"You can't walk around here with your big space hair, and sultry eyes, and little fuck me dresses and expect for people to want to do anything other then just that!" He yelled
She slapped him, as he expected. That was probably not the best way to display his jealousy.
"I can tell you right now that you certainly won't be doing that anymore," she growled
"Wait, River," he groaned as he tried to grab her arm
"Don't touch me!" She shouted, "you just practically called me a little whore,"
"That is not-," he began
"Shut up! I came here to have a good time with my husband not to be berated for my clothes and the fact that you're insecure about people looking at me," she said
At this he could only stare. He had completely forgotten that she was here so she could take her mind off of her horrible month. Which probably was his fault in the first place. They went out to one of her favorite galactic clubs. She was wearing a short dark green dress with a pair of strappy black heels. They were having a great time dancing and touching. That is until she went to the bar and he noticed several eyes on her. Basically eye fucking her. She then danced with a few others as he festered in both arousal and jealousy.
By the time she came back to him red cheeked, happy, and slurring her words he was ready to go. As soon as they got back to the Tardis she was ready to jump his bones. It had all been going swell until she asked him if he was ready to fuck her. The alcohol they consumed was not human so he was also a bit drunk and loose lipped. He said under his breath that everyone was ready to fuck her. She was, of course, a bit confused and as he explained she got pissed. Thus they started arguing.
"Melody that's not what I meant," he said
"It doesn't matter,Doctor," she said
Her calling him by his promise struck something in his chest. Whenever they were in private she called him by his name or his nickname. It was one of his favorite parts of their relationship. Hearing her revert back to the formality was not pleasant.
"I can't do this. I'm going home," she whispered
If nothing else got to him this did. Cold fear spread through his entire body. His hearts felt like they stopped.
"What do you mean you can't do this?" He questioned
She just looked at him sadly
"Are you divorcing me?" He stuttered
"I don't know," she replied simply
"Why," he breathed
"All I needed tonight was a break. A good fun time. You couldn't even do that," she began, " I never ask anything of you, but the one time I need you to be there for me you can't do it. You fuck it up. It was something so easy, so tiny and simple. You can't. You won't and you will never. I don't need this and I certainly don't deserve this. Not from you of all people. So I am going to leave before you decide you can't do something else for me or say something you can't take back,"
His hearts stopped. And he stared at her nonplussed.
"Do not try to find this me either because I can barely stand to look at you right now. No telling how I'll react when you pop up in a few months," she said and with that she was gone
He stood alone, again.
He had hurt her, again.
