Oneshot, also my first time writing and publishing something I wrote. So I'm starting off with something not very serious.

It was going to be a quick job, easy money, in and out, Cahara thought. Yet every moment that passed and every monstrosity that He had run away from made the feeling that He would be stuck down in the dungeons for far longer than He could anticipate.
From the malformed guards which one almost chopped His arm off, to the damn Crow with a mauler for a left arm and everything else in between , He shuddered at the thought of simply crossing paths with those creatures and dreaded the thought of getting cornered..
Cahara couldn't afford any of either now that He had a Girl, a child that looked barely a day older than eleven or twelve years old with Him, but the dungeon wasn't letting Him catch a breath, running through the dungeon corridor, with the Crow Mauler chasing… no, just walking, yet still catching up to Him.
Through Cahara's peripheral vision, He saw one of the libraries that He passed through when He first arrived at the dungeons, "What's the point of having a library in a dungeon?" was Cahara's first thought when He first came upon one, but that was the least of His concerns now.
At the left turn right ahead, a malformed Guard walked into view, forcing Cahara and the Girl to halt, "Shit!", Cahara shouted, " In the library, now!", the Girl went in immediately, Cahara then turned to the Crow Mauler, preparing His scimitar to strike, yet when His eyes reached the Crow, it was already reaching out with its right arm, Cahara couldn't react fast enough and He was now dangling off of His feet at the Crow Mauler's stranglehold.
Cahara thought the worst of whatever the Crow Mauler was going to do, yet to His surprise, instead of crushing His neck, pecking His eyes out, or just using its mauler, it simply threw Him at the bookshelves.
Cahara felt paralyzing pain on His back from the force of the throw, enough to move the heavy bookshelves along with the books it had stored, slowly it all fell, He looked towards the entrance of the dungeon, and the approaching figure of a crow head, and then, a falling book fell into His line of sight, exposing its content to His eyes.
And then everything… just slowed down, the book was on midair, the Girl put Herself between Cahara and the approaching Crow Mauler, and Cahara.
/
The Girl put Herself between Me and the damn Crow, for Her, it may have been an instant, but for me, it's been at least an hour, when that weird book fell into my eyesight everything just slowed down, and then came the massive headache.
The rites of madness… Al-azif… Ex mortis…. Necronomicon… Golden throne… so much knowledge being forcibly crammed into my head, knowledge on just about everything, from the ascension of Alll-mer, to the city underneath the dungeons, and most importantly, the man I was supposed to rescue, I can see Him at His cell, Throat slashed, blood flowing…. I don't think I'm gonna get paid for bringing back a corpse.
"But that's not the problem at the moment!", I thought to Myself, the Crow was still approaching, very slowly, but still very much approaching. I can't let it get close to Me, or the Girl.
"Did the book give Me magic?!" I asked Myself as I began to rack my brains,"Yes!", "Can I use it for offence?!", the answers naturally came to me and I begin to cast whatever magic the book gave me.
I got up, the pain that paralyzed my earlier had subsided, everything's still going slow, I grab the Girl's shoulder and pull Her behind Me as I stare at the slowly approaching Crow.
Raising my arm and pointing my finger at it, an otherworldly feeling building up at the tip of the finger I raised and pointed at the Crow, and the malformed guard right behind it.
Shit, I don't know how powerful this sorcery is going to be, as soon as it blows them back, I'll carry the Girl and run like hell back to the entrance.
The buildup of otherworldly energy on my fingertip formed a small black sphere that then grew to about half the size of the crows torso judging by how much its covering from my view.
"Its time!" just as the black sphere was completely formed did the passage of time go back to normal. The name of the spell I'm casting came to me as the Crow and the Guard advanced at a rapid pace.
"Black Orb!" I shouted as it launched itself at the two monstrosity, I prepared to run like hell with the Girl the moment it hit them and blew them back,"Get re-", as I was about to tell the girl to brace Herself did the effect of the spell leave me in awe and speechless.
The black orb went through the Crow, reducing the left part of its body to bits and pieces of flesh on the floor as the blood fell like a waterfall, the malformed guard was much less fortunate as it utterly destroyed the entire upper part of its body, the black orb then went through the wall leaving a hole big enough for a person to fit through, I see some grass, tree, and sunlight but my entire focus was on the black orb entering through the wall on the other side of outside that.
…. I, look at the Girl, and She's also looking on in awe, I heard two other voices from the newly formed walls, but snapping the Girl out of Her stupor is my concern at the moment.

Ragnvaldr walked through the courtyard, He had only reached the dungeons yet already He could feel its Evil, the same that He felt on the cursed lands of Vinland.
He thinks about the creatures that He has seen so far, from the malformed monstrosities, to rotting undead ghouls. The Man that He is hunting, the scum that massacred His Home and family should be somewhere deeper in the dung-
His thoughts are interrupted as a black magical orb with a purple light exploded through the wall through His right and blew another hole on the other wall to His left.
"What in Alll-mer's name was that?!" He almost shouted in bewilderment, normally He would keep His thoughts to Himself, but He was simply so flabbergasted at the sight of a magical orb going through walls.
"That was an advanced Gro-goroth spell, to whomever was asking." He turn to the voice behind Him and saw a pale man with long white hair in a dark priest robe coming out of the wall to His left side.
He drew an arrow and prepared His bow as He approached the wall that the spell had come out of, "who or whatever casted it must be dangerous.", He entered through the hole and saw on the ground one of those malformed guards with its upper body entirely destroyed with its blood and organs flowing out, and a monster with a crow head cawing its last as it lays on the floor with the left side of its body destroyed.
He turns His head up and see's a man with dark blue hair wearing a leather armor comforting an orange haired girl dressed in rags, a look of awe and admiration on Her eyes, the man finally turns His head, surprise in His face, and then happiness "finally, its been a good while since I last saw someone normal." He then started walking towards Ragnvaldr, "name's Cahara, you?"
"Ragnvaldr, Are you the one who casted that orb spell?"
"Well… I guess so." Cahara looked like He wanted to say more but felt a headache as He closed His eyes and put His right hand to His head.
The dark priest had also entered through the hole, "You guess? What kind of –" His eyes then landed on the book on the floor slowly fading away, scanning its cover, the dark priests eyes widened in surprise.
"You caught a glimpse of a Necronomicon?"
"Huh? Was that the name of the book that gave me magic?" Cahara asked, "that thing gave me an absolutely unbearable headache, but it was worth it for the magic I guess, it saved me and the Girls life."
"Unbelievable.", said the dark priest, "Necronomicons are known to drive insane even those who dedicate themselves to the old gods with even a glimpse."
"Eh, but I feel perfectly fine, will it drive me insane eventually or-"
"Its supposed to be immediate, but you somehow withstood it, you may refer to me as Enki, I would like to know more of what the Necronomicon gave you."
"So I get to keep the magic for absolutely free? Cool! I can't wait to show this off to Celeste." Cahara looked ecstatic, and so did the Girl.
"I do not know much about sorcery Myself but even I can see how foolish that thought is." Ragnvaldr said, lowering His bow now that He knows Cahara is no threat.
"Right you are, but first, We need to get to my study room so we can learn more about what the Necronomicon gave you." And before Cahara could say anything, Enki continued, "trust me, it will benefit you to know more about the blessings it gave you."
Cahara couldn't argue, "all right then, lead the way."
