Leonard Hofstadter gave a sigh as he stood nervously outside of his neighbour's door.

Recently his roommate Sheldon Cooper and himself had received a new neighbour, a man by the name of Harry Potter.

Harry was a handsome man who was in his late twenties. He was of average height, taller than Leonard was and he had a slender but athletic type of build. He had short, messy black hair, wore a pair of black glasses that were round and behind the glasses he had eyes that were of an emerald colour that Leonard thought was quite beautiful.

Harry also had a scar on his forehead that Leonard thought looked interesting, it was in the shape of a lightning bolt and seemed quite unique. Leonard couldn't help but wonder how his neighbour could have gotten such a scar.

Leonard was completely aware that Harry was probably out of his league as Harry seemed to be cool, and confident, quite unlike Leonard, and he was quite attractive. Also, though he was sure that Harry had only recently moved into the building he thought that Harry so far was a nice and polite person.

Harry had been living in the apartment building for only a week now and Leonard had during that time developed a bit of a crush towards the other male, though he barely knew him.

He had spoken to Harry before, he had welcomed him to the apartment building when Harry had first moved here and would try to say hi to him whenever they saw each other.

Now he had gathered up his courage and was trying his best to calm his nerves as he knocked on Harry's door in an attempt to ask Harry out on a date at a coffee shop.

Perhaps even, if Harry was interested, watch a movie, or play some video games when they returned back to the apartment.

He was hoping that Harry wouldn't mind how much of a geek he was because he really liked Harry.

Soon Leonard felt panicked as he heard footsteps from behind the door and the door opened to reveal his neighbour.

Harry, as always, looked quite handsome and was wearing casual attire of jeans and a plain black shirt.

For just a moment Leonard found himself speechless as he stared into those pretty emerald-coloured eyes of his neighbour and as he did this Harry was staring at him with a friendly smile on his face.

"Um…Hi Leonard" greeted Harry.

"Um….Hi Harry" said Leonard in return.

There was a brief silence as Leonard tried to get out his words, as he tried to not be so nervous.

"Do you want something Leonard?" Harry asked, a curious tone in his voice.

Leonard gave a nod, "Yes! Yes, yes, I want something. I want…I want…Well I mean um…I was actually wondering if you are not busy if you would want…want to…to go out on a date with me for some coffee and then come back to my place and watch movies or play some games?"

A surprised expression appeared on Harry's handsome face, before he smiled, blushed a little and nodded.

"Sure Leonard! Sounds like a fun date, did you want to go now or is this date for another day?"

Leonard was surprised, he hadn't expected Harry to accept the request. "I…What? I…What? Really?"

Harry nodded. "Yes, why not? You seem alright…I was actually going to go out and get some beers but a date with a cute neighbour sounds much better"

"Wait! What? You think I'm cute..." said Leonard.

Harry blushed again, "Yeah, I…I do."

"Great! Great! How…How about now then?"

"Sounds good to me…just let me change into something a bit nicer and we can go"

Leonard nodded, "Ye…Yeah…Yes of course , so…so I'll you in a bit then!" Leonard said before quickly returning to his apartment to change while Harry changed into something better as well.

Soon Harry and Leonard met up in the hallway and not long after went by Harry's car to the coffee shop.

Once there they got a table for two and sat down, before ordering.

"So, tell me about yourself Leonard. What do you do for work?" said Harry.

Leonard was silent at first, feeling awkward and not sure what to say to his date.

"Well, I…I…I work at the university , I'm a scientist there…"

"You're a scientist? Cool…so you must be really smart then!" said Harry.

"Yeah…I…I guess I am…" said Leonard grinning. "What do you do for a living?"

"I work at a restaurant not that far from the apartment, it's alright. What kind of stuff do you like? I like sports, I sometimes like to read and I like to cook"

"I'm not a big fan of sports, I got bullied a lot as a kid" admitted Leonard. "Do you watch it or play it?" he then asked.

"I watch it, I used to play a sport when I went to a boarding school in England, but now I just watch it."

Leonard and Harry were suddenly interrupted in their conversation when their meal of chips and their drinks were placed on the table.

They were quiet for a bit while they drank their drinks and ate the chips.

After a while Harry talked again, "I got bullied a lot in school myself, from my cousin and his friends"

Leonard looked at Harry, "Really? You don't look…um…sorry… you seem like you're really confident and cool Harry"

Harry smiled, "Thanks…I think. What kind of things do you like? Do you have hobbies or interests?"

Leonard nodded, "Um…er yeah, I watch movies, tv shows and I play video games with my friends"

Harry smiled, "Sounds fun, I was never allowed any of that stuff as a kid and then as an adult I was just always focused on other stuff to really try them out"

"Really? You've never watched TV, movies or played games? Wow…If you want I could show you some of the stuff I like when we get back to the apartment." said Leonard.

Even though Harry seemed quite interested in this suggestion Leonard couldn't help but feel worried. Afterall, it was quite rare that cool, confident, and attractive people like Harry turned out to be nice and still liked him once they found that he had geeky hobbies and interests.

"That would be great Leonard! I'd really love that!" said Harry, excitement in his eyes.

"Really? Great!" said Leonard, smiling but still feeling quite worried.

After their drinks and meal of hot chips, the two men returned to the apartment where Leonard showed off his DVD and game collection. They watched some of the DVDs together and later played some games.

All throughout this Leonard felt incredibly nervous but to his relief Harry seemed to be really enjoying himself.

At 5:30 PM Harry and Leonard were still sitting very close together on the couch, though now they had abandoned the video games and were watching a TV series together.

Leonard wasn't paying too much attention to what they were watching anymore though as he was just so much more focused on the physical proximity between them.

He was focused on the fact that at some point while they had been sitting there on the couch that Harry had grabbed his hand, something that made Leonard feel quite happy. He was focused on the fact that Harry had a nice smile and he was focused on the many thoughts going on in his head that were telling him to kiss the man who sat beside him.

He wasn't sure if Harry wanted that though, hand holding was one thing but would Harry want to kiss him?

Harry seemed to be really enjoying the date so far and Harry had been the one to initiate the hand holding so maybe…just maybe he wouldn't be against a kiss, possibly hopefully a kiss that could lead to them making out on the couch.

Leonard decided to just ask.

"Would..Would it be okay if….if we kissed?" asked Leonard nervously.

Harry stared at Leonard, looking nervous. He blushed before he soon nodded.

"Sure, um…okay" Harry said with a smile.

Leonard grinned and he happily and quite eagerly kissed his date.

They kissed for a while, a brief nervous and awkward kiss soon turning into a make out session just as Leonard had hoped it would.

It was only when Sheldon arrived home when Harry decided that they finally end the date.

"I better go Leonard, thanks for the fun date, it was great. Call or text me whenever you want, I'd love a second date with you" Harry said before giving Leonard his phone number.

"Definitely!" said Leonard, with a happy grin.

Leonard then kissed Harry on the lips one more time before Harry left to his own apartment.

Leonard still had a happy smile on his face as he ordered Sheldon and himself dinner. He had what was probably the best date he had in a while and he had it with a great guy who really liked him so far.

He looked forward to seeing Harry again and he was already looking forward to when they would have their next date.
