Souls of mortal kind have told stories of legend. Stories of Mortals that break their human limits through life changing adventures and trails. Monsters of myth that have both painted the unknown with tales of imagination and horror. And the divine chronicles of Gods & Goddesses, who's actions shape the very fabric of reality.

Chronicles such as the twelve trials of Hercules, Sun Wu Kong journey into the west, and Odin's quest for knowledge. But all immortal Pantheons have two things in common, their duty of shaping the mortal world, and the responsibility of souls. One being above all others ruled over all individual pantheons, respected by all, and revered for his phenomenal power.. A Primordial being who existed before the creation of our universe itself, the King of Gods.

But no record of his name or title was ever recorded, for when the beginning of space & time needed intervening the most, he vanished.

Some believed that the king never existed, just a centuries old story to give meaning to other gods. Much like how gods gave meaning to morals. But few deities still believe, for after the king's alleged disappearance, a relic of great power was rumored to be left behind in his place. His very own crown. Whomsoever claims it, shall have dominion and govern all. The rule over every Realm, to the balance of every Afterlife. Obtaining allegiance of every species of Monster, Elemental, to the very last Divine Spirit. But most importantly, the rule over all Gods. But in exchange for such power came at a great cost. For the chosen ruler would be forever bound to the most unthinkable of realms. Free to rule, but forever trapped, never able to leave.

Still this opportunity for such power sparked a war among the divine, all to whom would find the crown first. But who could bare its responsibility, or where would one find such a treasure. For rumor is the crown had a spell placed on it. An enchantment that prevents those who would seek it, would never find it. Some say the crown has a will of its own, choosing whom it deems worthy to hold the title of pantheons. Other's say it is not a crown at all, but something else entirely. No one knows the full story, still this did nothing to stop the battle for dominion. Brother & sister continue fighting against each other for dominion, golden blood spilled in a never ending conflict.

But while Gods became preoccupied fighting their war, the balance of souls had shifted into an unforeseeable outcome.

For the pantheon of the biblical mythos saw opportunity that had changed everything. While others squabble in their never ending fight, the Angels of Heaven & Demons of Hell seized opportunity and stole the souls destined for another afterlife.

Those destined for the "Elysium Fields" or the "Field of reeds" to enjoy the fruits of their labor in life.

Those destined for "Valhalla" after dying on the battleground either of an honorable or heroic death in combat.

And even those destined for "Nirvana" or the "Upper World" for obtaining enlightenment through obtaining a spiritual epiphany.

Wrongfully denied their rightful afterlife, they were instead sent to Hell. Forever trapped in the pride ring, contributing to hell's overpopulations. Robbed of their eternal reward promised, only to meet the cruel blade of Heaven's army of executioners. They were only known as the "Exorcists", for they alone had the power to destroy souls. Souls wiped out of existence by their holy weapons and great hubris, making a living hell for the trapped denizens of Hell..

Originally, the angelic authority thought to claim these souls for their domain. Claiming that they were giving them a paradise far better than others. Showing a better path for humanity. But unfortunately their picky nature, strict laws, and close minded view on the morally gray sadly prevented most from entering Saint Peter's gates. Hypocrisy of Heaven's authority and Hell's hunger to corrupt human souls to sin. Above all else, taking any hope away from any new Sinner that would arrive. Disrupting the balance, souls wrongfully condemned, and the wheel of reincarnation had stopped.

But all that is about to change.
