So, I just want to thank everyone for being patient with this story. I will try to convince myself to update this at least once every week or every other week, but no promises. I do have a full-time job, two puppies, and two dumbass younger siblings. So thank you for being patient with me and I just want to thank everyone in advance for the next chapter.

Hiccup waited for Jack at the main entrance, just as instructed. He rubbed the new bruises on his arm (Heather was not happy Hiccup was spending time with Jack after school instead of her, apparently). Hiccup honestly didn't know why Jack wanted to hang out with him. The two didn't know each other all that well. And the invite was so out of the blue.

Hands grabbed Hiccup's arms. "BOO!"

Hiccup cried out in surprise (and pain) as he whipped around. "Jack?"

"Hey, Hic. You ready?"

Hiccup shrugged. He didn't know if he was ready or not. Jack just smiled as he led Hiccup to his car. Despite Hiccup knowing Jack was rich, Hiccup was surprised Jack drove a nice Mercedes-Benz. It looked so shiny and new.

"Like her? I call her Stacy," Jack stated proudly.

Hiccup looked at Jack like he just took a shit right before him. He honestly didn't know how to process this information.

"Why 'Stacy?'" Hiccup asked.

"Because I want to be with her dad."

Hiccup cocked his head in confusion. He didn't understand what Jack meant by what he said. Jack picked up on it right away and seemed to be offended by it. Playfully, of course, but Hiccup didn't really know any better.

"You know the song Stacy's Mom, right?" Hiccup slowly nodded in confirmation. "Well, there are parodies out there about going for her dad."

"Oh." The more Hiccup thought about it, the more he realized he probably just looked stupid.

Jack pulled out his keys from his pocket and unlocked the car doors. Before Hiccup could ask where Jack wanted him to sit, Jack opened the passenger door and gestured to the seat in a gentlemanly fashion.

"For you, Sir." Hiccup could only watch in confusion as Jack bowed as a butler would to his master. Hiccup jumped into the passenger seat, choosing to ignore the weird gestures, setting his backpack between his knees. Not before thanking Jack, of course. Hiccup didn't want to be rude to the only person who was being nice to him.

On the way to Jack's, Jack made sure to play as many "Stacy's Dad" songs as he could.

There was such a difference between the house Hiccup survived in and the one Jack lived in. The pictures on the wall were a good start. There were so many happy, smiley faces on pretty much every wall of this house. Jack was even in quite a few of them. On the other hand, Hiccup's house had very few pictures on the wall. there were so few of them, all of them were put on the same wall. They were of Stoick, Gobber, Hiccup's mother, family members from both sides, and all other friends. Hiccup wasn't in any photograph. It was like he did not exist. He wished that were the case, then his parents could still be together and maybe they would have another child or two. Hiccup would just be forgotten.

The next difference was the atmosphere. Hiccup's house was cold, dark, and uninviting. Stoick always had that aura around his body when Hiccup was around. Of course, Stoick would have that aura under check around his friends, but Hiccup could always feel it. Jack's house, on the other hand, was so warm, cozy, and welcoming. Hiccup hoped Jack's family had the same aura as their house.

Walking into the kitchen with Jack, Hiccup felt relief at how nice they were all being. Even though they all seemed pretty unhappy with Jack for bringing a stranger home without them knowing about it.

On the way to the house, Jack told Hiccup stories about Jack's family. Like how loving and caring Jack's mother - Katherine - was. But sometimes she is a little clumsy. Rose - Jack's little sister - seemed to be all sorts of annoying, but in that sweet, solicitous, sisterly way. Ombric - Jack's father - was a strong man, similar in shape and build to Hiccup's father. Hiccup was just thankful Ombric was not as big as Stoick.

Currently, the two boys were in Jack's room, playing a game called Minecraft. Hiccup found he liked the game, despite his rocky start. Jack and he were working on building a mansion. They were still working on the first floor, but they were impressed with how the wood-and-stone monument looked so far. Although, the creepers seemed to have a different idea about their mansion.

"So," Jack said, breaking the silence. "You having a good time?"

"Of course!" Hiccup exclaimed. "I haven't had this much fun in a long time."

Or ever.

Hiccup never had any friends to hang out with. In order to entertain himself, he would find a book to read. He was always hungry for knowledge and being part of an amazing journey through the author's words.

It was almost the only thing he could eat. Not literally, of course. But there have been times were Hiccup had thought about eating paper to stave off his hunger. It would be nice if there was food in the fridge he was allowed to eat. He was so thankful the Frost family shared some food with him. It felt so good to be full of food!

Jack smiled at Hiccup.

"Glad you are enjoying your stay."

"I'm sorry to say this," Ombric said from the doorway of Jack's room. "But Hiccup should get home soon. It's getting dark outside."

The two boys pouted but got ready to leave.
