CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN

Another short one my lovelies, I'm sorry. Can't count the number of times I kept going to type Charlie instead of Jax in this chapter! Brain meltdown.

The discussion in Church takes hours. By the time they're finished Donna has picked up her kids and taken them home, the garage is empty of cars and employee's and the only ones that are still hanging around are the ones that live there, Gem, Fiona and myself. Chewing on the inside of my lip I count breaths as I hear movement behind the doors. The scraping of chairs leading to the doors being thrown open and the Sons emerging, Jimmy and his goon behind them all.

Jax stops by my seat and kisses the top of my head "Where's Abel? Jimmy wants to meet him."

I bite harder than intended on the inside of my mouth, the tang of blood hitting my tongue briefly "He's sleeping, it's almost 9pm. I figured we'd just stay here tonight. I sent Miles to take the dog for a walk."

Jimmy's voice behind me startles me a little "I've heard about this dog you've got and what he did." Lifting his eyebrow at Jax there's a sort of challenging stare that goes between them before Jax snaps around and heads to the bar. Jimmy seems completely unaware of the anger I can see in Jax's shoulders "So tell me about this dog?" He says with an almost evil looking grin as he sits on the chair Fiona jumps out of with barely a look from him.

I shrug "He's just really protective of me. I've had him since he was a puppy so I became the centre of his world." I snicker at the thought of how quickly Doj took to both Abel and Jax and mentally sigh in relief at it, and his ease around all the leather clad men I call family.

Jimmy nods, leaning back into his chair and picking up the beer Fiona sat in front of him without a word of thanks. My irritation lifts a little at his ungratefulness but a quick glance from Gemma I bury it and try to listen to what he was saying "…we had four Dobermans, but they didn't listen to orders. Now we have humans." Jimmy laughs, a sound that sets the hair on my neck on end "Course, they had to get rid of the dogs first."

A squeak from the monitor seems like a godsend when I snatch it off the table and turn towards the hall "Sorry, have to go Jimmy. Baby calls."

Pushing open the door I chuckle when I realise the noise hadn't been Abel at all, who is still sound asleep in his crib but Jax who's sitting on the bed with his head in his hands.

Crossing the room I climb onto the bed behind him and start rubbing his shoulders gently "Times like this you hate that you quit smoking?"

Jax chuckles, leaning back into my arms and nods "Yeah. I just keep reminding myself he's only Stateside for 4 weeks, only in Charming for 1."

I cock my head to the side and lean down so I can see his eyes, kissing his cheek lightly "I thought he'd be here longer?"

Jax shakes his head "Nah, he wants to spend a week here, then a week with each of the other two charters. Then apparently he wants to have a week 'holiday'." Jax growls "With what he referred to as his wife and kids."

I snort but then remember what I wanted to say "So wanna tell me who the kids dad is?"

"Huh?" Jax says, twisting out of my arms and going to the mini-fridge we'd installed in the room to keep Abel's bottles in. Pulling one of the beers he hid in there out he sits at the desk "Chibs' is her dad. You knew that."

I shake my head "Not Kerianne's dad. Who's Trinity's father?"

"What are you on about?" Jax looks even more confused as he opens the beer, swallowing a few mouthfuls before setting it down. "How would I know?"

I resist the urge to giggle "Tell me what you know about Maureen Ashby then."

Jax shrugs "She's the owner of Ashby's in Belfast. It's a store half a block from the Belfast clubhouse. Supplies all their food, booze and smokes. She's the on and off old lady of the Belfast president, guy named Keith McGee. He's first 9, works closer with the IRA than any of us do. He's the join between the Sons and the IRA, the connection that greases the palms of the law and the dock in Belfast to make sure our shipments go out. She's a bit of a nutter really, but he seems to love her, most of the time."

I nod "And he and Maureen haven't been together long?"

"About 8 years I think. Why?"

"Just want to make sure I know everything I can. Anyway, the kid?"

Jax drains his beer and drops the bottle in the trash "I don't know much about her. In fact you probably know more than I do already."

I shrug one shoulder as he starts stripping his clothes off "Possibly. I'll tell you what I know about the kid then, learnt from Fiona and the girls. Her name is Trinity, goes by Trin though. She loves Abel already and asked if she could come to the house tomorrow to play with him. Her and Kerianne, who prefers Keri and desperately wants to see her father, which is a complete side issue I'm not going to go into. Back to the girl at hand. Trin is 12, a few months older than Keri who is due to have her birthday in five days. Oh, by the way I'm baking a cake for her. She, Trinity, has never met her father. Apparently her mother and father were deeply in love, spending all their time together until her father found out her mother was pregnant he split never to be heard from again. That was the story she was given by her mother. Fiona told me the truth. Her father had a very drunken one night stand with her mother and then went home in the morning with very little memory of what happened, but a head and a heart full of remorse, back to his wife who forgave him instantly. When he found out about the kids existence, through a third party, his wife agreed he should have as much contact as he wanted, he tried and was refused access repeatedly by Maureen Ashby."

Jax finishes undressing, sliding between the sheets in his boxers and fixing his look on me "Okay, and I need to know this why?"

I shrug, standing up and walking to the bathroom, pausing in the door "Because she has Uncle Otto's eyes."
