Hey everyone! I am so sorry for the delayed chapter; the past 2 weeks have been so stressful for me – I am officially single as my partner decided that he doesn't have 'time' for a girlfriend…so I had to look for another place (I had moved in with him 6 weeks ago) while having no money.
Advice for couples who want to move in with each other…make sure you know your boyfriend/girlfriend well enough. I knew my ex-boyfriend for 7 years as friends and only dated him for 5 months before he asked me to move in with him; that's when his true colours came out…turns out he is very childish and immature and is in a $40,000 debt and has debt collectors after him. So I am glad to be out of that relationship and not have to deal with that but at the same time, he broke my heart so I am on the road to mending it.
I will try to update this story as much as I can fit it into my busy schedule of work and photography.
Enjoy this new chapter and I would love to read more reviews!
Kelsey couldn't describe in words how horrible the stench from the troll cave smelt. The cave itself was just as bad; flies flew around the entrance, rotten corpses littered the ground and ripped clothing half buried in the dirt. She quickly placed a hand over her nose and walked back to Kili and Fili, who had also taken refuge away from the entrance. Watching Gandalf, Thorin, Bofur, Gloin, Nori and Dwalin walk in to investigate, Kelsey began to rub her temples as a headache began.
The pain was so excruciating, Kelsey had to sit down on a large moss covered rock. She knew it would subside soon as it was a recurring headache back in her world. Popping one of her pills into her mouth, Kelsey ignored the frowning stares that she was getting from Kili and Fili.
"Are you alright, Kels," asked Kili, sitting down next to her. Kelsey simply nodded and started to fiddle with her necklace; a nice reminder of her parents back on Earth. "Do I need to get Oin? You did hit your head earlier from your fall."
"Just a headache, Kili, it will pass soon," she replied with a small smile. Kili suddenly took hold of her left hand and squeezed it in reassurance before asking another question.
"Didn't I tell you to stay at the camp?"
"Yeah well I decided to ignore you. Which I'm glad I did, or you all would have been troll chow," she said, lightly punching his arm, a huge smirk across her face. "I had to save all your stupid butts from being eaten."
"This is true," laughed Fili as he ruffles Kili's already messy hair. Kili throws his arms out to push his brother away; and that was how a wrestling match started between them. Kelsey just rolled her eyes and laughed before walking away from the brawling brothers.
"Miss Kelsey, I believe I have something that will benefit your talents," said Gandalf, beckoning her over. In his hands was a silver bow and quiver full of arrows. The silver bow was decorated in small, beautiful stars and moon embellishments. Kelsey gazed in awe before taking them from Gandalf. As soon as her fingertips curled around the bow, she was thrust into a vision.
A baby girl lied sleepily in the arms of a young woman. Her hair, silver like starlight, was pulled back into a low bun and tiny stars sparkled in it. She was quietly singing a lullaby to the sleeping baby and rocking her back and forth. A presence behind her signalled the arrival of her husband; an agonising pain filled her heart for she knew what had to be done.
"How is our little star-rose?" the man asked, as he hugged the singing mother from behind. His finger reached down and stroked his daughter's porcelain cheek, a smile spreading across his face.
"She has your hair and my eyes," the woman laughed as she lightly placed a kiss on his lips.
"Good; means she got the best features from both her parents," he laughed, gently taking his daughter from his wife's arms. The cradling gestures were their last goodbyes to the precious daughter, who would have to leave in order to protect her.
"Yes and this means she will also get our stubbornness," claimed the woman, stroking the baby's soft brown curls. The little baby sighed in her sleep and nestles her head into the crook of the man's arm.
"She will need it," the man sighed, before placing a kiss on her forehead.
"Goodbye, our dear Merilwen."
Kelsey gasped and staggered back; bow in hand. Gandalf looks at her questionably before looking at her nose. A sudden warmth ran down her nose and Kelsey realized that what she experienced after taking the bow had caused her to have a nose bleed. She quickly grabbed a clean hankie from her pocket and placed it over her nose. Damn; it had to bleed in front of everyone.
"Miss Kelsey, you are bleeding," claimed Bofur as he scrambled from the entrance of the cave, disturbing some of the rotten corpses.
"Thank you for stating the obvious, Bofur," mumbled Kelsey as she started to wipe the blood away. She glanced over to all the dwarves and they were once again staring at her. Sighing, she gave them all a quick smile. "Really I am fine. I get nose bleeds all the time. Absolutely normal."
After her reassurance, the dwarves quickly nodded and continued in whatever they were doing. But Kelsey knew that the nosebleeds were not normal for her and she had a very bad feeling that the cancer was increasing at an enormous rate and she feared for how long she had left. Placing the quiver and bow on her back, she quickly drew her dagger when a shout of alarm rang through the group, signalling someone was coming their way.
What she didn't realise, that this someone was going to make her have even more questions than before, of who she is.
So please review and let me know what you liked about the chapter. I am currently writing this at 1am in the morning so there might be some mistakes; just let me know and I will try to fix them.
Hope everyone have a lovely day and I will try to bring out another chapter soon.
