Fire...

Kagome had many scars, so adding to the collection didn't bother her. Each one told a story, and each came at a price: Pain.

Most of her scars came from fighting, suffering, and hurting, but each also came with a reward. A new day, a new try, a gain. She would take the pain if it meant winning; she would accept the scars if it meant succeeding. Kagome had given up a lot to be here, but she also gained a lot. The scar at her side was a reminder of the win, of her immortality, of her power.

But none of those would come close to holding the meaning the scar on her neck would. The scar he wanted to give her.

Kagome laughed slightly, making him raise an eyebrow, pulling back slightly to look at her with question,

"At one time, you wanted to give me a scar in order to take my life,"

He smirked, and it was deadly. "Silly woman, and I not about to do the same?"

She gulped, heated.

He brushed her hair back and ran his claw down her neck, pushing slightly, making her gasp. "It will burn into your blood, Miko,"

Her lips parted suddenly; she was so thirsty.

"It will hurt; it is permanent." He looked at her. "This is not a bond as simple as your human tradition,"

She knew that. But did she truly understand it?

"For you to take my mark bonds you to me forever, do you understand?"

They searched each other's eyes,

"Not even death will break it,"

It was romantic in a way.

"Are you sure you want me?" She asked,

He leaned more and kissed her neck, his mouth opening wide to suck the skin, making her lean into him. "Sesshomaru,"

He growled against her skin before dragging his fangs against the skin. "Mine," He said; it was that simple to him.

"Hai," She said with a shakey breath.

"Hold on to me,"

She grabbed both his arms. One hand slid around her waist, and the other held her hair, leaning her head back a bit. "Breath," He told her, and then he bit down.

His fangs glided into her skin so easily, like taking a bite out of a peach. Soft, and her blood tasted just as sweet.

But for her, it hurt. She grunted, trying to keep in the scream, but his power was like fire in her veins. She cried out as the fire spread down her neck to her heart.

Teardrops fell down her face, but it was worth it. This was worth it.

Part of him wanted to hold on to the bite, but he knew she would faint if he didn't, so he released her, licking up the blood, but even that made her toes curl.

She heaved as the fire died and was replaced with heat; her eyes opened slightly, and her face was flush. The heat ran down and set fire to a hold new place, and she wasn't the only one.

"What?" She was confused by the rapid change in feeling.

"It helps with the next step," He said in a husky tone,

"Next step?"

His claws ran though her hair "I will claim you in a different way now," He pushed her hips to his so she could feel it and feel it she did and now she had a whole new fire and there was only one thing that could put it out and it wasnt holy water.

"Oh," She breathed, and he claimed her mouth for a moment.

"Mine," She said in a daze, and he kissed her again, picking her up and laying her down. He would wait no more.

The mark claimed her soul; only he could claim her body, and only she could have his.
