Aurora's POV
I sighed as I walked into The Resolute's hangar to see my brother sitting in my starfighter getting prepared for his first battle.
"Remember." I began as I approached. "If you run into trouble, I will jump in one of these and come get you."
He smiled at me and shook his head. "I can do this. We can do this, right Geenine?"
Geenine beeped in agreement making me smile.
I gave my brother a quick hug and as we pulled away, I put my hand on his shoulder.
"May the Force be with you." I said warmly, but I knew he could tell that I felt like a volcano about to erupt.
While my brother's training had been progressing nicely, I still always had a concern about him. He was my lifeline, and even though we are technically the same age, I'll always see him as a younger person than I am. As soon as his starfighter took off out of the hanger, I went back to the bridge. As soon as I got onto the bridge, I watched as the squad of starfighters piloted in front of the Star Destroyer. I took a deep breath. He could do this…hopefully.
"You, ok?" Anakin asked as he came alongside me.
I shook my head. "I don't know. I trust him…but I'm worried he's starting too soon."
"He's got this. Fox and Rex are with him, he'll be alright." He said with a small smile.
"I still have a right to be concerned…he's my brother." I stated as I placed the commlink in my ear that would directly connect me to my starfighter, so I could yell at Korkie if he did anything stupid. I then crossed my arms. "Where's Obi-Wan?"
"He's coming." Anakin said. "I'm sure he wouldn't want to miss this."
"I wouldn't." Obi-Wan began making me turn around to face him.
"Good." I said calmly, even though I was on the verge of having an anxiety attack.
"It's going to go alright." He began, trying to calm me down, as Anakin went to the command table. "He's going to be alright."
"I'm going to vomit." I said walking past him heading to the command table.
This mission was easy. It was taking out 1 ship of a separatist fleet that was trying to attack a Republic Medical Station. It was really the perfect mission for my brother, as he recently learned how to pilot, but at the same time…it could go extremely wrong in a matter of seconds. As the battle began, I started clenching the table as my stomach turned with anxiety. Anakin saw me turn pale and put an arm around me to try and get me to calm down, but nothing could shake my nerves. Much to mine, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yularen's surprise, my brother was a natural leader. He was leading a squadron with ease, and his piloting skills were quite good. All was going well…until it wasn't.
"I think I'm hit!" Korkie shouted over the comms.
That's when time stopped for me. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't see straight, and I couldn't stand up straight. I gripped the command table harder. That's when I felt it coming.
"Ro?" Anakin asked with concern.
I immediately turned away from the command table, walked two steps, before I practically collapsed to the ground and vomited.
"Korkie, do you need backup?" I heard Anakin say.
"No, I'm fine, Geenine is working on it now. None of the systems were affected…though I know my sister isn't going to be happy that I damaged her starfighter. How is she?"
"Uh…" Anakin trailed off as I turned my head around to look at him as Obi-Wan knelt beside me.
"Sorry." I quietly replied.
"It's your anxiety." He said putting a hand on my back. "I know."
"She's been better." Anakin replied to my brother as he turned back toward the command table.
"He's fine. The wing is damaged, but it didn't hit him, he's perfectly fine." Obi-Wan explained trying to calm me down as I was hyperventilating.
I nodded as I slowly stood up. "I know. It was just my immediate response."
"I know." He replied guiding me back to the command table.
Within an hour, my brother returned to the hangar with his entire squadron still intact. As soon as his fighter landed, I sprinted to the hangar. Once I laid eyes on him, I engulfed him into a hug.
"I'm sorry about your fighter." He began as we hugged. "I tried to avoid it but…"
"I don't care about the fucking starfighter!" I said with a small smile as we pulled out of the hug. "I'm just glad you're alright."
"I told you I had this handled." He said with a smile.
I ruffled his hair as I put my arm around him as we walked toward the bridge. I guess he could handle himself…but I'd never let him forget that I was his sister…I have a right to worry about him.
1 Week Later
"Oh my fucking god." I murmured in annoyance as I leaned against the edge of the Senate pod, resting my head on my left hand.
We were on hour 5 of a debate on whether 5 million more clones should be created in response to the Jedi Temple bombing, and I already couldn't stand it. It was like watching paint dry. It was horrible.
I recently started to attend Senate sessions more as I am interested in what is occurring on Mandalore and in the Mandalorian system. I'm praying it gets mentioned in some sort of meeting, but so far, nothing has been brought up.
"Stop complaining." Zara scolded from her seat next to me.
"This dress is really uncomfortable." I said with a glare, turning in my seat to look at her. "I want to go home."
"Well, we can't." She practically snapped.
"I want to go home." I hissed through my teeth at her, and just as I did, my brother had returned to the pod.
"What'd I miss?" He asked eagerly as he took his seat. "Did we vote yet?"
"No." I groaned leaning back in my seat.
"Fuck." He said in annoyance.
I snapped my head around. "Korkaran, language."
He gave me an annoyed look. "First off, I'm the same age as you."
"You look 17." I retorted.
"It doesn't matter. And I have a right to be annoyed, we've been sitting here for 5 hours, watching old people in itchy clothes talk about nothing!" He half whispered half shouted so no one would pay attention to us. "I want to go home."
I turned to look at Zara with a smirk. "See."
Zara rolled her eyes. "I'm tired of doing this by myself."
I glance around at the pods around us, and gestured to the pod, a few levels below us.
"Look at Barron, he's by himself." I said with a small smile.
Zara rolled her eyes in disgust. "Ugh, please mention anyone but him."
"Aw, what's wrong Zara, did he hurt your feelings by not taking you on a date?" Korkie teased which earned him a smack on the head from Zara.
"Ow!" He groaned in protest. "What was that for?"
"For mentioning me dating Barron…it'll never happen." Zara groaned.
"I said the same thing about Alex." I said quietly.
"And look how that ended up." Korkie groaned making me laugh.
Eventually, after another hour of sitting in silence, as we had no energy or want to join the debate, we casted our vote to the Senate. Not surprising to us, the bill passed, thus signifying the creation of 5 million more clones for the Grand Army of the Republic. As soon as the vote was over and the results were displayed causing a round of applause, Korkie and I immediately stood up and walked out of the pod with Zara following behind us.
I groaned in annoyance as I pulled my dress along with me. Desislava had put me in a strapless black dress with a large bustling train that protruded from the back. The fabric was covered in shards of silver glass that reflected light when it was casted upon it…almost like stars. As I said before, Desislava is a genius, but sometimes her designs made me fight with myself.
Because the gown was beaded with glass, it made the dress extremely heavy, the only thing that made it a pain in the ass to deal with was the amount of fabric in the train. The train was huge, which caused me to fight with the dress, as the dress was probably my body weight, if not more. I also had a stupid crown on my head and extremely high heels on to help me not trip over the dress, so I was in extreme pain. I couldn't wait to go home.
Just as we all started to get closer to the speeder bay, I heard someone calling me.
"Your Royal Highness! Princess Aurora!" A familiar voice called making all three of us stop in our tracks.
I turned my head around to see Lux Bonteri practically running to catch up with us.
"You two go, I'll meet you." I explained.
"Are you sure?" Korkie asked.
I nodded. I stood still to allow the younger boy to catch up to me. Plus, I honestly didn't want to fight with my dress anymore.
"Your Highness." Lux began giving me a bow. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I wanted to speak with you."
"I can see that." I explained. "You seem tense, what's wrong?"
He shrugged. "How are you doing? I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother."
"Thank you, I'm doing fine." I explained. "My brother, cousin, and I are taking it one day at a time…but that's not the real reason why you have come to talk to me."
"How do you know?" He asked in disbelief.
"I can read your mind…you want to know what happened with Ahsoka…don't you?" I ask quietly and he nodded.
I sighed. "Did you not watch the HoloNet?"
"I did." He explained. "But I wasn't involved in the courts."
"She was framed for a murder and the temple bombing, and it wasn't her…it was another Jedi…what more do you want to know?" I asked in annoyance.
"I want to know if she's alright." He explained making my hard expression turn soft.
"She's safe." I replied.
"Where is she?" He asked.
I shook my head. "I can't tell you that."
He frowned. "Why?"
"Because then it will compromise her location." I explained. "She's safe…she's off-world and she's safe."
"She's safe?" He asked with concern.
I nodded. "She's safe."
He nodded. "Thank you."
I gave him a small nod before turning to walk away to go and meet up with my family. Eventually, once we all got home, it was late at night, and since we were all too tired to eat dinner, we all changed out of our Senate attire into our pajamas, where we all were much happier and ten times more comfortable. After we changed, we all gathered in the living room.
"What did Lux Bonteri want?" Zara asked as she tucked her feet underneath her as she sat down on the couch across from me.
I shrugged tucking my own feet underneath me on the same couch to face her. "He wanted to know where Ahsoka was, and if she was safe."
"Is he like…obsessed with her?" Korkie asked from the couch across from us.
I shrugged again. "I don't know. They both seem…in a haze around each other. I didn't tell him where she was."
"Where is she?" Zara asked.
"Corellia." I explained. "She's working for a spice dealer…she told Alex to drop her off there…she didn't say why, she said she needed some time alone."
"I don't blame her." Korkie explained. "Not that I don't trust Alex. But after being tried as a criminal, I'd want time alone as well."
Just as I was about to reply, the doorbell rang causing Korkie and Geenine to head towards the door.
"We got it." Korkie explained as he got off the couch and Geenine beeped in agreement.
I nodded before turning back to Zara. "I get that he's worried about her, but if she wants to be alone, I don't want to pry."
Zara nodded as she grabbed one of my hands. "That's all we can do."
"If I could block people from reaching her, I would." I explained with a small huff of amusement.
Zara gave me a small smile. "I know you would."
Just as I was about to reply Geenine came rolling back into the room beeping with excitement.
"Look who I found." Korkie said gesturing to Alex as they walked into the room.
"Why do you two look like sad sacks?" Alex asked in confusion as he looked over Zara and I.
I groaned as I put my head on the back of the couch.
"Tough day?" He asked.
"You have no idea." Zara explained and I groaned in agreement.
I picked up my head to see Alex and Korkie sitting next to each other on the couch across from Zara and I.
"You look tired." He explained as he looked over my facial expression.
"I thought you were on Corellia." I replied ignoring his comment.
"Chandrilla actually." He corrected.
"I thought Ahsoka was on Corellia?" Zara asked in confusion.
Alex sighed. "As far as I know. I gave her one of my commlinks to keep in touch if she needs anything from me."
I nodded. "I gave her a Royal commlink in case she needs anything from me as well."
"Did she contact you?" He asked.
"No." Zara, Korkie, and I all reply simultaneously.
"Same." He sighed. "Honestly if she wants to be alone, let her go."
"I got asked about her today." I explained.
"Who asked?" He questioned.
"Lux Bonteri."
Alex groaned in annoyance before leaning back onto the couch.
"You don't like him?" Korkie asked looking over his facial expression.
He shook his head as he sat back up. "It's not that I don't like the kid, it's the fact that I had to train that kid that learn how to fight…and he can't…at least not well."
"Is that true?" Zara said with a small smile as she looked at me.
I shook my head. "He wanted to join Death Watch…he wouldn't have lasted a day."
"Pity." Zara said with a small sigh as she stood up. "I'm going to bed….goodnight."
"Goodnight." We all replied as Zara walked to her room.
I look over to Alex and he nodded. He could tell I didn't want to have sex with him tonight, I wanted to pass out. I slowly stood up.
"Are you coming to bed?" I ask.
Alex nodded. "You look exhausted."
"I am considering I watched old people talk about nothing all day." I explained as I ruffled my brother's hair. "Don't stay up too late Korkie."
"I won't." He called. "Goodnight."
Later that night, as I was fast asleep in bed, I started to dream about somewhere volcanic. Somewhere I'd been but I can't remember it. I could hear lightsabers clashing in the distance, and I clashed my own lightsaber with a blue one. I couldn't figure out what this meant. The next thing I heard was someone screaming out in pain and agony before hearing an infant cry. That's when my eyes snapped open, and I immediately sat up and started to hyperventilate. Alex immediately sat up as well.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He said with concern as he put his arm around my back.
I shook my head. "I had a nightmare."
"Are you ok?" He asked, as he knew my dreams meant something. Whether it was a trick of the force or something that occurred in someone's life, I could never tell.
"I can't make sense of it." I explained. "I was somewhere warm and volcanic…somewhere I've been before, and I heard lightsabers clashing, and I could hear someone screaming, and then an infant crying…it doesn't make sense."
"You should tell Obi-Wan in the morning…and ask your brother if he had the same or a similar dream." He explained before kissing me on the cheek. "Right now, you should get some sleep."
I nodded before laying back down. Alex draped an arm across my abdomen and pulled me close as laid flat on my back so I could stare at the ceiling.
"Goodnight, Ro." He said sleepily as he drifted back to sleep.
"Goodnight." I said quietly.
That night, I couldn't fall back to sleep, as I tried to make sense of my dream. It meant something, but I couldn't figure out what it was. I will say one thing…it didn't mean anything good, and something bad was going to happen.
