Rules

1

You must not touch Guideau. Under no circumstances should you break this rule. You may literally lose your head.

Misha glanced at Guideau in disbelief. It felt surreal. To think that such a petite girl, barely a few inches taller than her, could cause such damage was beyond her comprehension. But Misha trusted Ashaf and stuck to his instructions.

This knowledge didn't come from nowhere. Ashaf had witnessed the deaths of those villagers the day he met Guideau. It wasn't long after that, that he confirmed that passing by wasn't the only way to lose your head.

It was after one of their hardest training sessions. Guideau had been injured, but the beast wasn't too concerned. By the time the exercise was over, the wound had opened, and blood was running down her arm. Droplets trickled to the ground, leaving a faint trail. Ashaf noticed, and an indecipherable look settled in his eyes.

"You're hurt," he said calmly. He looked down, inspecting the damage. Then, without a word, he reached for her hand.

The air was ripped apart, and the mage could barely react. He managed to duck backwards at an impossible angle, avoiding the blow. Droplets of blood flew with the sudden attack, Guideau's powerful fist drawing an invisible parabola in the air.

"Don't touch me, you bastard!" she hissed defensively.

Ashaf was out of breath, the day's training taking its toll. He straightened up, dusted off his suit, and raised his palms to show he wasn't a threat.

"I'm not trying to hurt you," he spoke calmly. "I'm just trying to help. Don't you remember? I can heal that wound."

Guideau stared at him, her hand secured between her fingers, looking defenseless and vulnerable for a second, as if protecting herself from some threat. Then she dropped her arm and spoke firmly.

"OK. Do what you want. Just don't touch me without warning."

Ashaf exhaled and smiled in that enigmatic way of his.

"Alright," he complied. "I'll ask permission next time. Shall we?"

He held out his hand, and Guideau offered her injured wrist.

It healed within seconds.

I really like Misha. I hope to see more of the dynamic between Guideau and her.

Here I am again with a three-shot story. I saw a panel from chapter 28.5 a few days ago, but I didn't recognize it. I glanced at the chapters, and found 28.5. I'm still not sure wheter I read it before lol

Anyways, so I decided to write about how Ashaf came to these 3 rules he mentions to Misha, sprinkling some humour here and there. Maybe later on I'll address how he addressed certain situation lol Any ideas?
