As Demon King was on his way to the tower, he ran into the last of the Element 4: Fie. When they started their duel, Fie thought it would be an easy win. However, Demon King proved he's a lot tougher than Fie thought. When it seemed like Demon King had the advantage, Fie pulled a fast one over him. He showed that he had Kyubi trapped and threatening some serious harm to her if Demon King wins this duel.
"It's unfair, isn't it?" Fie said. The field showed all he had was Volcanic Rocket with 1800atk points and had 3800LP. Demon King had 1900LP with Edens Demon King at 2500atk points and Edens Hermit and Edens Sister with 400def points. It might seem like he has the advantage, but Fie's little trick will have him hesitate. "Well, life isn't fair. So, what's it going to be? Win the duel or try to keep your friend safe."
"Demon King, you must win this duel! Even if you lose, I doubt he'll let me go!" Kyubi said.
"That's true. We can't trust that he'll just let Kyubi go even if he wins, but we can't risk her safety either. Isn't that right?" Eden said.
"You are." Aoneko said as she didn't like it any better. She was even hesitate to film this because she didn't want to capture her friends suffering.
"While you try to figure out what you're going to do, I think I'll take my turn. I draw!" Fie said as he took his next turn. "I activate Blaze Rail!" He said. That was when a railgun appeared right on his field. "Thanks to this card, I can send one fire attribute monster in my hand to the graveyard to destroy one card on the field. In fact, I think I'll use it right now. I'll send my Volcanic Scattershot to the graveyard so that I can destroy one of your cards." He claimed as he discarded one and his weapon took aim. "Now, which one of your cards should I just destroy?"
"Creep." Aoneko said as he knows he's only thinking about it just to taunt Demon King.
"It's most likely he's going to destroy our strongest monster." Eden said.
"I think I'll destroy...Edens Sister!" Fie said with all of them surprised he would do that. His weapon fired away and blasted Edens Sister with her destroyed.
"Why did he not destroy our strongest monster?" Eden said.
"It's because I want to see what you will willingly do next." Fie said. "Besides, Volcanic Scattershot has quite the ability. Once it's sent to the graveyard, you lose 500LP." Fire blasted against Demon King again and caused his life points to drop to 1400. "I think I'll also have my Volcanic Rocket destroy your Edens Hermit!"
"Not if I activate my Edens Demon King's special ability to negate your attack!" Demon King said. Volcanic Rocket flew straight at Hermit for the attack, but Edens Demon King was able to block the attack.
"You think you can buy yourself some time? Trying to last long enough to save your friend? Don't bother because you can't." Fie said. "For now, I'll just end my turn. Let's see what you're going to do."
"It's my turn!" Demon King said as he drew his next card, but what is he going to do?
"Listen to me! You must attack!" Kyubi said. "You must defeat him to stop Drakken Joe! Don't worry about me and attack!" The problem with that is that Demon King can't bring himself to do that, but he doesn't have much that can help him at the moment.
"I'll switch Edens Demon King into defense mode." Demon King said as his monster took a knee and now had 2000def points. "I'm also going to summon Gravity Guard to the field!" He summoned his guard to the field with it having 100atk points. "When Gravity Guard is summoned, I can switch him into defense mode." His monster switched modes with it having 1600def points. "I'm also going to place one card facedown and end my turn."
"No! You should have attacked!" Kyubi said. "You have to win!"
"I can't do that! I won't sacrifice a friend like that!" Demon King said. 'At least with Edens Demon King and Gravity Guard, I can buy some more time.'
"Ha! I knew you wouldn't!" Fie said. "You're a fool! You never pass on the opportunity to obtain victory! You think that you're being honorable and noble? You're not. It makes you weak."
"Shut up! What would you know?!" Aoneko said.
"I know that I'm going to win and that's all that matters." Fie said. "Things like honor and nobility don't really exist in the world. The only thing that matters is victory! You failed to obtain it, and I will exploit it!" He drew his next card and was aiming to do some real damage. "I activate Burning Reload! I have to pay 800LP to use this spell!" His life points dropped down to 3000. "You know what that means when I lose life points." That was when the cage was affected and the thorns in it extended towards Kyubi.
"Stop it! Why would you do that?! I didn't even attack you like you wanted!" Demon King said.
"Because that also allows me to draw two cards!" Fie said as he drew two more with him taking delight in their torment. "And if one of them is a pyro-type monster, which one of them is, I get to draw one more card!" He drew another card and like what he got. He continued to love what he got knowing there's nothing Demon King can do. "I send another Volcanic Scattershot to the graveyard to power my Blaze Rail!"
"No! That means he can destroy a monster and Demon King will lose 500LP!" Aoneko said.
"Exactly! This time, I really am taking down your strongest monster!" Fie said as his Blaze Rail fired right at Edens Demon King and destroyed him with D.K.'s life points dropping down to just 900. "Next, I'll have my Volcanic Rocket destroy your Gravity Guard!" His monster went on the attack and destroyed it. "Next, I'll activate Share the Pain! With this spell, we both have to send one monster on our field to the graveyard. How painful this must be for you." Demon King hated this more and more. Fie was hitting all the right spots to spite Demon King, and there's nothing he can do about it. "I'll get rid of Volcanic Rocket."
"I guess I have no choice except to say goodbye to Hermit." Demon King painfully claimed with both monsters disappearing.
"Is this another one of your sick attempts to hurt him?" Aoneko questioned.
"It's called strategy." Fie said. "Now I summon Royal Firestorm Guards!" He summoned out a dragon-like beast with it having 1700atk points. "When this monster is summoned, I can return four pyros in my graveyard to my deck and draw two more cards." He said as he took four of his cards and returned them to his deck so he could get two more cards. "I'm sure you're counting on that face-down of yours, but it won't help you when I play Nobleman of Extermination, a nobleman as you can tell I'm not. It removes your face-down from play!" His last card was destroyed and could have been his last line of defense. "Ha! Now you are left with nothing! Next turn, you're finished, and I want it to hurt. I activate Flame Mutation! This spell card allows me to exchange Royal Firestorm Guards with another pyro in my graveyard: Volcanic Doomfire!" His strongest monster returned to the field with 3000atk points. "It's over! There's nothing you can do to win! Even if you pulled off a miracle, you can't without sacrificing your friends! You just said you wouldn't do that!"
"He can't win because of me..." Kyubi said as she hated this just as much. The only way for Demon King to focus on winning is for to get out of that cage, but there's only one way to do that. "If me being trapped here is the reason Demon King can't win, I will do what I must!" She willingly grabbed the cage and felt pain through her body as her virtual form was beginning to break apart. All of them were rather surprised to see that.
"What are you doing?!" Eden said.
"Kyubi, stop!" Demon King called.
"Don't do this!" Kyubi said.
"I must! You must win!" Kyubi said.
"You're sacrificing yourself so he can win?!" Fie said as he wasn't expecting this.
"Someone like you is not allowed to win. I believe in Demon King, and you won't win!" Kyubi said. "Win this, Demon King. I'll be waiting." She said with full faith in him. Then, she broke apart into data. This was what Demon King wanted to avoid, but she willingly allowed it to happen for him. Her friends couldn't believe that she was gone. Fie was the one that broke the silence with his evil laugh.
"What a complete fool!" Fie called. "She sacrificed herself to help you, but what a wasted effort! It's far too late for you! You can't win now! I can't believe she was stupid enough to do something like that in the first place, but saves me some trouble!" He kept laughing at the valiant sacrifice that Kyubi made.
"I don't see what's so funny." Demon King said. Fie looked right at him and Demon King was giving off this intimidating feeling and it grew when they made eye contact. He's containing a fire that's burning from rage more than any flame Fie has. "I don't see why you would be laughing at Kyubi. I don't see what's to laugh at someone making the ultimate sacrifice. You're completely sick, and you're the one who caused this to happen!"
"Act tough all you want, but the fact is that there's nothing you can do!" Fie called. "If you want someone to blame for this, blame yourself! You were the ones stupid enough to go against Drakken Joe in the first place!"
"If there's anyone to blame here, it's you!" Demon King shouted. "I swear that I will make you pay for this! I still have one turn!"
"Get real. You've got no cards in your hand or on the field. It's too late for one card to save you!" Fie said.
"Unless this is the card that saves me! Are you ready, Eden?!" Demon King said.
"I am." Eden said.
"I draw!" Demon King said as he took his next draw and is no longer holding back. "When I have no monsters on my field, I can special summon Gravity Slider!" He summoned out Gravity Slider with it having 1000atk points. "When Gravity Slider is summoned from his own ability, I can draw one more card!" He drew another card and it ended up being his witch. "I summon Edens Witch to the field!" He summoned out his witch that he got back earlier with her having 1000atk points. "When she's summoned, I can add any spell or trap card from my deck to my hand."
"And this one is the only one that can help us now." Eden said as the card popped out for Demon King to take.
"I activate Battle Dress on Witch!" Demon King said as her attire changed into that more of a sorceress. "Edens Witch, attack Volcanic Doomfire with Ether Magic!"
"You're throwing the match?! You should have done that when your friend was still in one piece!" Fie mocked.
"When a monster under the affects of Battle Dress attacks, everything plays in reverse!" Eden claimed. "That means your monster is destroyed and you're the one that takes damage." Fie didn't expect that. With the added power, Edens Witch unleashed a powerful blast that completely destroyed Volcanic Doomfire and Fie was the one that lost life points with it dropping down to 1000.
"This can't be! I had every advantage!" Fie said.
"Wrong! You only thought you did by relying on cheap tricks and cheats. If you really had every advantage, you would have relied on your own skills." Demon King said. "Gravity Slider, attack him and avenge Kyubi!" Gravity Slider went straight at Fie and gave him a powerful strike that knocked him off his feet and eliminated the last of his life points. "I could pound you around even more, but it won't do any good for Kyubi."
"This didn't go the way I planned, but you still won't win." Fie said as he continued to act cynical. "You may have beaten me, but there's no way you can beat Drakken Joe. You think you can beat him? You should be afraid of him. He's merciless. He even is doing this to people for his own good when he usually doesn't. Now there's really nothing holding him back. You should be very afraid."
"Is that why you worked for him? It's because you're afraid of him?" Aoneko questioned.
"No. I admired his tenacity. I'll see you sooner than you might think." Fie said as he broke apart into data and was heading for the tower himself now. To the very end, he was truly a cynical man. He even ruined this victory for Demon King, not that it even felt like one.
"Are you okay?" Eden asked.
"No. I couldn't save her." Demon King said.
"But there's still a chance to save Kyubi, as well as everyone else." Eden said. "With Fie defeated, Drakken Joe is the only one left. If we can defeat him, his tower will shutdown and all those being held inside will be saved."
"Eden is right. We can bring Kyubi back." Aoneko said. Demon King wished he could have saved Kyubi now, but there's nothing more he can do about that. He's got to keep going because they're right. Drakken Joe is the only one left. They have to defeat him so he can get his friend back, and that's what he plans to do.
