Hey everyone! So every now and then I get little one-shot ideas centred around Seras and her time in Hellsing – mainly her adjusting to life there and all that. I thought it would be fun to make them into a little series. They aren't all necessarily connected, and aren't in any particular chronological order, and I'll be updating whenever I feel like writing one of my random ideas. I hope that you all enjoy!

Rated M: Strong language, graphic violence, sexual references, sexual innuendo, occult themes, and all of that lovely Hellsing stuff.

Disclaimer: I do not own Hellsing. This is purely written for fun and no money is being made out of this. No copyright infringement is intended.

~ Game On ~

While indulging in some video games, Seras receives an unexpected visitor in the form of her master. What happens when the young draculina finds the courage to challenge him to a game of Mortal Kombat?

Dawn was fast approaching the Hellsing headquarters, but that didn't stop a young blonde vampire from starting up another match. With her new vampire vision, she could see more colours and details than ever before reflecting from her TV screen. Granted, it ruined the graphics for her slightly, her sensitive eyes being able to pick up every individual pixel, but it allowed for faster reflexes. Her fingers brushed across the buttons much faster than ever before, delivering combination moves that she had yet to master during her time as a human. Perhaps there were some perks to being a vampire after all...

Her mouth opened into a wide yawn, showing off her pearly white fangs as the colours of the loading screen danced across them. She really should be heading to bed, but she just couldn't face a night trapped in her new coffin. Besides, this was the most normal Seras had felt in a long time. Ignoring the dark, dungeon-like surroundings, she could begin to imagine that she was back home, enjoying some down-time after a long night shift patrolling the streets of London. Her Hellsing uniform was once again her police uniform, having been too lazy to take it off after such a long night. She was curled up on her sofa, a hot cup of tea next to her, her TV on, and the theme of one of her favourite video games blasting through her speakers.

Seras sighed to herself. If only.

However, the draculina supposed it wasn't all bad. Sir Integra had been kind enough to provide her with a small TV and mega drive console. Unfortunately, she wasn't allowed to take anything from her old flat – she was supposed to be dead after all. But when Seras had overheard one of the other soldiers talk about selling his console, the Hellsing leader had allowed it, much to her shock and delight. Maybe Sir Integra wasn't so bad after all. Maybe working for Hellsing wasn't so bad after all. There was no denying now that it had its perks.

Seras giggled as she lunged her character forward, button-mashing like there was no tomorrow. It wasn't long before she could initiate Sub-Zero's fatality move and ripped the head from her opponent.

"Fatality," Seras spoke along with the narrator, trying – unsuccessfully – to mimic the deep voice.

"What are you doing, Police Girl?" another, deeper, voice filled the room from behind her.

"Eeep!" Seras squeaked, her whole body launching itself into the air like a startled kitten. Once she landed safely back on her cushions, she whipped her head around to see none other than her master stood behind her. His eyes were invisible behind his orange lenses, though if Seras had to guess, he was probably staring at her TV. His expression gave nothing away, remaining blank, not even his usual smirk being present.

When the hell did he get in here? Seras' eyes drifted to her door that had remained in front of her and untouched the entire time. With a roll of her eyes, she supposed that she shouldn't have been so surprised. Her master had demonstrated many times that the laws of physics didn't apply to him. But what exactly was he doing in here? It was very rare he popped on by without some sort of message or order from Integra. For the most part, Seras was always left to her own devices; one of the main reasons she had been so keen to get a TV and games console.

"M-master!" she greeted pathetically.

He continued to stare.

"I... I was just..."

"It's almost dawn, Police Girl, why are you not in your coffin?" he chided.

"I... ummm..." Shit, Seras never knew what the hell to say when in his presence. His whole aura seemed to drastically increase the weight of the air within the room. Heavy, it pressed down upon her, making her spine feel like it was about to give way at any second. What was he doing in here? Had he just come in to purposefully make her uncomfortable? Did he get some sort of sick kick out of it? Seras already knew the answer to the latter question.

Her master continued to wait silently for her coherent answer.

With a sigh, Seras realised that there was no point in lying. He would just see right through her anyway, with or without reading her mind. She looked away back towards the television as the next match tried to automatically start itself up, leading the draculina to quickly pause the game before closing her eyes. No doubt she was about to get another lecture.

"I can't sleep in a coffin, master."

"Oh?" Alucard seemed to purr. "Why ever not?"

Seras sighed again, feeling her cheeks being stained pink. "I... I just don't like it... it makes me feel uncomfortable..."

Bang!

The young draculina squeezed her eyes shut more tightly as the echoed memories of gunshots sounded in her ears. However, she quickly shook her head, dispelling them. No. She wouldn't go there. She refused.

"So instead you decided to waste your time with human entertainment systems?" He approached, stopping at the side of her to gaze at the TV with both curiosity and destain.

"Hey, it's not all bad!" Seras tried to argue.

"I agree that the advances of human technology is fascinating, but what use does a vampire have for moving pictures on a screen?" He glanced down at her, and Seras shivered under his gaze.

"Because... it's fun?" was all the draculina could offer in response.

Her master sniggered before ruffling her hair. Seras didn't even bother to smooth her blonde locks back down afterwards, too in shock over her master's sudden teasing behaviour. She so very rarely saw this side of him. In fact... she wasn't aware of this side of him at all. Then again, they didn't exactly spend a lot of time around each other except on missions.

"You are such a strange little creature, Police Girl," he taunted. "Surely real violence is preferable to this fake computer generated one?"

Seras rolled her eyes and held the second controller out to him. "Why don't you see for yourself?" she had challenged him before she could stop herself. She had expected her master to laugh at her, or maybe even crush the controller within his grasp, but instead, he examined it as if it was a complete foreign object to him. Seras' blue eyes softened at the sight, and she had to struggle to contain her chuckle at the almost child-like curiosity decorating her master's features. One hand smoothed down the wire, giving it a small pull before re-tracing its path back to the controller itself. His fingers traced over the buttons before he stared back at the TV in confusion.

This time, Seras couldn't contain her giggle as she exited back to the main menu to switch to two player mode. Slowly, Alucard sat down next to her, still going along with his fledgling's little challenge. The character selection screen appeared, and as always, Seras immediately went for Sub-Zero, her all time favourite. Meanwhile, Alucard sat still, staring at the screen.

"Errr, master? You can choose your character now?" Seras tried to encourage.

"Why would I want to be a character?" He raised a black eyebrow at her.

"Because that's how you play the game?"

"I wish to play as myself."

Seras chuckled. "And you will. You'll just be playing through the character; you control all of their actions."

Alucard wrinkled his nose before staring down at the controller and pressing his thumb down on the first button that caught his eyes. The button just happened to be the 'select' one, assigning Alucard with the first character on the menu: Johnny Cage. The master vampire appeared indifferent towards his selection, merely watching the loading screen.

"The aim of the game is simple, master," Seras explained, "you just have to beat the other person to death. Press different buttons for different combination moves."

The game loaded up, and Seras immediately went to work in fighting her master. He did nothing for a few seconds, before finally pushing down on some of the buttons, kicking Seras' character to the other side of the screen.

"Hey, not bad, master!" she chirped.

He remained silent, concentrating on the game intently. Soon, Seras could feel herself working up a sweat as she tried to keep up with her master's own reflexes. He certainly provided her with a challenge. It seemed to take him only a few seconds to get the hang of the controls, much to her chagrin. Could she ever beat her master at anything? Even in her home territory of video games, he had somehow managed to best her.

"Fuck!" Seras yelled as she desperately tried to keep her character from losing.

"Tsk tsk, such language, Police Girl." The smirk finally re-appeared on her master's face.

"Yeah, well eat ice, master!"

Alucard dodged her blow with a chuckle, both of them leaning closer to the screen in concentration.

"No!" Seras yelled in defeat when her master finally knocked her out.

"Does this mean I win?" Alucard's smirk widened.

"Beginner's luck," Seras grumbled, mainly to herself.

"Again," her master ordered.

Seras blinked and glanced up at him. "W-what?"

"Again. Make it go again."

"S-sure..." As if her master was getting into this... It felt so strange... relaxing and playing video games with her master. She was so sure that he would laugh at her, but here he was, indulging in one of her hobbies. It felt so surreal. Maybe she was just dreaming? Either way, the draculina didn't want it to end. She was having too much fun. This was the most relaxed she had been since her turning.

So with a smile, Seras started a new match for them, both of them picking the same characters. Seras doubted that her master neither knew nor cared to know how to select another character. He was pacified as he was, so Seras wasn't even going to attempt to potentially start an argument with him.

The two vampires played on into the day, losing all track of time and ignoring the call of their bodies to sleep the day away. Of course, her master had the advantage of age and strength on his side, and soon, Seras was slouching over her controller, struggling to keep her eyes open. They felt dry and heavy, and she could no longer concentrate on the game properly. Her master kept going, seeming oblivious to his wearying fledgling. However, even he couldn't remain oblivious for long as he was soon getting no response from his apprentice. He glanced down to his side to see Seras slumped forward over her crossed legs, the side of her face pressed against the cushions.

Alucard sighed and placed the controller back down on the ground.

"I suppose I can let you off just this once, Draculina," he declared before smirking. Reaching down, he carefully picked up her limp form and laid it down in her coffin. "But tomorrow, prepare for the re-match of the century."

Mega Drive – For some reason, here in the UK, we called the Sega Genesis 'The Mega Drive.' No clue why there was a name difference between continents. I'll admit that 'Genesis' sounds a lot cooler. So yeah, since Hellsing is set in Britain, I stuck with the British version of the name. I hope this clears up any potential confusion.

I personally see Seras as being a bit of a video game fan, don't you? And of course, I can see Alucard taking a little bit of interest in violent video games lol. For the record, I also do not own Mortal Kombat. I hope that you enjoyed this little one-shot, and of course, there will be many more to follow. Please feel free to leave you opinions in a review as they always help me out! Thank you so much for reading!
