5 hours before the squad arrived at the Batcave
"Bruce, I am here, what happened?" Duke Thomas the newest Robin questions rushing down the batcave's stairs into the armory to see Bruce struggling to hold something. "Bruce?"
"DUKE…..Run," Bruce demands, activating his helmet.
"Bruce let me help you," Duke says, placing a hand on the hero.
"If you wanna help me you can…DIE!" Batman screams, grabbing Duke by the arm and tossing him into the knight star suitcase.
"Ugh," Duke groans, getting up and throwing two smoke bombs on the ground.
"You really think you can stop me with my own tech?" Batman questions activating his visor and tracking Duke's head signature. "Found you," Batman says, catching a punch thrown by Robin and kneeing him in the gut.
"PFTT!" Robin spits out some blood. "Try this," Robin groans, kicking Batman in the stomach before launching into the air.
"Trying to hide from me? There is nowhere you can run," Batman says, activating the remote explosives in the cave.
"I wasn't hiding," Robin whispers, appearing from behind Batman with a taser in one hand and Nightwing's baton in his other hand.
"Why do you keep using other people's stuff?" Batman questions grabbing Robin's hand with the taser and dislocating it.
"Mmm," Robin muffles, holding back the tears.
"Impressive, You are getting pretty strong, but you still have one major weakness," Batman states.
"Which is?" Robin questions.
"The legs," Batman says, kicking Robin's leg and shattering it.
"AHHHHHH!" Robin screams slamming the baton in Batman's hand and knocking the hero to the ground. "Ugh…Huh ... .Gurrr," Robin groans, hobbling deeper into the armory.
"Catch," Batman whispers, throwing a batarang clean into Robin's left leg.
"Hmp," Robin groans, locking the door and suiting up.
"Open up ro- No, Open up Duke," Batman demands, hacking into the door.
"What happened to Robin?" Robin questions adjusting a face mask and picking up a sword.
"Robin is the name of my sidekick you are not," Batman says, opening the door to get kicked into a railing.
"Well then guess is the end of our partnership then," Robin Duke says glaring at Batman.
"Guess it is," Batman says, pulling out a brainiac-infused sword and rushing toward the armored Duke Thomas.
"RAH!" Duke screams charging toward Batman with two electric gauntlets.
"I never understood why I took you in?" Batman questions jumping over Duke's fist and kicking him in the jaw.
"BECAUSE YOU TRUSTED ME! Just…. like I trusted you," Duke whispers slamming the dark knight into a wall before turning around and punching him deeper into the wall. "Bruce?" Duke questions looking into the hole only to receive two batarangs in both his shoulders.
"Rule one always make sure I am dead before you lean into dark holes," Batman states running up to Duke and slashing his mask off. "Lesson two always be prepared," Batman says, attaching two bombs to the mech and letting it destroy the suit burning Duke's arms.
"You son of a bitch," Duke groans, throwing a punch only for Batman to catch it and break his arm.
"And lesson three," Batman starts pulling out an infected knife and stabbing Duke's leg.
"AHHHH!" Duke screams getting thrown to the ground.
"Never fight me alone," Batman says, jumping at Duke and starting to choke him out. "Any last words?"
"Yeah," Duke groans, seeing the infection start to reach his neck. "You forget lesson four,"
"Lesson four?"
"Yeah, Lesson four," Duke mutters, firing two energy blasts from his hands and launching Batman away. "Never underestimate Duke Thomas," The young hero says, getting up and running away.
