Kelsey stood in the all familiar halls where she first met her mother. Lanterns shimmered in starlight as she slowly step towards the empty thrones in front of her. Not a single being was in the hall, an eerie silence covering it like a blanket. Kelsey could feel something was wrong as there was unsettling presence swarming around the halls. In the corner of her eye, something rushed past in the shadows and as she turned to look, a hand was placed on her right shoulder. With a gasp, she turned around to see her father, a grimacing smile on his face.

"Merilwen, what are you doing here?" asked Tillion, bring her into a tight hug. Kelsey was engulfed in his strong arms and realised that she was shivering quite a bit as the hall was unusually cold. His warmth was a welcoming gesture.

"I don't know, one minute I was with the dwarves, the next I'm here," explained Kelsey, before noticing how jumpy her father was. He kept looking around at the shadows with a worried face. "What's wrong?"

"You need to leave, now!" he stated, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the giant silver door that led outside of the halls. The once strong and fierce Moon God had shrunken to a concerning father fearing for his daughter's life. "He's here."

"Who's here?" questioned Kelsey, unsure of how her father was acting. Suddenly loud knocks were heard at the door, causing both to jump. Tillion stood protectively in front of her, as the knocks continued.

"Listen, he knows you are here on Middle Earth, he has been waiting in time for your arrival. Your very presence is luring him out of hiding and nothing will stand in his way."

"Do you mean the Darkness?" asked Kelsey, her hands rolling into fists. Her father just shook his head and spun around to face her. His towering figure was quite intimidating but as Kelsey stared into his grey eyes, she saw fear and uncertainty.

"The Darkness is a part of him, it came to him at his lowest point when he explored the Void and created the monster he is now. You need to be aware that the darkest hour is almost upon us and that you need to be ready, Merilwen. Do not let him take over your mind or we all be doomed," explained her father, giving her a light kiss on the forehead. "Both your mother and I are so sorry that the whole fate of world rests on you. We never wanted any of this for you, my dear star-rose."

"Who is he?" she asked again before the door to the hall burst open, revealing a black being with fiery, red eyes.

"Morgorth."

Kelsey bolted up in a panic, head-butting someone who had been leaning over her. Cobwebs were tangled around her body, the sticky substance stubbornly refusing to be remove. Her hands trembled as she picked at the webs.

"By Mahal, Kels, are you sure you aren't a dwarf because you sure can head-butt like one," claimed Kili, as he rubbed his sore head. Kelsey stared at him in disbelief as all the other dwarves removed themselves from the cocoons of spider webs. He seemed to be back to his usual joking manner and with no Adrianna in sight, she launched herself at him, almost knocking him over. She held him in a tight hug and refused to let go.

"What is this for?" he asked, enjoying the hug but unsure why she was acting like this.

"Just hold me," was all Kelsey mumbled before snuggling herself in the comforts of his arms. It was good to have him back.

"Where's Bilbo?" shouted Bofur as the dwarves finished untangling themselves. Kelsey and Kili separated and with red cheeks, proceeded to shout for him.

"Bilbo!"

"I'm up here!" said Bilbo, somewhere high up in the trees before yelling as a spider attacked him. All the giant spiders descended from the treetops and began to attack the Company. Kelsey fumbled for her bow and shot several in the face before being dragged backwards by the leg from another menacing spider.

"Kelsey!"

Kili appeared at her side as he and Fili fought off the spider that had her in its clutches. Kelsey thought the spiders in her old world were absolutely tiny compared to these. The legs alone were the same size as herself and the beady eyes were as big as her fists. She kicked it in its face and it recoiled, allowing Kili to thrust his sword in between its many eyes. Kili helped her up from the ground and had the nerve to say.

"We are even now."

"Kili this is so not the time for that!" she screeched, throwing a knife at an incoming monster.

"Yeah you're right, sorry," he replied, before Kelsey grabbed his hand in reassurance that she knew he meant well.

Managing to fight off the surrounding spiders, the group raced off through the dense trees, trying to keep close together. In the panic, Kelsey lost hold of Kili's hand and was bundled into the middle of the dwarves. Suddenly they once again surrounded by the spiders. One came right up to Thorin and before he could even attack, a blonde elf appears running in the treetops. Gracefully he swings down a spider's silk and slides under the advancing spider, slicing it in half. Kelsey looks on in terror as their saviour points his bow at Thorin.

The elves were here and they were not happy.
