Author's Notes: I am so sorry for not updating this story in four months! I've been very busy with original stories that I intend on publishing in the future, thus I have not had time to work on this chapter until this week. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this version of "Bungle in the Jungle" episode of Dinosaur King. Now that I have more time, I will be writing Chapter 7 sometime next week. I hope you enjoy this chapter, my fellow dino friends!

Chapter 6: Jake's First Dinosaur

[Later]

(Max's POV)

I continued running until I ended up at the edge of the waterfall. "There's no place left to run," I said gloomily as I looked around. Soon, the Saltasaurus arrived near the fall. I saw it sticking its tongue out, and I took this as a sign of it would lick my choppers, before dining into a meal, and so I closed my eyes to meet the end.

"Stop right there!"

I opened my eyes to see a Giganotosaurus coming out of the water, with my friends on its back. A Battlefield had been made up by the minute the Giganotosaurus was summoned. I could only watch, when the Giganotosaurus charged at the Saltasaurus and bit onto its spiky back. It retreated quickly afterward, and the Saltasaurus responded by swinging its neck around, before striking the Giganotosaurus on its head.

The wind by the speed of the two dinosaurs was enough to nearly cause me to fall over, almost the cliff. "Gaah!" I cried out before latching onto the edge.

"Max!" Tyrunt called out.

"Let's help 'im, Tyrunt!" I heard Daniel speak.

"You got it, pal!"

"DINO SLASH!" Daniel shouted. "Tyrannosaurus, roar!"

Tyrunt appeared in full size, when the Saltasaurus swung its tail at him. "Ouch!" he grunted, shaking his head.

I tried to pull myself up in the meantime, but my grip was failing. Then, I decided to do the only choice I had left. "Hey, Chomp!"

(Chomp's POV)

I was already running around the forest when the Battlefield appeared once again until I heard Max's cry for help. "Hey, Chomp!"

"Max!" I quickly realized. "I'm coming, bud!" I charged toward the direction of the sound. However, I was stopped by the caiman from earlier, who wasted no time in charging toward me. "I don't have time for you!" I roared before hoisting up the caiman, tossing it into the river behind me, and I shook my head before continuing my mission.

(Daniel's POV)

I was amazed at the Saltasaurus's strength and power, but soon, Giganto's grip on the dinosaur was slowly weakening. With one last swing of his neck, the Saltasaurus slammed Giganto into the ground. This caused the piece of ground Max was hoding onto to separate from the earth. "Aahh! Someone help!" he cried out.

"No!" We cried out, as if it was going to be the end of our friend.

Soon, what caught my surprise, out of nowhere, Chomp burst from the bushes, jumped over the Saltasaurus's back, and grabbed Max's hand, stopping his fall. "Chomp!" Max exclaimed with tears of relief in his eyes.

"Heh, sorry I took so long," We heard Chomp speak, before the Triceratops pulled Max back up.

I was relieved. Then, I realized the battle was still ongoing, while Giganto and Tyrunt was fighting the Saltasaurus who appeared to be winning. "Tyrunt! Giganto! Let's give Chomp a chance!"

Tyrunt and Giganto pulled back from the Saltasaurus, as Max reached for his Dinoholder. "Come on, please work! Yes!" he exclaimed happily, finding his Dinoholder to be working. "Now let's help 'em, Chomp!" He turned Chomp into his card.

"DINO SLASH! GO, TRICERATOPS!"

The Saltasaurus was currently occupied with Tyrunt and Giganto, that he never realized Chomp appearing.

"Hey, longneck!" The Saltasaurus turned around to see Chomp pawing the ground. "Leave my friends alone!" he roared before charging forward.

However, the Saltasaurus used his hard, spiky back to counter the attack. Chomp responded by backing up and clashed with him again, sending shockwaves that made ripples across the lake. The Saltasaurus then lowered his head down and bit onto Chomp's frill.

"Hang in there, Chomp!" Max called out.

"You can do it!" Both me and Tyrunt called.

Chomp swung his head, getting himself free from the Saltasaurus's grasp. As he slid his horns across his back, sparks flew off.

"Whoa! It'll be hard for Chomp to get through those spikes," Rex observed.

"Yeah, no kidding," Jake agreed.

"Watch out! He's coming form behind!" Zoe warned Chomp.

Sure enough, the Saltasaurus used his tail to knock Chomp off his feet, sending him sliding across the dirt. I noticed he was beginning to look tired. "I…don't think…I can take…another," he panted.

"Uh, come on! Don't let him beat you, Chomp! Get up!" urged Max.

Somehow, the encouragement from Max did the trick, as Chomp had heard his partner's cry of worry and struggled to stand. As he did, the Saltasaurus charged forward.

I clenched my hand. We need a way for Chomp to beat the Saltasaurus, but what?

Suddenly, Chomp charged forward, while our eyes widened as the two looked like they were ready to clash again. Just then, the Triceratops lowered his head and catapulted the Saltasaurus into the way, leaving his body exposed. "Now, Max!" he roared.

Max nodded and ejected the card. "Right! Let's finish this! Electric Charge!" He swiped the Move Card and Chomp activated the attack. Then, Chomp leapt up into the and struck the Saltasaurus's belly, where his armor couldn't protect him.

"Direct hit!" Christian and Jake cheered, just when Chomp landed on the ground as the Saltasaurus kept floating in the air, twitching with electricity flowing around him.

Soon, he landed in the water and glowed blue, returning to his card. "Hehe," chuckled Chomp before he, too, collapsed and returned to his card.

"That was awesome!" Jake exclaimed. "He clobbered that Saltasaurus!"

"He sure did," Giganto agreed with a nod of her head.

Chomp's card continued floating as it landed right by Max's feet. "You fought so hard you returned to a card, huh, Chomp?" Max said before summoning the Triceratops in his miniature form. Chomp stood up and looked at Max before he was hugged by him. "Ya did it, Chomp, you won!" he laughed. "It's great to have you back. Let's never get separated again, okay?"

"Yeah," said Chomp when he gently bit Max's cheek.

"Max," I called, walking up to him. "Here. You two deserve the credit for this one."

"Thanks," Max thanked. He looked over to Jake. "Jake, come here!"

"Huh?" Jake blinked, before walking over.

"You keep a good hold onto the Saltasaurus, alright?" Max smiled.

"But, I thought you earned this fair and square," Jake said, confused.

"Well, yeah, but you don't have a dinosaur yet, and you need a partner in case those Alpha Gang crooks show up again."

"He's got a point," Chomp added.

"Wow, I-I don't know what to say…" Jake stuttered, taking the Saltasaurus card from Max. "Thank you."

"That's what I like to hear!" Max gave him a thumbs up, before we laughed.

Just then, a lizard came out of hiding. "Look at this," Tyrunt said as he nudged the lizard.

"Oh, yeah," Max realized. "I forgot about that lizard."

"Where'd you find it?" Tyrunt asked as he, Giganto and Ace started chasing the lizard due to their predatory instincts.

"It was running from the Saltasaurus like me," Max recalled.

This made Tyrunt stop in his tracks at the realization, only to have Giganto and Ace bump into him. "Wait, then he didn't want you…"

"He wanted the lizard," Rex finished.

"Why?" Giganto asked.

"We'll ask him when we get home," Jake said, looking at his dinosaur card.

"Listen up, you beastly brats!" A loud, angry voice called to us.

We looked over to find a badly damaged blimp, complete with bandages and everything, slowly rowing away. The Alpha Gang was inside, completely drenched.

"You may have won this round, but mark my words, the Alpha Gang will return!" Ursula addressed us through the megaphone. "With a big, fat bill as well for all the damage you caused to this blimp!"

"And my dry cleaning bill, too!" Zander added. "I'm sweating like a pig here!"

"Whatever he said!" Ed finished as he pointed in Zander's direction, too tired to think of a threat.

"All right, now let's stroke!" They said together as they picked up speed.

"That old lady never quits, does she?" Zoe asked Paris, who shook her head.

"I told you before, I'm not old!" Ursula shot back, making us wince a bit.

[The Fighter Lab, Kalundborg Outskirts]

We were finally back in the Fighter Lab, with Giganto in her small size as we walked down from the teleporter.

"Welcome back, kids!" Dad greeted us. "How was the trip to Amazon?"

"It went well, except for a few things that got in the way," Christian responded.

"A few things? Like?"

"I will tell you later," I sighed. "What matters now is that we have new dinosaurs in our group. Dad, Sarah. Meet Giganto the Giganotosaurus."

Giganto bowed her head. "It's nice to meet you, humans."

"Likewise," Dad smiled at her. "So, who's this other dinosaur?"

At this, I gestured to Jake, who nodded and swiped Salta's card in his Gauntlet before the Saltasaurus appeared in his miniature size. "Where are we?" he asked.

"We're in the Fighter Lab," I told him. "Basically, your new home, but I suspect Jake will take you to his place."

"Right," Jake nodded.

"This seems a little…empty," Salta noted, walking around in the lab.

"We'll get more eventually, you just need to be patient," Sarah told him.

"What's this?" Giganto asked, looking at a fossil.

"That's a dinosaur fossil," Tyrunt explained. "They keep them around as a sort of history for our species."

Giganto tilted her head. "Why would you need fossils, if you now have the real deal right here?" She looked at Dad.

"That's…something of a complicated question, Giganto."

"I will be heading home," Jake announced, walking toward the door with Salta behind him.

"Remember to call him your dog!" I called over to him.

"I will!" Jake waved farewell.

"What's a dog?" Salta asked at last.
