Chapter 6: Cooling Off at Splash Gardens
Meanwhile in the colorful garden, Tony wakes up and looks at the ocean and the sand. He saw his friends and realized they're not in Elliot's living room anymore.
"Guys, wake up, we're at the seaside!" Tony said.
"Tony, can you please keep it down? I'm trying to sleep!" Steve moaned.
"Yeah, it's still bedtime," said David.
"Guys, C'mon! Seriously, we're at the seaside!"
The boys woke up and saw the ocean in surprise.
"Tony, I guess you're right! We're at the beach!" Steve said.
"Yeah, and look!" Tony said, pointing at the fountain.
"It has a fountain!" David said.
Steve looked at the flowers. "It has flowers too!"
"Look around, guys. There's the ocean, sand, flowers, and bubbles floating in the sky."
"Floating bubbles in the sky?"
"Yeah, look up!"
David & Steve look up and saw strange, floating bubbles in the air.
"I guess there are floating bubbles!" Steve said, happily.
"I wonder what else we can find," David said.
All of a sudden, the boys looked up and saw Elliot floating down.
"Look! It's Elliot!" Tony said, pointing at Elliot.
"Are we're inside his dream?" David questioned.
Elliot landed on his feet with five-colored Ideyas and looked around.
"Woah, what is this place?" Elliot questioned.
He saw the fountain and notices that Tony and the boys are here.
"Hey! There's Tony and his friends! Hey guys!" Elliot said.
Steve turned and saw Elliot running up to them.
"Guys, look! It's Elliot, he coming to say hello!" Steve said.
"Hey Elliot, give us a group hug!" Tony called.
As Elliot was about to hug his friends, a bunch of Nightmarens showed up and took his Ideyas, sending him upwards.
"Ack!" Elliot screamed as he landed in his back.
"You okay?" Steve asked as helped him up.
"Yeah, i'm alright. Who are those guys, anyway?"
"They're some kind of creatures, I think." David said.
"Actually, those are called Nightmarens. Also, do you need some help?"
The boys turned and looks around the aquatic park.
"Who's there?" Elliot questioned.
"I did," the voice called again.
The boys turned and saw a purple jester, bowing at them with an amiable smile.
"Hey! That's the jester from our dreams!" Steve said.
"I guess we found the jester after all!" David said.
"Woah, who are you?" Elliot asks.
"My name's NiGHTS, the Nightmaren," the purple jester said.
"Oh, that's strange. My name's Elliot, and that's my friends: Steve, Tony & David."
"Hi!"
"What's a Nightmaren?"
"I'M the Nightmaren, of course. And I'm here to help you boys out."
"You're the Nightmaren?"
"That's right!"
"And what are you doing in the palace?"
"I was trapped by Wizeman and his henchmen."
"Wizeman?"
"Who's Wizeman?"
"He is the most-powerful Nightmaren king."
"And who are his henchmen?"
"Their names are Reala & Jackle."
"What?!" The boys exclaimed.
"Yes, they had imprisoned me into this palace dome," said NiGHTS.
The boy looked at each other in worried.
"So how can we freed you?" Steve said.
"You'll have to dualize with me!" NiGHTS said.
"Dualize with you?" Elliot asks.
"Yeah! So we can get your Ideyas back."
"My… what?"
"Ideyas. You know, represents human dream energy."
"And what type of Ideyas are there?"
"Yellow Ideya represents Purity, Blue Ideya represents Intelligence, Green Ideya represents Wisdom/Growth, Yellow Ideya represents Hope, and the one that you're holding is the Red Ideya, represents Courage." NiGHTS explained.
"Oh, that's why they called Ideyas!" Tony said.
"That's right! But there's no time to waste, I need help getting outta here!"
"Why?"
"Because I told you too!"
"One question I need to ask, are you a male or a female?" Elliot asks.
"I don't know, but dualize with me!" NiGHTS said, reaching out to Elliot.
Elliot sighed. "Okay, whatever you said so."
He placed his into the jester's hand, and they both dualize together as the boys watched in amazed.
"Elliot vanished!" David said.
"Where's he go?" Steve asks.
"Don't worry, boys," NiGHTS said, "I kept him safe inside of my body."
"Hey guys, I'm inside NiGHTS' red diamond!" Elliot's voice said.
"Oh, I kinda get that!"
NiGHTS flew out of the Ideya Palace and the boys followed behind them.
"Hey NiGHTS, this garden is beautiful, but can you tell us where we are?" Tony asks.
"You're in Splash Gardens, this place has connections to Elliot's mother. Whether it be a certain person, place or ever in his lives, we all have something or someone we are affectionate with someone or something that makes us happy and fills our heart with joy." NiGHTS explained.
"Yeah, me and my mother were connected together when we're having fun," Elliot's voice said.
"Cool!" Steve said, happily.
"So what you're saying that the creatures are called, Nightmarens?" Tony asked.
"Yes, those creatures that came from Wizeman," NiGHTS told them.
"Oh, that nasty Wizeman!" David pouted.
"So they're the ones who stole his Ideyas!" Steve said, crossing his arms.
"Yeah, what til I get my hands on them!" Elliot's voice said.
"How can we get them back?" David asks.
"By collecting 20 blue chips and destroying the capsules."
"That's how it works? Sounds like a good idea."
"But what about the Nightmarens?"
"I can paraloop them away!"
"Paraloop?" They asked.
"Yeah, when I flew around in circles, it makes them disappear."
"Woah."
"So who are they, exactly?"
"They're called Hollows, Mamus & Parties."
"Parties? Wow! I like parties!"
"Steve, parties are the type of Nightmarens. Not that kind of parties."
"Oh, right."
"So, where are the Nightmarens?"
Just then, they saw types of Nightmarens came zooming in.
"I think I found them, time to fight!" NiGHTS said.
"But what about us?" Steve asks.
"You know, try something away to fight them."
"Okay."
The boys closed their eyes and the Nerf guns appeared right beside them.
"Hey! Nerf guns!" Tony said.
"Now we're talking!" Steve said.
The boys grabbed the nerf guns and getting ready for combat.
"Ready guys?"
"Ready!"
The boys run off in every direction and started shooting nerf darts into the Nightmarens while NiGHTS and Elliot started collecting blue chips.
Once they collected enough blue chips, they flew over to the capsule and destroys it, retrieving the White Ideya.
"We got the first Ideya!" Elliot said.
"Yeah, but there's more Ideyas we need to get, let's roll!" NiGHTS said.
NiGHTS then paraloops around the blue chips and the Nightmarens, while the boys are shooting them with their nerf guns.
"Eat my nerf guns!" Steve shouted, shooting at the Party.
"Take that, you scary Nightmaren!" David said, shooting darts at Mamus.
NiGHTS collected 20 blue chips while swimming through giant bubbles and destroyed the capsule.
"The Yellow Ideya, we got it!" David said.
"Two more Ideyas to go!" Elliot said.
David looked at the hollows and aims for it. "Fire in the hole!"
The hollow screeched and headed towards him, he then shoots it with his nerf gun and the hollow spins.
"Nailed it!" David said.
Suddenly, Tony notices that he saw a party right behind him.
"Let's party!" Tony said, then shoots the Nightmaren away.
NiGHTS & Elliot destroyed the capsule after collecting blue chips, then retrieved the third Ideya.
"The Green Ideya!" Elliot said, "We need one more Ideya and then Splash Gardens will be safe!"
Steve began to run towards the Mamus when they were about to attack David.
"Steve!" David yelled, "Help!"
He jumps over the Mamus and shoots it, making them dizzy.
"Thanks!"
"No problem!"
NiGHTS turned to the boys. "Follow me, guys!"
The boys looked at each other and begins to follow the flying jester to an ocean wall.
"Into the ocean we go!" NiGHTS.
The jester and the boys jumped through the ocean wall and find themselves in the ocean world.
NiGHTS' legs had transformed into a dorsal tail, Tony and the boys had their legs turned into a mermaid tail.
"Hey, we're merfolks again!" Steve said.
"And we can breathe underwater!" Tony said.
David noticed that NiGHTS had a different tail. "Hey guys, is it me or does NiGHTS had different legs?"
Tony and Steve looked at NiGHTS, swimming around.
"I guess NiGHTS had a mermaid tail!"
"Nice tail, NiGHTS!"
"Actually, that's my dorsal tail!" NiGHTS said.
"Oh yeah, right."
"Woah, I can't believe we're in the bottom of the ocean!" Elliot said.
"Yeah, but the fourth capsule is right here. Come on, let's collect all 20 blue chips…"
"…so we can get the blue Ideya!"
The boys nodded and took out their nerf guns, they saw the Nightmarens heading towards them.
"They can breathe underwater too?!" Steve questioned.
"Yes, that's what happened when a Nightmaren can swim!" NiGHTS told him.
"Really."
"C'mon, let's swim!"
NiGHTS drill-dashed the parties while Tony & David shoots the hollows with their nerf guns.
"Hey, I didn't know I can shoot with my nerf gun in the ocean!" David said.
"Yeah, or a water gun!" Tony said.
"Nevermind, let's get those Nightmarens!" Steve said.
The boys swam and starts firing with their nerf darts to Mamus and the Parties, NiGHTS collected enough blue chips to open the final capsule.
"To the submarine cave!" NiGHTS called out.
The boys started to swim and started to follow NiGHTS to the submarine cave where the fourth capsule was hidden.
"There's the capsule!" Elliot said.
"And there's the blue Ideya!" Tony said.
"Ready guys?"
"Ready!"
NiGHTS swam towards the capsule and retrieved the blue Ideya.
"We got all four Ideyas!" David said.
"So what now?" Steve asks.
"Now it is time to defeat… the first Nightmaren henchmen." NiGHTS told them.
"What?" The boys questioned.
"The first Nightmaren. You know, Wizeman had send the first Nightmaren."
"Oh, so that's why!" Steve said.
Suddenly, a rapid glow surrounds the boys and the jester, then it zoomed upwards into the air.
NiGHTS and the boys find themselves in the mysterious mansion, they looked down and realized that they're humans again.
"Oh man, we're kids again!" David said.
"Yeah, but what is this place?" Tony asked.
"This is Puffy's mansion."
"A mansion? Wow! Where's all the money?" Steve asked.
"Steve, this place doesn't have money."
"Oh yeah, I kinda regret that."
"So where's Puffy?"
All of a sudden, they heard a vocalizing sound coming from above. They looked up and saw a beach ball-styled woman with large, pink rabbit ears who was looking down at them.
"Why, hello there, NiGHTS… and friends. Welcome to my mansion of your dreams!" Puffy said, vocalized.
"That's Puffy?" David questioned.
"Correct," answered NiGHTS.
"Puffy? It kinda reminds me of a music teacher when I was looking at the pink-haired girl," said Elliot.
"Yeah, which is the one when we heard her voice," said Steve.
"So what can we do?" Tony asks.
"I say we pop her!"
"Pop her? That's crazy!"
"What? That's my plan, right?
"No, but we can't pop her."
"How about drill-dash her?"
"Only NiGHTS can do it!"
"Why you little!"
The boys started arguing and NiGHTS looked confused.
"Would you boys stop it?" NiGHTS called out.
But they weren't listening, Elliot had never seen his new friends arguing before.
When Steve accidentally shove David, he sent him flying backwards and bumps into Puffy.
"Watch it!" Puffy said.
"Oh, so we can bounce her, huh?" Tony said.
"Can we do that?" David questioned.
"Let's try it!" Steve said.
"NiGHTS, bounce that Puffy-ball into the wall, we'll bounce it next!"
"You got it, Steve!"
NiGHTS started to charged into Puffy, making her to fly backwards.
"OH!" She screamed.
"My turn!" Steve said, then he bounced her into the dining room where food is served.
"Mmm! Food!" David said.
"Yeah, that dream makes me hungry!"
"No time for dinner, guys, let's bounce!" Elliot called out to his friends.
The boys looked at each other and sighed. "Okay."
Tony then bounced Puffy into the next room, making her dizzy.
"Can you boys stop it!" Puffy asked, feeling dizzy.
"Ready for the final bounce, guys?" NiGHTS told the boys.
"We're ready!" The boys said.
NiGHTS and the boys gathered in front of Puffy.
"Okay, on three, ready?"
"Ready!"
"Okay! One…"
"What?"
"Two…"
"Wait! Let's just discuss about…"
"Three!"
But it was too late, the boys and the jester had bounced Puffy behind the wall, the shelf breaks and it pops her.
"AAH! NiGHTS!" Puffy screamed, causing to shrivel and disappears.
"Hey! We did it!" Steve said.
"Yeah, we totally defeated that beach-ball lady!" Tony said.
"Now that we defeated Puffy, let's head back to Splash Gardens!" David said.
NiGHTS and the boys then vanished.
The boys then find themselves back in Splash Gardens, they turned and saw Elliot standing there.
"Elliot!" Tony said.
"Back to your normal-self, huh?" David questioned.
Elliot then looks at his hands. "Yeah, I think so. Hey NiGHTS, do you think that Nightmarens are…"
But NiGHTS wasn't there.
"Hey! Where'd NiGHTS go?" Steve asked.
"They'd disappear!"
"Maybe they're with someone else."
Just then, a Nightopian fairy with a crown appeared in front of them.
"Woah! What the?" Steve panicked.
"Who are you?" Elliot asked.
"I am King Pian, and I wanna thank you boys for saving Splash Gardens," the king said "Yeah, it's all the hard work!" Tony said.
"That Puffy's up to no good!" Steve said.
"Now you boys have to keep going!"
"Why?"
"Because there's more places you need to save!"
"We can do that! Right guys?"
"Right!"
Suddenly, a portal appears right in front of the boys and King Pian.
"Woah, a portal!" Steve said.
"Where do you think it goes?" David asks.
"It might go to the next Nightopia," said King Pian.
"He's right! King Pian, you can count on me and my friends!" Elliot said, smirking.
"Thank you, guys! Good luck on your mission!" King Pian said, then he disappears.
"C'mon boys, let's go to next world!"
Meanwhile, Reala and Jackle are looking at the crystal ball to see Elliot and his friends ran into the portal.
"Darn! They defeated Puffy!" Jackle said.
"These boys sure like to have a poppin' good time!" Reala said.
"What can we do now?"
"Let's ask Wizeman about our next plan!"
"Great idea!"
The jesters then went oven to the Wizeman's throne to have a talk with him.
"Wizeman, bad news: NiGHTS and the visitors had defeated Puffy by popping her!" Reala said.
"Yeah, just like the girls defeated Gillwing!" Jackle said.
"WHAT?!" Wizeman yelled. "That purple jester and their friends had always won."
"Is there another plan?"
"I think I have an idea, I'll send two Nightmarens to attack NiGHTS and their friends."
"Really? Who?"
"Listen."
Reala and Jackle lend their ears to Wizeman's mouth and begins to whisper about their plan.
"Great idea!" Jackle said.
"Sounds good!" Reala said.
Then the three began to laugh, evily.
