The Doctor was dragging Amy and Rory around a planets vast shopping district, grabbing all the hats and bow ties he could, when he spotted that signature curly blonde hair. It was her. They had seen each other a few times since that first kiss. They had shared many kisses since, among other things.
He still didn't know who she was but he found himself falling for her fast. It was hard not to. With her gun and her hair and those curves. Her capability in any situation and her personality anyone who met her fell for her a little. He was just about to call out his signature greeting when she turned forward and was scooped up into a hug by a gray haired man. That wasn't the most pressing issue, no no he wished it was. The problem was her protruding stomach. River was visibly pregnant and being showered in kisses by the man next to her. She was looking at her like she looked at him. Laughing her laugh that was reserved for him. He could swear he saw her lips form the word sweetie. His hearts plummeted and he stood in the middle of the road gaping like a fish. His best friends bumped into him.
"Doctor what are you-," Amy started and stopped when he saw the woman he was staring at.
"Oh my god," Rory whispered
"She's pregnant and making out with that guy," Amy exclaimed
"Yes, I can see that Pond" he gritted out
" But-But she's Mrs Doctor from the future," she said
That's what he thought too, but obviously not. Or maybe she was and he screwed it up somehow. He wasn't always the nicest person to be with. He knew he didn't deserve her. Maybe she found someone who did. He was just about to turn around and sulk all the way back to the Tardis when he saw a flash a red fly past him. Amy was rushing towards the couple. Against the protest of the men behind her.
"River!" She called
The woman in question jumped and turned slowly. Her eyes began to well up with tears that she furiously blinked away. The man next to her went silent but rubbed her shoulders encouragingly.
"Hello Amy, " she breathed
"Who is this?" The red head demanded
" Her husband," the guy answered
He was still possessive of her and his title. Finding out your wife had other random marriages did that to a person. His younger self gasped though.
"Sweetie that is not helping," she admonished
"How did this happen," Amy questioned as she pointed to Rivers stomach
"Well when a man and a woman love each-"the man began but stopped when River hit his shoulder
"Doctor stop it, you cannot possibly be trying to stake your claim against yourself," she scolded.
The guy just smiled unperturbed.
" Wait a minute. Doctor? Are you telling me he's you?" Rory asked
This took the breath out of 11s lungs.
" So that baby is….." he began
" Yours yes. Did you really think I would have kids with anyone else? I know we're not monogamous but that's a bit much," she replied only a little hurt.
The man behind her whispered something in her ear that made her smile. The younger Doctor felt happy but overwhelmed. All his thoughts about her have been confirmed. She is his wife. Not only that the mother of his child. Oh my gosh. Children! He's going to be a father again. With that thought everything with black and he felt himself falling.
