He could see it, the Star Saber, laying there in front of him. The only issue was that he couldn't get to it. It laid just out of his grasp, his digits barely grasping the hilt of the sword. He could hear the cries of his teammates, some of it cries of pain and others, a war cry. After what felt like a century but was really only a kilk, he finally grasped the Star Saber and lifted his battle worn body off the ground, feeling the strain of everything since he was only a youngling, barely old enough to even be in this war. Lifting the sword onto his shoulders, he makes his way over to the edge of the omega lock, looking down to see Optimus Prime and Megatron in battle with one another. Getting a better grip on the handle, he starts making his way down to Optimus and with a series of beeps, he says, "Optimus! Here!" And he suddenly jumps off the landing he was one, wanting to get the saber to Optimus as quickly as possible. But it was too late, Megatron saw him, with the Star Saber and without hesitation, he fired his cannon at the young scout and it was then, that time seemed to have slowed for everyone. Megatron shot three times before Optimus moved his arm cannon out of the way but it was too late. The first shot hit him in the middle of his chassis, causing him to lose his grip on the Star Saber. Then the second one hit, causing him to fall back. But when the third and final shot got to him, he was gone. He fell into the cybermatter below him, slowly sinking beneath the surface. If one was paying attention, you could hear the screams of pain, anguish, anger, even from the depths of space. It was the end of him, the end of the young cybertronian scout, Bumblebee.
"OPTIMUS!" A cry was heard out through the scrapyard, gaining the attention of everyone. Before his optics allowed him to see everything clearly, everyone was at the ready in his space, armed and looking for whatever caused their leader to cry out the way he did. "Lieutenant! Is everything okay!?" Cadet Strongarm asked her commander, a look of worry on her faceplate. "Y-yeah, I think so." Says Bumblebee in a shaky voice, the nightmare still having a huge effect on him. "Are you sure lieutenant? Do you need a scan?" Asked Fixit, the ever so helpful minibot. Bumblebee nodded his head, not trusting his voice at the moment. He opened his mouth but all that came out were beeps and whirs. It didn't really surprise him but it seemed to have shocked the others. Closing his mouth, he shook his helm and tried again, "Denny, what day is it today?" The human, Denny, seemed a bit taken back from the question. "Uh, it's the 27th." Bumblebee nodded and asked again, "And the month?" Everyone was confused, wondering what Bumblebee was thinking. "April?" The answer came out as a question, still not sure why Bee wanted to know. Bumblebee nodded again, his servo reaching up and rubbed his throat subconsciously, unaware he was even doing it. "Uh Bee? Everything okay?" Sideswipe stepped towards him, a little unsure. Again, Bumblebee nodded before standing up and walked away from the group. He stops at the back entrance of the scrap yard, the others following him to make that hes okay. Without turning around, he tells them, "If Optimus calls or drops by, tell him that I went home." And with that, Bumblebee transformed and left the scrap yard. Everyone just stood there, worried and confused. "Oookay? Anybody know what was up with him?" Sideswipe turns towards the others, pointing in the direction that bee went. "No, I don't. Lieutenant Bumblebee hasn't acted like this before." Strongarm was worried about her lieutenant. "And what did he mean by, "'Went home'? Isn't his home on Cybertron?" Russel asks, looking at the other bots. Strongarm nodded, "Yes, it is. So I wonder where he went." Before anymore could be said, a pinging was heard through the scrapyard, alerting everyone that someone was here and that they came by space bridge. The bots quickly make their way over to the command center to see somebot walking through. Well, some bots as more than one was coming through. No one could believe what they were seeing. The bots who stood before them was Team Prime, Optimus, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Arcee, Smokescreen, Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack. Russel was the first one to get over his shock and steps towards the others. "Optimus, what are you doing here?" Optimus looks down at Russel, lifts his helm back up to look around the scrap yard before looking down once more. "I'm here for Bumblebee." Smokescreen then steps forward and continues, "We all are. Have you seen him?" Sideswipe, Grimlock, Strongarm, Fixit, Denny and Russel all looked at each other before they looked at the other bots. "He told us to tell you that he went home. Optimus, do you now-sow *hit* know! What's going with Bumblebee?" Fixit looks up at the tall Autobot as he asks. A look of surprise came across the other bots faceplates. "You mean, he never told you?" Acree whispers. "Tell us what? What don't we know?" Strongarm was getting extremely worried now. "Smokescreen, you, Arcee and Bulkhead go pick up the children. They are waiting for you three. The rest of us will stay here and explain." Smokescreen looks back at his leader and nods, "You got it Optimus." With that, the three transformed and rolled out. "Why don't you all take a seat? This is a story that we are lucky to have a happy ending to." Optimus gestures to everyone as he speaks. "Um Optimus, what do you mean by that?" Asks Sideswipe as everyone takes a seat, all the bots sitting on seats like cars while the humans sit on the ground. "Because…" Optimus wasn't the one who answered. Everyone looked up at Ratchet in surprise, he was looking at the ground. He then lifted his helm and they all could see the pain, the hurt, the suffering, the agony in his optics. They heard the pain in his voice as he spoke, almost like he was on the verge of crying but holding it all in. Ultra Magnus was the next to speak up, the pain in his voice as well "Today was the day…." The ones that was sitting were very confused by what they were saying. "'The day' what? What is today?" asks Strongarm. Wheeljack cleared his throat, to speak in a clear voice but it was no use, for you could also hear the pain in his voice even though he tried to hide it. "The day that…" he couldn't do it, couldn't say what had to be said. He turns suddenly and punches a stack of old cars, toppling it over. The others jumped when he did and before Denny could say anything, Optimus Prime laid a servo on Wheeljack's shoulders. Wheeljack ex-vents hard, shuddering as he remembers. Optimus looked at the humans and the other bots before him, younglings to him. "Because today is the day that Bumblebee died."
