An attack in the forest leads to a difficult decision for Arthur when he is forced to choose between his wife and his best friend. Some tough revelations follow when he's shown the consequences of his choice but will he learn from them and understand the changes he needs to make?

Arthur meant to reach out to him, check him for injuries, but halted in his tracks when, for the first time, he noticed that it was a small girl that was cradled in Merlin's arms. "Merlin, who is this?" Merlin's grip around the child tightened, as though he feared she'd be taken from him. "She's mine," he said hoarsely. "Her name is Aithusa."

What if he was given insight into the events that would take place during the Fires of Idirsholas. What if the fates gave Merlin a second chance to set things right, stop Morgause once and for all and perhaps even save a friend.

Morgana seizes control of Camelot by force. Arthur and his knights are forced to flee. And then Emrys—the man said to bring her downfall—walks into the throne room and offers himself as prisoner. How could she refuse? Only, it's not so easy being queen when you're feared, despised, and utterly alone. Sometimes the old man rotting in the dungeons is the only one willing to listen.

This collection of one-shot stories are just my visions of Merlin and Arthur's relationship during holidays (with which I am most familiar). Each chapter does stand alone and can be read in any order. Most chapters T for mild language or mild suggestive content. Individual chapters will be rated at the beginning if there's deviation.

S1Ep4 alternative ending. Arthur rushes to Gaius's chambers, desperate to know if the flower he retrieved was enough to save Merlin from the poison meant for him. It was, and now Merlin will live. Gaius thinks he'll be ill for several days though, and when Arthur sees him still sick he's not too keen on leaving him alone just yet. Can be read as platonic or pre-merthur
