That Was Unexpected

Harriet Selene Jasmine Potter was just enjoying her day walking around in London well not really enjoying it then a gentleman walked up beside her and said, "Can you pretend that we are madly in love with each other?"
Harriet looked at the man like he was crazy but ironically she agreed to do as the man asked even though she was grieving; but what she hadn't expected was what felt like an electric shock go through her when the man kissed her with such passion out of the blue. It felt as if he was taking away her pain, her sorrow, and trying to rekindle her spirit somehow.
At that moment, two people had ran past them. However, the man that was kissing her with such passion must've felt the electric shock as well because once they separated from their passionate kiss and said, "Thank you, Miss for your help and apparently your kiss was phenomenal."
Harriet blinked and watched the man leave.
The man went behind a building and took off his disguise then he noticed that the young woman was still standing there as if she was in shock. He wanted to know something about her; so he stayed hidden and her say, "I wonder if the guy knew that I actually let him steal my first kiss regardless that I've never been kissed before."
The man was completely shocked to learn that he had stolen a first kiss from the young woman; however, he recalled that while he was wearing a disguise that the young woman had seemed like she was grieving over something or someone. He had also noticed that she had this wore out look as if she had been in battle.
So, he decided to approach her again but as himself and he wondered if she would know him without his disguise.
Harriet watched as a gentleman approached her from the direction that the man that had kissed had went. So, she wondered if this was the same guy or not.
"Hello, Miss." The man said.
"Hello, Sir." Harriet said.
"I take it that you are originally from Surrey." The man said.
"More or less, sir." Harriet said.
"My name is Sherlock Holmes, and I apologize for our meeting each other unexpectedly considering I was in disguise at the time." The man said.
Harriet blinked at the man processing what he had just said for a moment. Then it dawned on her that he was apologizing for earlier but said, "It's okay, Detective Holmes. It just took me by surprise that's all."
Sherlock was surprised that she was telling him that she wasn't angry with him and asked, "Are you sure?"
Harriet nodded and said, "Although, I think that it was the first time that I had been asked to pretend to be madly in love with someone before."
Sherlock couldn't but chuckle at how calm the young woman was about the whole thing. Then he asked out of curiosity, "How did you know that I was a detective?"
Harriet laughed a bit and said, " You're reputation of being a consulting detective for Scotland Yard is well known throughout all of England."
Sherlock was amazed at hearing that.
Then they heard, "Sherlock?!"
Both of them turned in the direction of where the voice came from to see three men heading towards them.
"John?" Sherlock said.
"Where were you, Sherlock?" The man asked.
"I was out, John. In disguise." Sherlock said.
"Sherlock, we have a case that we need your help on." The other man said.
"And I suppose that you went over everything, Lestraide?" Sherlock questioned.
Harriet watched Sherlock talking to the other two men and was amazed that he was literally deducting some things as the man called Lestraide was telling him.
She wondered exactly what had happened earlier between her and Sherlock because she was pretty sure that he had felt the electric shock as well.
Sherlock noticed the young woman that he had met so unexpectedly by kissing her while in disguise seemed lost in thought that he asked, "Are you alright, Miss?"
John and Lestraide looked at the young woman and were stunned to learn that Sherlock had or was talking to a woman because some people thought Sherlock was gay.
The young woman looked at Sherlock and said, "Yes and No but thank you for distracting me from the grief that I have felt for a while, Mr. Holmes. However, I do still mourn for family and friends that I have lost."
Sherlock wasn't exactly sure how to respond to that but said, "You're welcome, Miss."
Harriet laughed a bit and said as slid something into his coat pocket, "My name is Harriet Potter, Detective Holmes and it was a pleasure meeting you."
Sherlock and the other two men watched as the young woman walked away.
At that moment, Mycroft walked upto them and couldn't help but ask, "What was Lady Potter-Black doing here?"
Sherlock's eyes went wide when he heard what his brother had just said. He put his hand in his coat pocket and felt a peice of paper in it that he pulled it out.
"Sherlock, what is that?" Mycroft asked.
"Apparently, it is an invitation to visit a place called Grimmauld Place." Sherlock said.
Mycroft was completely stunned that Sherlock was being invited to Lady Potter-Black's home. He had never been invited to her home but he wondered why she had invited his little brother to her home.
"Who is Lady Potter-Black?" John asked curiously.
"Lady Potter-Black is a young woman whose parents were killed in front of her at the age of one and her godfather was killed by his deranged cousin in front of at the age of fifteen in which he declared her his Heiress hence the title Lady Potter-Black. By the time she was seventeen; she also had confronted her parents killer for the final time." Mycroft said.
Sherlock was actually listening to what Mycroft had said and then he said, "That would probably explain the grieving expression on her face because it seemed that she hasn't been able to mourn the loss of her family and friends. Yet, she still mourns them even if she was distracted from it for a bit; but it's still painful for her regardless because she still feels the weight of the deaths on her shoulders."
Mycroft, John, and Lestraide looked at Sherlock with curiosity.
"What do you mean, Sherlock?" John asked curiously.
Sherlock chuckled and said, "John, Lady Potter-Black was aware that I was a consulting detective for Scotland Yard sometimes and it seems that she trusted me for some reason. However, I assume that even though that I was wearing disguise; she realized who I was considering that this was the first that we have ever met each other. She's very intelligent and mysterious when she wants to be. Although, she's grieving; she's also upset with several people who betrayed trust and used her almost like a child soldier."
Mycroft nearly choked on his tea.
"How do you know that, Sherlock?" John asked.
"I merely read between the lines of what she wasn't saying at the time." Sherlock said.
"Sherlock, what will you do since you were invited to Lady Potter-Black's home?" Lestraide asked curiously.
"I'm not sure but I am curious as to why she invited me instead of Mycroft." Sherlock stated.
Mycroft was also wondering that as well.
~The Next Day ~
Sherlock Holmes arrived at Grimmauld Place and knocked on the door. He was surprised when a creature of sorts answered the door and showed him into the room that was considered the parlor room.
Sherlock was looking at the pictures in the parlor were moving and he was simply amazed by them.
"Detective Holmes?"
Sherlock turned to see Lady Potter-Black standing there; he seemed lost for words at the moment and nodded.
"I hope you're not upset with me. I actually wanted to get know you because I think something happened that was completely unexpected between us." Harriet said.
Sherlock looked at the attractive Lady Potter-Black and said, "I agree with you, Lady Potter-Black. Something happened between us which was indeed unexpected."
So, Sherlock and Harriet sat there in the parlor and was talking. Ever so often, the little creature would pop in bringing them some tea and snacks until it was time for dinner.
As Sherlock was tackling the fact that Lady Potter-Black was witch and was very wealthy and the fact that it was possible that a soulmate bond formed between them from that one kiss.
"Sherlock?" Harriet said.
Sherlock looked at Lady Potter-Black and said, "I must that is indeed an unexpected situation from what you have told me and yet, I find it exciting."
Harriet blinked in confusion looking at Sherlock and said, "Pardon?"
"I'm aware that my brother, Mycroft is aware of the Magical World; however, I don't know if he was aware that something like this could possibly happen. I know that I wasn't and yet I find it extremely exciting as well as it has me curious. I don't mean to sound odd about it." Sherlock stated.
Harriet just smiled and said, "Detective Holmes, I am aware that your brother knows of our world but he is unaware of the consequences of soulmate bond which would lead to my death and your death because somehow our souls are one. I want to get to know you because I don't want to force this on you."
Sherlock could tell that Lady Potter-Black was telling him the truth and said, "Correct me if I am wrong, Lady Potter-Black but if I am understanding you correctly without you telling me all the details; we're actually married through magic but we'd eventually have to make it really in the non-magical world."
Harriet nodded.
"If that's case then there's a possibility that we must have sex then." Sherlock said bluntly.
Harriet blushed but nodded.
Sherlock realized by Lady Potter-Black was a virgin; so he decided to apologize to put her on the spot like that. That he said, "Lady Potter-Black, I apologize I didn't mean to offend you."
Harriet looked at Sherlock and said, "You didn't offend me, Detective Holmes. I am just nervous about the sex part of that is considered the wedding night."
"Ah. I guess most brides would be nervous and quite frankly; I wouldn't blame you because I believe that my brother, Mycroft would definitely be shocked that I am married unexpectedly." Sherlock said.
"If you wish, Sherlock, we can go to Gringotts which is a magical bank to confirm if what we felt was that of a soulmate bond to just be on the safe side. I know I should have suggested that first." Harriet said.
Sherlock looked at Harriet and said with a smile, "I believe that I can understand why you didn't suggest that at first. I believe you wanted me know what was happening first but you also wanted to get to know me. Yet, I feel as though that this is unexpectedly interesting and strange as well as adventurous all in one. So, I suggest that we go to Gringotts now or after dinner if you like?"
"I agree that we should go immediately just to be sure that what I have told you is true, Sherlock because I do not wish to force you into a situation that you're not comfortable with." Harriet said.
Sherlock could see that Lady Potter-Black well probably now Lady Sherlock Holmes should they discover that Lady Potter-Black was correct about them having a soulmate bond and married by magic. So, he agreed with her and left immediately for Gringotts before dinner.
Meanwhile, back with Mycroft, John, and Lestraide...
"I wonder what Ms. Potter-Black wanted to talk to Sherlock about?" John questioned.
"I don't know but I have feeling that I'm going to have to explain a few things to you and Lestraide until Sherlock's return." Mycroft said.
"What do you mean?" John asked looking at Mycroft.
Mycroft sighed and said, "I'm going tell you something and it can not and will not leave this room."
Both John and Lestraide nodded.
So,Mycroft started explaining several things to them. However, they were completely unaware that Mrs. Judson herself was a witch and was listening to their conversation because she was aware that Lady Potter-Black was a powerful young woman. However, she had a feeling that Lady Potter-Black and Sherlock were definitely soulmates and Mycroft would get the shock of his life because his little brother would be married to Lady Potter-Black by magic.
When Mycroft finished telling John and Lestraide about the Magical World and just exactly who Lady Potter-Black was; the two gentlemen were completely shocked.
"But why won't you allow Sherlock to know?" Lestraide questioned curiously.
"Because Sherlock doesn't know how dangerous things can be in the Magical World." Mycroft said.
John sighed and said, "What if Sherlock knows about the Magical World and is waiting for you to confined in him?"
Mycroft looked at John and said, "What do you mean exactly, Dr. Watson?"
"Well, you two are brothers and may be Sherlock feels a bit cheated on some information." John suggested.
Lestraide decided to be sarcastic and said, "It's not like Sherlock is secretly married to Lady Potter-Black through magic."
However, little did they know that Sherlock was heading to the Magical bank of the Magical World with Lady Potter-Black at that very moment to see if he and Lady Potter-Black were I fact married by magic.
Back with Sherlock and Harriet...
Harriet and Sherlock entered a pub called The Leaky Cauldron. Harriet immediately linked her arm with Sherlock's as she quietly told him why she was doing it. So, he nodded in understanding.
As they entered Diagon Alley, Sherlock was amazed at how they had entered the Alley; while Harriet just smiled at seeing his reaction to it as well as his reaction to everything that they had passed making their way to Gringotts.
Witches and Wizards were wondering who the gentleman was with Lady Potter-Black; some of the muggle borns knew who he was and were shocked to see him with the Savior of the Magical World.
"So, it's amazing how unique this is?" Sherlock said looking at the shops.
Harriet was amazed that Sherlock was actually by her world and said quietly to him, "What do you think about my world?"
Sherlock looked at Harriet and answered quietly to her, "It's beautiful in its own right because in a way it feels like you've traveled back in time sort of."
"I don't think anyone has ever said that before?" Harriet said looking at Sherlock.
Sherlock smiled at Harriet and said, "Well then, I'm happy to be the first."
They had reached the bank when suddenly someone said, "Harriet?!"
Both Harriet and Sherlock turned to see a woman and a man approaching them. Sherlock had this feeling that Lady Potter-Black didn't want to talk with these two.
"Harri, where have you been?" The woman asked.
Before Harriet could say anything, Sherlock said somewhat truthful, "Do you have to know where she was? Because she was with me and we were talking about some things involving a case that was important to the Queen of England. She had quite the in sight and now if you'll excuse us; we have to see some goblins about something important."
The man and the woman was shocked as they watched Harriet and the unusual man walk inside Gringotts.
Some of the muggle borns heard what Sherlock had said and one of them looked at the man saying, "Sir, you have no idea who that man is with Lady Potter-Black is. He's very intelligent and he's quite famous; even though Lady Potter-Black helped him out on a case then she may have had her reasons."
"Who is that man then?" The woman said looking at the muggle born that had addressed her husband.
"That's the Great Detective, Sherlock Holmes and he helps Scotland Yard on some of their toughest cases." The muggle born answered.
"Why would a detective be doing here?" The man questioned.
"Perhaps something happened that they called him in?" someone suggested.
~Inside Gringotts ~
"Ah, Lady Potter-Black and Mr. Sherlock Holmes." A goblin said greeting them.
"Hello." Both Harriet and Sherlock said together.
"Both of you follow me, please." The goblin said.
Harriet and Sherlock nodded and followed the goblin immediately. As they were following the goblin; Sherlock seemed to be amazed by how big the bank actually was on the inside.
Then they followed the goblin into his office and there sitting at the desk was King Ragnarok. Sherlock seemed amazed and watched Lady Potter-Black greet the goblin behind the desk and he followed suit to be polite.
"Lady Potter-Black Holmes and Detective Lord Sherlock Holmes; welcome, I assume that you came to figure out if you two had a soulmate bond?" Ragnarok questioned.
Both Harriet and Sherlock nodded.
"Well, you do and when Detective Holmes kissed you while in his disguise it immediately activated which means that you two are married by magic. It also means that you two will have a wedding night as the muggle borns say and we can help make your marriage legal within both world; Lord and Lady Holmes." Ragnarok said.
Back at 221B Baker Street...
Mrs. Judson had fixed it up because she was aware that Sherlock Holmes and his wife would return soon.
"Mrs. Judson?" John questioned.
"Yes?" Mrs. Judson said.
"What brings you here in Sherlock's flat?" John asked with Mycroft and Lestraide with him.
"Well, I figured I would tidy up the flat for Sherlock because I think Miss Potter-Black may visit him often." was all Mrs. Judson said.
"Why would Lady Potter-Black be visiting my brother often, Mrs. Judson?" Mycroft asked curiously.
"I assume that are friends, Mr. Mycroft." Mrs. Judson said.
Mycroft wondered if Mrs. Judson knew something that he didn't because as far as he knew; she was a muggle but could she possibly be a squib or was she a witch? He wasn't sure and that's why he hated dealing with anything from the Magical World since witches and wizards could pass for normal people. Where as squibs could normally considering they had no magic what soever.
"I wonder where Sherlock could be?" Lestraide questioned.
"Well, Lestraide, we know that he's with Lady Potter-Black. However, we don't know when he'll return here to 221B Baker Street." John stated.
Suddenly, Mrs. Judson said, "It would be interesting if Sherlock and Lady Potter-Black were married because it would mean that Sherlock was no longer a bachelor."
The three men looked at her curiously and it was Mycroft who said, "Mrs. Judson, do you know something that we don't?"
Mrs. Judson looked at Mycroft and said, "How well do you know the Magical World, Mycroft Holmes?"
John and Lestraide were stunned to hear Mrs. Judson mention the Magical World; when Mycroft told them about it like a few days ago or was it hours ago.
"I am well aware of the Magical World, Mrs. Judson." Mycroft said.
"Then you'd be aware of the soulmate bond then?" Mrs. Judson questioned curiously.
Mycroft blinked.
"Soulmate Bond?" Lestraide questioned.
"What is a Soulmate bond, Mrs. Judson?" John asked a little curious.
"Soulmate Bond is a magical marriage meaning that the two involved souls are one because they're destin to be together but there is something unique about this particular bond." Mrs. Judson said.
Then the next that they heard was aloud THUD.
They turned to see Mycroft Holmes passed out on the floor.
Moments later, Sherlock and Harriet walked in and saw Mycroft passed out on the floor of 221B Baker Street.
"Sherlock, where have been?" John questioned.
"I was with Miss Potter-Black and we to figure something out." Sherlock said, "And tell Mycroft that he finally figured out what exactly going on when I ready was aware of what was happening."
Harriet giggled.
[Author's Note: Okay so in this one shot, I don't know if I should make Mrs. Judson a witch or a squib because it would be interesting if she knew about the Magical World better than Mycroft Holmes.]
