The Future's Young Fingerprint

Larousse City, Hoenn. 29th June, 2033. 5:03pm.

May trudged down a beautiful hilly road that led to the other side of the forest. The road was stunning: the pathway was in a clean grey colour with perfect white lines in the middle of the wide road.

May scoffed annoyedly at it. Why? Because around the sides of the road were flowers. Not just any flowers, roses.

The brunette groaned internally. Why did she argue when he was just trying to look out for her?

She glanced back to where Older Dawn was helping Dawn step down from the steep hill, Belle curled up in her arms. May sighed. She needed advice. And she knew just who to ask.

Larousse City, Hoenn. 29th June, 2033. 5:13pm.

Drew quickened his pace yet again, wanting to be alone and bury himself in his thoughts.

On one hand, he was angry at May. He was just scared that something would happen to her. She shouldn't have acted that way. He furrowed his brows angrily and then his face softened.

But on the other hand, the way he expressed it was…unexpected to say the least. He sighed and grabbed his throbbing head. What was he going to do?

A hand tapped his shoulder. He turned around. Paul, who was carrying Leaf, gave him a worried look.

"What're you thinking about?" he asked softly.

Drew shrugged.

"Drew," Older Paul gave him a warning look. Drew rolled his eyes. "Fine. I'm just thinking about how I gave May such a hard time, that's all," he muttered quietly.

Older Paul nodded. "Well," he started. "In your defence, you were only trying to look out for her," he stated.

Drew sighed. "I don't know what to do, Paul," he said.

Older Paul shrugged. "The only thing you can do is apologize,"

Drew nodded. "I know. I'll do it when I see her," he decided.

Older Paul nodded. "Good."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, May kicked a rock into the river. "God dammit!" she muttered. "What the fuck do I do about him?" she wondered out loud. Dawn caught up with her.

"Hey, why're you walking so fast?" she giggled. Then she stopped as she looked at May's regret-filled face.

"What happened? Are you upset about-"

"Upset? Why would I be upset?" May roared a fake laugh.

Dawn gave her a knowing look and May deflated.

"I just…I'm really lost, Dawn," May sniffled.

Dawn hugged her friend. "May," she consoled. "It's okay. How about you apologize the next time you see him?" she grinned.

May wiped her tears. "Y-yeah. That sounds good," she let out a small smile.

"GUYS, LOOK!"

May and Dawn exchanged looks and ran to where Older Dawn was, a frightened look painted on her face.

The pair peeked in and their eyes widened in shock.

There was Gary, but he was…unconscious?
