Authors Notes- Here I am back again with yet another update to Rude Awakenings. As you can gather I don't own Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. I do, however own Riley Jones and the plot. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter Four. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter Four: Decepticon Property.
Days had passed and in those few days Riley had learned a little bit about the Decepticons, the Autobots, and the Minicons they sought after. So, it turned out that Wheeljack and his fellow Decepticon buddies were not in fact man made creations. It turned out she was being held captive by giant alien robots. Well, that scratched the whole 'find out who created the Decepticons and punch them hard in the nose' plan. Oh, and she found out that they really didn't like being called robots. According to Wheeljack being called a robot was demeaning, like she saw them as lifeless, emotionless things. And Riley wasn't going to lie, she really did think like that.
Wheeljack told her that if she really needed to refer them to something call them mechs if not by their names. So, Riley now knew that she was being captive by giant alien robots, a sense of dread forming in her gut. She had read and watched various things on alien abduction with her dad years ago. Something that always scared the living daylights out of her, the stories of experimentation and such, and she couldn't help but wonder if the same thing was going to happen to her. Not like she could really help it, she had seen how some of the Decepticons had looked at her. Namely the one called Cyclonus, and the one called Thrust, who whenever she saw him would grumble about how he was wasting his time with a mere human when his usefulness was required elsewhere.
And Wheeljack was no different, he was tasked with taking care of her after all. Especially now that Thrust had completed what would be her new home. Which was just a glorified cage with dirty mattress as a bed along with a couple of stained pillows, and a ratty gray (what used to be blue) blanket to keep her warm. If she had to guess the Decepticons plucked from some dump somewhere as they smelled a bit...rank if she was putting it nicely. But never less Riley kept her mouth shut, she dare not complain any further, the last time she had Wheeljack having grown tired of her constant whining had grabbed the girl, and hung her upside down.
The Decepticon had obviously been pushed to the limit by her, and her constant yammering. He didn't let her go until she apologized profusely before placing her back down. Since then Riley tried to keep quiet muttering only a thank you whenever Wheeljack fed her. Her food consisting of granola bars and bottles of water. Riley had been relieved she had been so certain that they would be feeding her something they had dug up from the garbage or gave her something inedible. But no, she had been supplied with a endless supplies of granola bars. How they had managed to get them and a couple flats of water had confused Riley. Had they robbed a grocery store? But no, Wheeljack had informed her that he had Windsheer and a couple of other Minicons go into the store and get what she would need.
Including shampoo and soap for those times when she had the privilege of being able to wash up. As well as some changes of clothes, sure it was dollar store stuff but it was better than nothing. And hey, Riley thought as she paced around her cage, taking it all in. She had to admit Thrust did a pretty good job in researching what she would need to be comfortable. He even added a small private place for her to use as a bathroom, how lucky for her... But despite everything it was still a prison, big as it was she was the Decepticons little pet. Well, until they grew tired of her, and let her go. She half expected them to add a giant hamster wheel to help keep her active, but thankfully did not, that would just be rude.
A string of beeps cut through her thoughts as she continued to pace around her cage, hands clasped behind her back. "Wh-what?!" she choked out, stopping in her tracks when she saw Windsheer peering in at her.
"He asked if you could stop pacing around and just stay still?" Wheeljack translated.
"Oh...sorry." Riley muttered. Moving to her mattress she sat down as Windsheer continued to stare at her. But hey, Riley thought as she sat cross-legged on her bed. At least I'm not a Minicon. Oh yeah, as soon as she learned about the Minicons she couldn't help but feel pity for them. Turns out these little guys that the Autobots and Decepticons were fighting so far for? Were a bunch of smaller Cybertronians that the Autobots and Decepticons used to give them a power boost in battle. Not only that but apparently some of these Minicons were able to combine into weapons.
The two she knew of were the Starsabre and the Skyboom shield. The latter was currently in the possession of Starscream, and the Skyboom shield was with the Autobots. But that wasn't the worst of it, Megatron seemed to have no intention of stopping until he had all the Minicons in his possession and would use them to rule the universe.
Yup, it was safe to say that if ol' Megs got his grubby hands on them it would be game over for everyone. Another string of beeps cut through Riley's thoughts once more.
"Dude, I don't understand you." She said, looking to Windsheer once more.
The Minicon's optics seemed to narrow in annoyance before looking to Wheeljack, who sighed in annoyance. "He wants to know if you're bored. Are you sure you can't understand him?"
"All I hear is a string of beeps." Riley told him. Wheeljack sighed again and said nothing more before going back to the project he was working on. "But to answer his question yes I'm bored."
Another string of beeps from Windsheer, another annoyed growl from Wheeljack. "He wants to know if you want to help him with some chores."
Riley looked to Windsheer. "Sure, it's better than being stuck in this cage all day." She said with a shrug of her shoulders.
Saying nothing more Windsheer opened the door to her cage, and gestured for her to get out. Saying nothing Riley complied, and moved to follow Windsheer out of the room. When Wheeljack spoke up again.
"You will stay with Windsheer at all times. If you try to escape, or even think about it." He growled, blue optics narrowing further as he looked over his shoulder at her. "I won't hesitate to hunt you down and make you regret it." Swallowing thickly Riley nodded and followed after Windsheer. "Windsheer is going to keep an optic on you at all times, so try and behave." Wheeljack added, as Riley nodded once more before disappearing through the door.
Wheeljack heaved a sigh. Finally that wretched human was out of his hair for a while. Hell, if he was lucky something might happen to her, and he wouldn't have to deal with her for one second longer. He knew that sounded wrong, Lord Megatron had ordered him to look after the human and he intended to just that. That didn't mean he had to like it. To Wheeljack the human race was nothing more than insects, vermin, he wouldn't think much of it if he ran one down in the road and went about his day. And Primus did he ever entertain the idea of hurting the girl...Riley. He was a warrior, he had come to Earth for two things, to get payback for what Hotshot had done to him, and to serve Lord Megatron.
Not to babysit their human pet. But, Lord Megatron had insisted they keep the human, and had him take care of her. If something were to happen to the Decepticons pet human then Megatron would no doubt have Wheeljack's head. And Wheeljack couldn't have that he had unfinished business. And there was no way he was going to let anything get in the way of that. Gritting his denta he shoved thoughts of the human and Hotshot from his mind before pushing away from his desk. He wasn't going to get any further in his project so he might as well do something else. Stepping out of his quarters he looked around, seeing no one around he had made his way to the training room.
Perhaps some target practice would help him relax. Or that was what he thought until a loud siren sounded, making him look up. His spark skipping a beat. They had located another Minicon. Well, Wheeljack thought with a smirk, looks like I'll have something to occupy my time with. Turning on his heel and heading towards the command room. Eager to get out on the field once more.
What is that? Riley thought as she nearly jumped out of her skin, and looked around as the loud alarm blared. Windsheer letting out another string of beeps as he looked to her, and pointed down the hall. This time Riley didn't need Wheeljack to translate as she followed behind the Minicon obediently until they came to the command room. Megatron turned to look at her, a toothy grin on his faceplate.
"Ah, you're here human. It looks like it's time for you to pull your weight around here, girl. We just located a new Minicon." Megatron said.
And of course you need my help. Riley thought darkly as she chewed on her bottom lip as she looked around the room. Though considering how many Minicons I've seen roaming around the base I would think that you wouldn't need my help. But, hey what do I know?
"Did you hear me?" Megatron growled.
No.
"Yes." Riley grumbled.
Megatron smiled again. "Good, You'll be with Wheeljack during the search, and human-"
"Riley."
Riley had opened her mouth to tell him her name when Wheeljack spoke up, Megatron and Riley both turned to the Decepticon in question. "Her name is Riley, Lord Megatron." Wheeljack said.
"Do I look like I care, Wheeljack?" Megatron growled, before turning back to Riley. "As I was saying, Cyclonus." Megatron addressed the other Decepticon as Cyclonus handed something to the Decepticon leader. "This is for you." He said, handing her something.
Silently Riley took it as Megatron bent down to give it to her. Her eyes widening when she saw what it was. It seemed to be some sort of suit in matte black. But that wasn't what caught her attention, what did was the purple insignia on the back. What better way to let people know who you belong to than this. Riley thought grimly as she pulled it on.
Smiling yet not saying another word Megatron and his men headed to the warp room, Riley following behind them. As she was the last to step she could only watch as the Decepticons transformed and she wasted no time getting into Wheeljack as they all warped away.
Well, this is new. She thought as she stared out of Wheeljack's windshield at the snowy terrain. This was the first time she had seen snow, mouth hanging open as she stepped out of Wheeljack and looked up at the grey sky as the first few snowflakes fell onto her face. The wind was bitingly cold and to Riley, who had spent days cooped up with the Decepticons it was the best feeling in the world.
"What are you doing?" Wheeljack growled as he transformed beside Riley.
"I-I was just-"
"Quit daydreaming and help find that Minicon. That's what you're here for!" Wheeljack growled.
Riley flinched and nodded as the rest of the Decepticons transformed.
"Spread out, men! And find that Minicon!" Megatron ordered.
Riley and Wheeljack watched as the rest of the Decepticons fanned out, before Wheeljack looked down at Riley. "Hop on." He ordered, hold out his hand to her.
Shaking her head Riley turned away from Wheeljack's outstretched hand, and began to walk. "I can walk." She said.
Wheeljack let out an irritated growl as he scooped her up, bringing her to his faceplate. "In what way was I giving you a choice?" He growled.
"Look you don't need to carry me everywhere. I got two perfectly good legs I can use-"
"So you can try and escape?" Wheeljack said, matter-of-factly.
Riley would admit she had entertained the idea, hell she had entertained the idea back at the Decepticon base before the alarm sounded. If she could of got past Windsheer that was.
"Thought so..." Wheeljack growled, his grip tightening on her ever so slightly.
Without another word the two of them travelled through the snow, Riley noting that is some places Wheeljack had difficulty moving, sometimes slipping or tripping as he continued on. And on more than one occasion Riley would insist that she could walk, arguing that he would find it easier to climb up the slopes if he could use the trees around them to help him. And after a while Wheeljack had placed her on the ground, giving her one final warning that if she tried to escape she would regret it Riley only nodded in response. The two of them walking in silence, Wheeljack's optics scanning the area for any sign of the Minicon panel.
And after what seemed like forever something caught Riley's eye, a bright green light. "Wheeljack!" Riley spoke, getting his attention.
"What?" Wheeljack asked, looking down at the human.
Pointing in the direction of the green light Riley looked to him as he looked to where she was pointing before smiling down at her. "Well, what do you know? You are useful after all." Scooping Riley up once more the two of them headed in that direction only to come to a rock wall, the green light spilling from a small hole in the bottom.
Dropping to his knees Wheeljack peered into the hole. Great, of course the Minicon had to be someplace where he couldn't get at it. He then looked to Riley once more as she looked up at him.
"Looks like I'm going to need your help again, kid." He said, placing her down once more. "Crawl in there and get that Minicon for me." He ordered her.
Riley looked to where Wheeljack had pointed, before looking up at him once more, hesitating.
"Well?" Wheeljack asked, giving her a little nudge.
Riley bit down on her bottom lip, she knew that last thing she should do was defy Wheeljack but... "Look, me and small, dark spaces don't really get along-"
"Do I look like I care?" Wheeljack growled, roughly nudging her once more, this time knocking her to the ground. "And don't come out until you have that blasted Minicon." He added.
"Well, look what we got here." A voice spoke, catching Wheeljack off guard, spinning around he glared at the owner of that voice. Hotshot.
Well, this is perfect. Wheeljack thought, smirking. Not only would he retrieve a Minicon for Lord Megatron but he would also get payback for what Hotshot had done to him. Casting one final look at Riley he growled. "I Thought I told you to get a move on, human!" He snarled before glaring at Hotshot once more.
It was then Hotshot noticed the human girl at Wheeljack's feet. His optics widening when they did. The Decepticons had a human?! The two of them started at each other for a moment before the girl turned away from him, and dropped to her knees and began to crawl through the hole.
"What's the matter, Hotshot?" Wheeljack asked, taking a step towards his old friend. "Never thought a human would help the Decepticons?"
"Not willingly what did you tell her?" Hotshot asked.
"Nothing. The girl is being punished for helping you the last time we met." Wheeljack told him.
"What are you..." Then it dawned on Hotshot. His thoughts going back to the last mission. When Wheeljack had snuck up behind him, and almost snuffed out his spark. Had it not been for someone calling out to him, warning him.
He remembered looking around for the source of the voice and yet found nothing, having thought that whoever had helped him had left. He thought nothing of it then. But now it seemed that was sadly not the case. Narrowing his optics he glared at Wheeljack.
"Well now it would seem I've come for two things. The Minicon AND the human."
Wheeljack could help but smirk at that. "I would like to see you try." He growled, before charging at Hotshot, the two of them clashing, Wheeljack sending Hotshot tumbling down the slope as he followed after him. Wielding his energy batons as he closed in on the Autobot.
She was okay. She was okay. She was okay. Riley continuously told herself, as she crawled on hands and knees through the small hole, that seemed to be growing smaller and smaller the further she went. She hoped that was not the case. She was okay, she could do this. Not like Wheeljack was giving her much of a choice in that regard. And hey, plus side at least there were no snakes or spiders in her with her.
Swallowing she forced herself to continue on as the sounds of battle reached her ears. She hoped that it was far away from her location that if something did happen it wouldn't involve this chunk of rock coming down on her. Hopefully. Forcing herself to continue on she finally caught sight of the glowing green panel. Forcing herself to pick up the pace Riley soon came to a small clearing on the other side of the rock wall. Breathing a sigh of relief she got to her feet, and dusted herself off, eyes fixed on the glowing green panel sitting on the ground before her.
Picking it up she let out a startled cry as the green light intensified, making her drop it in surprise as she cried out. Shielding her eyes she took a step back until her back hit the rock wall behind her. After what seemed like forever the light faded. Removing her hands from her eyes, she gasped as a small red and blue Minicon stood before her. The two of them stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity when-
*Well, are you going to say something, or are you just going to stand there?* The Minicon asked.
Well, Riley thought, as she continued to stare at the Minicon. I hadn't expected this to happen. Biting down on her bottom lip. Something told her that Wheeljack and the rest of the Decepticons would NOT be happy with this...
