I should probably explain why I am standing face to face with my nemesis dressed in a wedding gown. I should also probably explain why the Mighty demon of perish and doom who could potentially destroy our world was standing goofily in a corner with a wide, terrifying smile of victory on his face, exposing his demonly white teeth. Yeah, you guessed it right. I am marrying my great old nemesis, whom I hate with every drop of blood in my body. Oh wait, I don't have blood in my body. Anyways, this enviable loathsome being is my to be husband, I probably shouldn't bathmouth him on his face as he stood before me pale in the face while sporting an evident grimace. I am sure he is as uncomfortable with this marriage as I am. But, you see, there is no other option. 'Either get married or watch me destroy your world into ashes along with everything you have ever cherished.' Were the words that had been quoted by the insane demon King 15 minutes ago. Marrying my nemesis, Jason, was a thought that would have never crossed my mind, even in a thousand years, until today. I was startled out of my thoughts when I heard the priest's gruffy voice echoing throughout the cave. "Do you take Zafrina, the princess of hell, as your lawfully wedded wife?" Something in his voice made it clear that it wasn't a question. A deep dark silence ensued. I looked at Jason's face. His emerald green eyes were fixated on his feet in a distant forbading gaze as though he was trying to destroy the world himself so that he could get out of the sticky situation he was in. His lips were clasped shut in a silent protest. The Demon King didn't like what he was seeing. He banged his red hot iron staff on the cold cave floor. Tiny bits of the cave stalagmite rained down on us, but Jason's gaze didn't move in the slightest. Even when being faced by the Allmighty demon King, Jason didn't loose his composure due to him bearing the title of the prince of heaven. But, no doubt, I was wayyyy better at doing that than him. His lowly acting skills couldn't even reach mine, forget surpass mine.
The priest was growing impatient. He looked as if he was on a tight schedule and as if he had to wed another pair of unwilling spouses.
Jason finally lifted his gaze from the floor. Deliberately avoiding my gaze, he looked at the priest. His lips parted, and out came two faint inaudible words. " I do." He seemed to have realized that how much ever he wished that all this would turn out to be a very terrible dream, it wasn't going to as it was all very terribly real. The Demon King smirked as if he had made the impossible, possible. Yah, that was actually kind of true. The marriage of people from the two different sects of heaven and hell was an act forbidden since time memorial. Not even one book, scripture, or ancestral tablet dating back billions of years had ever stated otherwise. If it ever happened, the married couple's soul along with everyone in their blood line, was banished to the deepest darkest depths of eternal agony in hell. They would perish in hellfire forever due to their deeds going against the rules laid down by their ancient ancestors. Me, being the princess of hell and Jason being the prince of heaven ( I hate to admit that he's on the same level as me ), we were born and brought up to hate each other and plot about overthrowing each other every second of the day. But now that we were forcefully getting married to keep the demon from destroying our world, we made it clear that this would remain a secret that we would never dare tell anyone. A secret that we didn't know would change our lives forever. We being the second highest powers in our whole entire world after our fathers, if anyone came to know about our marriage, the consequences would be unimaginable. I don't even want to know what will happen to me. I can't afford to die while being the goddess of death. That would be a disgrace to my face.
Back to the marriage, the priest was chanting an ancient mantra while Jason looked as if he had been doused with a bucket of ice cold water. Right next to his legs, thorns were sprouting out of the cave, which weren't there before. She had seen flowers pop out wherever he went but thorns was something she had never known he could grow.
