Chapter II: Another Day At The Autobot Base.

"Is she staring again?" Arcee whispered to Jack the next days the kids visited the base.

Jack looked over his shoulder, and yup, Miko was staring at them just like Arcee had thought. In fact, Jack noted as he turned away from the girl, who upon realizing that she had been caught staring had quickly turned away. Miko had been staring at them a lot lately. And he was beginning to wonder why? Was she staring at him? Or at Arcee? And if so, why? Jack made a mental note to ask her what was up the moment he was finished helping Arcee.

"She's been doing that a lot." Jack commented, picking up the tangled pile of wires and following after the femme.

"Maybe she likes you." Arcee commented, the corner of her mouth turning upwards. At that Jack looked to Arcee, startled.

"Y-you don't think that she really could-"

Arcee chuckled. "Relax, Jack I'm just messing with you." She told the boy, patting him on the back as she crouched down beside him. Jack glared at her before focusing on the task at hand.

"You okay, Miko?" Raf asked, jerking the girl from her thoughts.

"Hmm?" Miko murmured, turning to him.

"You've been staring off in the distance for a while now, so are you okay?"

Miko flushed. She hadn't meant to get caught staring, but she couldn't help it really. Arcee just constantly caught her attention. "Sorry, lost in thought." She said.

Raf blinked, Miko lost in thought? This was new. "What were you thinking about?" Raf asked. "And why did it involve staring at Jack so much?"

Jack?! Miko blinked. What is he talking about? I wasn't staring at Jack! She thought. But, she thought as she chewed on her bottom lip, sketchbook sitting in her lap, colored pencils on the table before her. Maybe it was best if he thought that. After all, it would just raise more questions if she told him that she was staring at Arcee and not at Jack. Sure, there was a good chance if she told him the truth he probably wouldn't care, but if he did ask why she was so focused on Arcee she wouldn't really have an answer.

Well, she sorta did, but Raf and Jack already dealt with enough of her antics as is. The last thing she wanted to do was have them dealing with Miko and her... interest in Arcee. Granted, Raf seemed rather open minded in regards to most things but she was certain that even he would question her. And Miko really didn't have an answer.

"Miko?" Raf questioned, jerking her from her thoughts once again.

"Oh, sorry, I wasn't staring at Jack I was...staring at...nothing really." Lame excuse for the win. Miko sucked at this lying thing sometimes. Not all the time but today she just sucked.

"What were you thinking so hard about?" Raf asked.

"I, um..." Miko chewed on her bottom lip, trying to come up with something to tell him. "I'm, uh, just thinking about how quiet it's been lately, that's all." Now that was not a lie. As for the last couple of days things had been quiet in regards to Decepticon activity.

Raf nodded, and turned back to his computer. "You're right. But that doesn't mean that the Autobots can relax. The Decepticons could strike at any moment and when we least expect it." He told her as Miko rolled her eyes.

"I know, I know. Not like we need to worry. Bulkhead and Wheeljack can take care of any Decepticons just like that." Miko said, snapping her fingers.

Raf nodded, chewing on his bottom lip. "I just can't help but think that the 'Cons are up to something." He murmured.

"Yeah cowering in fear." Miko commented, as she turned her attention back to her sketchbook. Where a picture of Arcee of all Autobots stared back at her as she stood triumphantly over the crying form of Starscream.

Grabbing a light blue pencil crayon she began to color on her optics. And soon found her thoughts returning to Arcee, of getting lost in those blue optics. Of all the things she liked about Arcee the one thing she liked the most was her optics. Loved the shape of them, and she had noticed they weren't entirely blue, she had noticed that they had a bit of pink in them too. Making them unique, at least to Miko. But then the girl noticed that blue and pink seemed to be Arcee's colors. She was quiet certain that there was no other color combination what would suit Arcee. They were perfect on her. In fact, Miko glanced at her nails. She had gotten bored of the black nail polish she always wore, and now her nails were a deep cobalt blue and pink.

She had remembered going to the mall with her Host mother intent on buying a deep green nail polish and a white nail polish. Colors to represent Bulkhead and Wheeljack. Only to see a blue and pink nail polish. And she wasted no time snatching them up. And hey, in her defense they didn't have the colors she had been looking for anyway. She knew it might seem a little obsessive but she couldn't help it. Though Miko had to admit it there were times when she had to wonder why she was so interested in the femme. Sure, she was just as bad ass as the rest of the Autobots, and god knows when it came to Decepticons getting wrecked there were no better Autobots than Bulkhead and Wheeljack.

And sure, she liked Bumblebee...sorta. It was hard to form a relationship with him considering she couldn't understand him, but the yellow scout could still hold his own against the Decepticons. And then there was Ratchet and Optimus. Miko chewed on the inside of her cheek as she looked to where the Autobot leader and the old medic were talking. Well, it was hard not to respect Optimus. And Ratchet, well... Miko respected the fact that Ratchet alone was the one that kept the base from crumbling down on their heads while the rest of the Autobots were out on missions.

But, Miko just couldn't put her finger on why she fixated on Arcee. Placing her sketchbook down she yawned before looking down at her phone. Nine PM, she should really think about getting home before her Host mother decided to fret and call the cops to look for her. Miko rolled her eyes at that thought, wondering how her Host mothers actually daughter dealt with that. And hoped she was having the time of her life while in Japan. Stretching her arms over her head she sighed.

"Well it's been fun." She said, getting the attention of Bulkhead. "But I really should head home."

Nodding Bulkhead transformed, allowing the girl to climb in before driving off. As they did Miko found her thoughts returning to Arcee once more.
