Chapter 2
Lucas extended his hand to hers. She took it. The couple made their way to the kitchen. And had breakfast with the remaining kids around the table. Natural light from the windows.
Colorful plates and cups. French toast. Sausage links eggs with cheese or ham.
Brooke took Shelby and Salem to school. While Lucas made his way to work. The business buildings were some of the tallest in town.
Lucas checked in with his receptionist before going straight to his office.

"Tell me what's going on in the life of the young and hopeful?" Brooke asked.
This was the life she had wanted and hoped for. A successful career. Her family. The man she had been in love with since she was 16.
They had grown up as people yet the love bond and connection. Had remained strong.
Neither were foolish or naive. Marriage wasn't a fairytale it took time work and effort to keep going. Especially through rough patches.
My parents practically exploded with rage when i informed them about the pregnancy and my plans to marry Lucas.
They wanted to keep me in their life. And when i refused to do what they asked. I had a choice to make.
Them or Lucas. And i choose Lucas.
Ted and Victoria wanted nothing to do with me.
