Lara Jean looked outside her window, New York had such a strange and enthralling smell. It had been a wonderful four years here. Lara Jean had fallen only more in love with New York. She loved the pastries, the people, the trees, the hotdog stands every two steps. She never wanted to leave.

She only had one more month until school ended, her lease had to be renewed, and she had to decide where to go… She and Peter hadn't talked about where they would be after college, although both thought about it.

It seemed pretty obvious to Lara Jean, at least. Peter would move to New York, she already had a couple of jobs lined up. Many professors had connections here, and LJ's writing had made quite an impression. Three publishing houses were practically banging down her door, but she hadn't made a decision. There was still a month to decide on what to do, but a lot can happen in a month. She wished her mom was there to help her.

"LJ– what should I wear to pick up Trevor at the airport tonight?"

Lara Jean snapped back into reality, she hated when her mind let her drift off, "Huh?"

"What are you thinking about anyways?" Chris giggled, she knew LJ tended to swim in her thoughts.

"Sorry. Just some stuff. What did you say?" LJ shrugged her shoulders.

"What should I wear to pick up Trevor from the airport?" Chris repeated.

LJ looked through her closet shuffling through shades of yellow, pink, and floral prints, "What about this? This would be so cute on you!" Lara Jean threw a light blue dress to Chris.

"Seriously, LJ? You know, for my best friend you don't know my style very well." Chris retorted.

"What about this, Chris?" Gen butted in, showing Chris an edgy black dress.

Chris snatched the dress right out of her hands, "Gen! That's perfect!"

Chris was excited to see Trevor, it had been a few months. He was saving up money to fly out to her. Trevor was paying his way through school, so buying a ticket out to New York wasn't something that he could just do. Every chance he got, though, he did. Lara Jean wished that Peter was coming too, but they only had one more month, "LJ, you wanna come with?" Chris asked.

"I'm good. I should probably stay. I have a new cookie recipe I found–"

Gen barged in, "Lara Jean, you need to get out of the house. I will come too, come on. It'll be fun."

Lara Jean sighed, "Getting out of the house? We are going to the airport, I hardly consider that getting out of the house."

Chris elbowed her, "LJ, we are leaving the house. Hence the whole leaving part. You've been inside like all day today. I knew not having Friday classes was going to be bad for you."

Lara Jean conceded, "Fine, I'll go."

"Why don't we all go out for some dinner? It'll be on me." Gen smiled as she grabbed her purse. Gen was currently working at The New York Times as a receptionist, she was pursuing journalism. Gen said it wasn't the best job, but a start. Also, she got paid very nicely, so she said she didn't have much to complain about. Plus, she had met a really cute guy during her first week there named Drew. They had been going out for a while, they were pretty serious, "I'll invite Drew too!"

LJ sighed at the thought of fifth-wheeling, but Chris caught her, "LJ, come on! It'll be fun. Lemme go get changed and we can head off, why don't you put on something cute too!" Chris picked up the dress LJ offered her, light blue with pink flowers, "Put this on!"

Lara Jean smirked, "Alright, alright."

The girls packed into Gen's car, which was an SUV. Why she needed an SUV in New York was beyond both Chris and Lara Jean's understanding, but Gen loved it. She said it made her feel more "adult." Chris was squirming with excitement, she hadn't seen Trevor in six months. Lara Jean was coming up on four months without seeing Peter, so needless to say she was a little jealous. Chris yelped, "I can't wait. Ugh, I can't wait. This is worse than when I was in Costa Rica."

Lara Jean, under her tidbit of jealousy, was happy for her friend, "I am so glad you finally get to see each other."

Chris just sat with her hands folded in her lap, waiting patiently for them to arrive at JFK. Lara Jean felt a buzz from her pocket.

Margot

Hey sis! How are you? I miss you, I feel like I haven't talked to you!

Lara Jean

Margot, we literally talked two days ago. Lol. I am fine… Just figuring out what to do after I graduate. Kind of confusing.

Margot

Well… two days is an eternity for sisters! Cut me some slack! Yeah, I get it. It can be a lot… but, I have some good news for you!

Lara Jean

Please tell me you aren't moving to Toyko or something.

Margot

No, no. I am moving, but to NEW YORK!

Lara Jean

WHAT?! STOP IT RIGHT NOW ASKJFLDSJKARIEWGOHGIRWOAHG

Margot

Ravi got a job there! It's easier anyway because we can do some wedding planning stuff out there too… I don't want to be wedding planning out in Scotland. Too much. But anyways, yes! We are moving in like two months.

Lara Jean

Seriously just made my day. Omg.

Margot

K, gotta go! I love you. Just wanted to let you know ;) I will see you soon 3

Lara Jean

I love you too! :) 3

Lara Jean couldn't help but contain her excitement! Margot was moving to NYC! Chris and Gen were both so happy for her; Lara Jean was thrilled. It helped ease the sting of not seeing Peter. They arrived at the airport, and Chris could hardly stay in her seat. Her hand was on top of the seatbelt, ready to unfasten at the exact moment she laid her eyes on Trevor. Gen rounded the corner and Chris saw the back of his head, it looked like he was talking to someone.

"Let me out! Let me out!" Chris pleaded.

"I am going as quickly as I can, Chris! Chill," Gen annoyingly replied.

The car pulled up, and Trevor turned around. Lara Jean gasped, her whole family was there too. Dad, Tri, Kitty, Margot… and behind them all was a tall, handsome brunette. Peter. Lara Jean's eyes started to well. She and Chris toppled out of the car as quickly as they could. Trevor ran to pick up Chris, "I missed your crazy curly hair, you know."

Lara Jean was overwhelmed, she was confused as to why her whole family was there. She stood blankly, not knowing what was going on. She thought that someone had died, or that maybe their house burned down or something. Maybe they all came to break some bad news, or maybe–

Before Lara Jean could think of one more horrible thing, a calloused hand met her cheek, "Hi, Covey."
