Kyoko bringing this shovel from the garden towards her hand
"Wait! Wait! Kyoko! It was my mistake, I should had taken care of the girl in your absence, I admit it. It was my mistake and I'm sorry!" - Nadeshiko starts begging for her life
"So you're sorry, eh." - Kyoko puts down the shovel
"Yes, I'm so sorry. I know I failed you. I should had taken care of her, it was my mistake to left her in that orphanage. But let me compensate you with something, money? My car? Here's the keys, take it! It is yours. But please. Don't do something reckless." - Nadeshiko throws the keys of her car alongside her wallet at Kyoko's feet
"..." - Kyoko
"You think with money and a car is enough for me to forgive you for what you did?" - Kyoko steps on both objects approaching Nadeshiko with the shovel
"My dear daughter was treated like a freak, she was alone... And you didn't cared!" - Kyoko
"You're only regretting what you did now, only because you realize she ended up growing up into a popular star but for you we are nothing more than freaks, isn't it?" - Kyoko now face to face with Nadeshiko forces her to look at her
"Wait! I already say that I'm sorry, it was my mistake. I already admitted my fault." - Nadeshiko was surprised to see Kyoko now face to face with her
"True. You did apologize." - Says Kyoko with a calm tone making Nadeshiko feel she won't hurt her
"See, we can be friends again, Kyoko. This was just a missunderstanding." - Nadeshiko
"But-" - Kyoko
"Huh?" - Nadeshiko
"A simple sorry doesn't fixes anything!" - In that moment Kyoko raises her hand with the shovel
"WAIT! KYOKO! I said that I'm sorry!" - Nadeshiko screams as she puts her hands in front of her, only to be surprised when noticing her two hands having already become the hands of an old woman for her own shock
"WHAT?" - Nadeshiko looks at her hands, only for her then returning to look at the angry Kyoko about to hit her with a shovel
*CLANG* - Nadeshiko is hit with the shovel sended to the ground by Kyoko who approaches her
"Ah! Ah!" - Nadeshiko tries to escape again, only for her hand to be stepped on by Kyoko
"Don't try to escape... We still have a long conversation, Nadeshiko..." - Kyoko
"After all, it has been 19 years." - Kyoko smiles as she raises her hand with the shovel again
*CLANG* - On the outside of the house, only the sounds of something being hit by a shovel are heard

Who is Kyoko Asamiya?
Believe it or not, Kyoko Asamiya isn't really an OC. She was created for the live action tv drama Athena Awakening of the Ordinary Life series, the live action adaptation of the game with the same name, she is played by Shirizu Kiriko in those live action episodes that are inspired by the game of the same name.
This all was back when SNK had budget and money to throw it on live action series, live action TV spots, weird looking animatronics based on the band of fighters, their own console and even drama cds/radio shows. Looking back at 90s SNK before the bankrupt and modern day SNK, there's a clear difference as night and day
In the KOF continuity, it is never stated who are Athena's parents or if she even has parents. Not even in the team stories... With the only exception being the character stories of KOF XII, where in Athena's one, it is mentioned she has family in Tokyo. But these stories, by the simple fact of being related to KOF XII can't be taken as 100% canon.
Does knowing Athena's parents adds anything to the character? No really, but IMO. It opens the door for a concept that could be interesting to explore and that's what I want to do with the character of Kyoko...
