Part 1: Red Oni, Blue Oni
Ino Yamanaka, a young girl just graduated from the ninja academy in the Leaf Village. After some missions, the Chunin Exams incident, and some time before Naruto set out with his mentor and godfather Jiraiya to find Tsunade, Ino decided to try something that may or may not be the worst thing she would have done. Perhaps to her peers it would be messed up, worst to Hinata as everyone knew except for Naruto how Hinata feels about him. Ino consulted with Hinata about an idea she had: Take Naruto out on a date which may provoke Sasuke as Naruto is getting ahead of him in the romance game… which is rather untrue as both boys could not care about romantic rivalries in the slightest, they're about who can one up another. Still, Hinata listened and initially reluctant about Ino "using" Naruto. Similar to the tale of Red Oni and Blue Oni, Ino would be playing the more questionable woman while Hinata would be that good woman any man would love. Hinata ultimately agreed, though she believed Naruto would likely think lower of Ino, if any small bit.
Ino checked out a lot of random books about flowers from the library to justify her unable to see where she is going. Knowing Naruto, Ino walked slowly nearby Naruto's favorite place to eat in, Ichiraku Ramen. Problem is… Naruto already ate there and Ino missed him by 20 minutes. Ino waited and carried a large pile of books for nothing, so she returned them and just find Naruto herself. To make her plan work she must not make this look like a plot, it needs to be a coincidence she came by Naruto. Perhaps going to the hot springs and Naruto might peep at her? Very unlikely. Training grounds to practice on his skills? Most likely, but he was not there either. Ino sighed and gave up on finding Naruto today.
(How can it be so hard to find an idiot who has a very basic schedule?) Ino thought.
"Hey, Ino!" Said a familiar voice.
"Not now Naruto, I've been—what!?" Ino was shocked to see the moron she been looking for just popped out of the blue. Sure they are ninja, but this is Naruto she is talking to. Naruto is louder than a church bell and a bomb explosion combined.
"Is something wrong?" Naruto asked Ino.
"No. No. I've been looking all over for you. You see… I have… something for you." She tried to keep the conversation going, but even an idiot like Naruto is bound to smell something is off.
"Okay? And what's that? Do you need help that you can't trust Shikamaru and Choji to do?"
"YES! Yes, that's it! I need help with getting ramen!" (Ino, you idiot! Ramen!? I was just over at Ichiraku to find Naruto. He must've already ate there!)
Naruto saw how Ino's face is. Being a mixture of uncertain smile and angry eyebrows. Naruto figured it must be something she need to discuss elsewhere. "Okay then. Want Ichiraku or somewhere else?"
"No! Yes! I-will-make-homemade-ramen-and-we'll-meet-at-the-training-grounds!" Ino dashed away and is visibly angry at herself. This wasn't part of the plan. Sure it was a coincidence, but not what you see in romantic novels.
This is a mission to get Naruto to realize Hinata's feelings for him. The price is that Ino may not have Naruto's trust or even him thinking of her as a manipulative girl. Ino have a role of the Blue Oni with Hinata being Red Oni.
