Sooo, I got this 'plot bunny' for an Inglorious Basterds one shot, and I've decided to write it. It's based on Donny Donowitz comforting the love of his life after she has a horrible nightmare, and helping her through the night. I've written for this fandom in my mind, but never on paper, so it might not be superb, but I'll give it my best shot. Rated T for mature themes and cursing.

Rosaline didn't know where she was. She was walking through the halls of what looked to be some dark palace or manor but didn't know how she'd gotten there. She tried to call for someone, but it seemed she couldn't hear herself speak.

The woman was scared, terrified beyond reason, but couldn't fathom why, or of what. However, she felt a horrible sense of dread, like she was being watched by a being of pure evil. The feeling seemed to be wrapped around her, like a too-tight blanket on a hot summer's night, only feeling cold, less inviting. The hair on the back of her neck stood up, as she tried to survey her surroundings.

Stained glass windows were on one side, and dark doors were on the other side of the dark corridor, making the place seem like something Dracula or some old villain would live in.

She didn't know who was really after her, though.

Suddenly, Rosaline heard bootsteps behind her. With her sense of dread more prevalent than ever, she turns around slowly and stiffly, dreading what she's going to see.

Behind her stands the most terrifying sight ever. Adolf Hitler himself. The Jewish woman gasps in fear and runs away from him. He takes off after her, eyes looking more murderous than ever before.

"HELP! SOMEONE, HELP ME!" She tries to scream, but just like before, she can't hear herself. It's like the words are in her mind, but won't come out. She looks behind her, and Hitler is gaining on her! Suddenly, she begins moving as if she's running through thick molasses, while Hitler keeps his fast pace.

Rosaline stops being able to run entirely, and Hitler gets closer and closer and closer. Terrified beyond belief, she tries to run, but the Fuhrer reaches out and grabs her!

She then wakes up in a cold sweat. Hands are gripping her arms, but not tightly, like Hitler. These hands are strong and powerful, yet gentle and loving. Her eyes take a second to adjust, and she sees the love of her life, Donny Donowitz, known as The Bear Jew.

"You okay, doll?" He asked, in his signature Boston accent. His question was short and direct, but his eyes and voice sounded very concerned and worried.

Rosaline tried her best to explain. "Oh, oh GOD, it was just a dream…" She hugs Donny's muscular torso.

Donny, knowing his love is scared, pats her back. "You had a nightmare, didn't you? Yeah, war does that to a person." He then looks at her in her eyes. "You wanna talk about it? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to, babe."

Rosaline knew the object of her nightmare was a sensitive subject, especially during this war, but she knew she could tell Donny about anything.

"It was about…" She never liked saying his name. It felt gross in her mouth and made her body go cold to say it.

Donny waited. He didn't want to press further, because he didn't want to seem pushy.

Rosaline summoned her courage and said what was on her mind. "It was about H-Hitler…" She slightly stuttered when she uttered his name.

Donny's face turned compassionate. She's had Nazi nightmares while sleeping with him before, but never about the Fuhrer himself... This just made him feel even more bad for her and made him want to comfort her all the more.

"Awww, come here…" He gave her a big hug and held her against his chest. Rosie started to softly cry from both fear and relief. Fear of Hitler, and relief that she was safe in the arms of the one she loved.

"He chased me… It was horrible… I couldn't even move… Then he grabbed me…" Rosie said, slightly muffled by Donny's shirt.

"Babe, I understand completely. He's one terrifying bastard. I hate him and wish no one, especially you had to deal with nightmares of him."

"Donny, since we're Jewish… What if the nightmare comes true? I mean, he DOES already want us dead…"

Hitler had never been known to kill anyone himself, instead sending others to do his dirty work, but this was clearly a very real fear for Rosaline. And Donny had the exact answer to that question.

He pulled away from Rosaline, softly dried her tears with his calloused hand, and said, "Rosaline, if that fuck ever, EVER tried to harm you, he'd be a dead man." Donny pointed to his bat that stood against the wall. "See that over there? That will be the last thing that murdering son of a bitch ever sees if he tries to harm my beautiful princess." He said this in a firm but caring tone of voice.

The Jewish woman felt like swooning. She felt lightheaded because she knew she'd found the one. The man who'd go up against the most dangerous man in the world just for her. She then smiled slightly.

Donny smiled back, and replied, "I won't let Hitler hurt you. I love you too much."

"I-I love you too..." Rosaline said, before putting her hand on Donny's bicep. She puckered her lips up. Donny then realized what this meant. He did the same, and they kissed. It was a kiss of love and protection as if Donny was vowing to always protect her through the kiss.

When the kiss ended, Donny reached around his neck. He took off his Star of David and held it out to Rosaline. "Here. Wear this, and you'll always feel safe from Hitler and his Nazis."

Rosaline slightly shook her head. "No, Donny, I can't take your Star!"

"I insist. It wi be like having a part of me with you at all times. If you ever have a nightmare about Hitler again and he sees you wearing this, he'll KNOW it belonged to The Bear Jew, and he'll haul ass away."

Rosalind chuckled slightly, and let Donny put the necklace around her neck. "Thank you. I love you so much."

"Love ya too, Rosie!" Donny then looked into her eyes and noticed how tired she was. "You look tired. You wanna get some sleep?"

Rosaline nodded, and Donny laid down, let her get comfortable against his chest, and turned the light off. He began stroking her hair while softly humming, the vibrations soothing her into a deep, nightmare-free sleep. I guess Nightmare Hitler was so scared of Donny that he didn't even bother coming back after he gave her his necklace.

The end

Alright, here's the thing. I MAY continue this. This plot bunny kind of evolved into a story about Donny going to save Rosaline from the SS and Hitler, fulfilling his promise, but I don't know if I should continue it or leave it as a one-shot. Leave a review if you think I should, though! Stay lucid!
