Chapter 7: Safe at Last!
Eui finally reaches the training facility
Eui: Heavy Breathing. What the hell happened here? Where did the four of them go? Is that one of the generals Geni was talking about? What killed it?
Eui: Ok think Eui. None of the four kids are here currently. The dungeon that was originally here is gone. So that means either they cleared the dungeon or another top ranker came and took care of it. Was it Paxis? Manon? No Manon left to take care of the outside. Ugh this is bad. If they finished off the dungeon then they must've headed toward the infirmary.
Eui starts heading toward the infirmary when she runs across more Abyssal Disasters
Eui: Get out of my way.
Eui slashes the beasts away with a flick of the wrist
The bodies begin to freeze over as a thick mist covers Eui's surrounding
Eui: This is so damn frustrating. I know I said I wanted more excitement, but I didn't want others to get hurt.
Eui looks over to some dead workers and hunters
Eui: I have to hurry. I can't let those four lose their lives so easily.
Eui: Think positively. Surely someone was sent to collect them if Commander Cho told me to get Geni. Yes. That's it. Commander Cho wouldn't leave those four unguarded. He'd never make that kind of call, not with young hunters. But who the hell killed the general?
Eui arrives to the infirmary and sees the shutters closed with multiple Abyssal Disasters around the area
Eui: Sigh. Thank the Sacred Sanctions, they didn't break into the infirmary. Hopefully that means they're in there.
Eui: Die.
Multiple giant ice spears all crafted with precision pierce the Abyssal Disasters killing them instantly
Eui: Knock Knock. Is anyone there?
As the shutters start to open Eui notices claw marks on the bottom of the gate
As the shutters finally open all the way all that's inside are more Abyssal Disasters
Eui: W… what? Wh..ere are the kids? Where's Geni?
Eui: You F**kers. I hope for your sake you didn't touch my students.
Eui begins slaughtering all the Abyssal Disasters
1 hour earlier
Ji-hu: Hey no crying. We're all alive and well. And Geni is here somehow. Things are as good as they'll ever be. So don't cry.
Meihua: Shut up Ji-hu …
Geni: I hate to break up the moment, but I'm pretty sure there was a dungeon nearby and my coming here has unfortunately endangered us all. I apologize.
Ji-hu: It's fine Geni, you were ordered to come here anyway. Besides, keeping you safe is just as important as keeping us safe.
Nagato: While that's sweet and all, we're gonna have to find a way to enter the otherside of the infirmary without damaging the internal structure of this building. I'm feeling exhausted after everything that's happened so I won't be able to support the hole we make.
Atlas: I can help. You healed me pretty good. If you can break open a hole in the wall without endangering the structure I can hold it up while you guys get through.
Ji-hu: Are you sure Atlas? You don't look so hot.
Atlas: I got it, just show me the cave in.
Nagato: Alright, Meihua, can you watch the shutters while Ms. Geni and I carry Romy over to the wall? Ji-hu you can move right?
Meihua nods and walks off to monitor the shutters
Geni: Let me carry Romy, please do not tire yourselves out. Be prepared to open this wall you speak of.
Meihua: GUYS I NEED YOU TO HURRY! ONE OF THE ABYSSAL DISASTERS GOT THEIR CLAWS UNDER THE SHUTTERS. THEY'RE TRYING TO PRY IT OPEN!
Ji-hu: You guys go. I'm going to help Meihua.
Atlas: Wait you're not-
Ji-hu leaves to go assist Meihua in keeping the Abyssal Disasters at bay
Atlas: Che
Nagato: Leave him be. He'll be ok. With his new powers he should be fine.
Atlas: Alright show me the wall and open it up. We gotta close it off as soon as we all get to the other side.
Nagato nods and quickly rushes to another sector of the infirmary as Geni and Atlas follow after him
Nagato: Alright I'm gonna open this wall up, it's gonna be tough but you need to immediately use yourself as support.
Atlas: On three alright? I totally got this.
Romy: JI-HU, MEIHUA, WE'RE OPENING THE WALL UP GET OVER HERE.
Meihua: WE'RE COMING.
Nagato: Alright. Ready? 3, 2, 1 !
Nagato transmutes the rubble into a big hole for Atlas to stand in
Atlas rushes into the hole and starts holding it up
Atlas: I GOT IT! GO NOW!
Geni and Nagato rush in as various doctors and hunters stand in waiting on the other side
Atlas: JI-HU GET YOUR AND MEI'S ASS HERE RIGHT NOW!
Ji-hu: WE'RE ALMOST THERE. HOLD ON JUST A LITTLE LONGER!
Meihua and Ji-hu turn the corner to see Atlas just barely holding up the hole in the wall
Atlas watches as Meihua and Ji-hu turn the corner with multiple Abyssal Disasters behind them
Random Doctor: HURRY CLOSE THE HOLE. THEY WON'T MAKE IT.
Atlas: SHUT THE HELL UP OLD MAN. THEY'RE MAKING IT.
Romy: COME ONNN
Geni: MAKE HASTE
Ji-hu and Meihua: HRRAAAAAAA
Ji-hu and Meihua burst forward and past Atlas as Atlas jumps back and drops the wall
Nagato reinforces the entire wall by transmuting it into metal
Heavy Breathing from everyone in the room
Romy: Crying. YES YOU GUYS MADE IT!
Ji-hu: Man that was way too close.
Atlas: You're telling me man. My arms were melting right there.
Meihua: There were so many Abyssal Disasters outside those shutters. They just forced open the shutters and flooded in.
Random Hunter: YOU'RE ALL CRAZY. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU. YOU COULD'VE GOTTEN ALL OF US KILLED. WE'RE SO DAMN LUCKY YOU GUYS MADE IT IN TIME.
Nagato: Please don't yell. We're stressed as it is. We did what we had to in order to survive.
Random Hunter: Who the hell do you think you are? The grown ups are talking right now.
Nagato: I'm Nagato Kuko. And if I were you I'd shut up right now cause I'm close to trying to figure out how my Sacred Art works on humans.
Gasps from the doctors and other hunters
Random Hunter: You… you wouldn't dare. Your apprenticeship with the Rank #20 would be over. Your reputation, ruined. You're bluffing.
Nagato: Do you want to know who these 5 are? They're our only chance at defeating the Abyss. If we had let two of them die, who knows what could've happened. So I'm sure they'd make an exception if I lost a little bit of control on some random hunter who decided to talk a little too much.
Murmuring from among the crowd about the prophecy
Ji-hu: Damn, didn't take him to have the pipes.
Meihua: Neither did I. He was quite … not this.
Atlas: Honestly I could care less. Gets them off our backs.
Geni: Young Nagato, there is no need for such harsh words, please calm down. It is reasonable why these people would be upset in this situation.
Nagato: Sigh. You're right. My apologies everyone.
A nurse walks up to them
Random Nurse: Are any of you in need of medical assistance? We have some room and it seems like you all took a beating.
Atlas: Finally someone with manners.
Meihua: We're all fine physically. Nagato saved us from our life threatening injuries.
Random Nurse: That's quite impressive. Um, if it wouldn't be too much of a bother we have quite a few injured who need medical aid we are unable to provide at the moment, could you help them Mr. Nagato?
Nagato looks over the the other five
Romy: You should go! If they need assistance you'll be perfect. We'll be alright, don't worry about us.
Meihua: Stay strong.
Atlas: See yah later kid.
Nagato: Sigh. Alright, Nurse lead the way please.
Random Nurse: Thank you so much.
The hunters and doctors move out of the way and begin asking the five questions
Random Doctor: Wait so you all are part of the prophecy? Was it really true?
Random Hunter: Is this Abyssal Creature the being from outer space?
Ji-hu: Her name is Geni and yes she's from outer space.
Atlas: Oi, Ji-hu, didn't you say we had to keep things locked down?
Ji-hu: Oops. Yeah sorry about that, we can't answer any more questions.
Meihua: Shakes head. Ji-hu you literally told us not to talk and here you are blabbering.
Ji-hu: heh. Can you really blame me? I'm so exhausted right now.
Random Doctor: Let me lead you to the resting area. You'll be safe there. Our barricades have held up quite well and the Abyssal Disasters have moved on from our area.
Romy: Thank you kind sir!
Geni: We appreciate your hospitality.
Random hunter stops them from moving forward
Random Hunter: Wait. I want your guarantee that this "Geni" is safe and not a threat to the other patients.
Ji-hu: We all vouch for her. She wouldn't even hurt a fly if you told her too.
Geni: I promise I'm of no danger to any of you.
Atlas: Man we've been with her for so long, if she wanted us dead she would've done it a while ago.
The Doctor motions for the group to follow him
Meihua: Smacks Atlas. Stop being so blunt, but yes we've been in her vision while vulnerable to attack. She's had many opportunities to incapacitate all four of us.
Ji-hu: Just lead us to a bed man, I'm about to die.
Romy: Sameeee…
Atlas: Want me to … uh carry you Rom?
Romy: Yes please. I don't wanna walk.
Atlas: You lazy sack of bones. Come'ere.
Geni: I can-
Meihua cuts her off
Meihua: Smiles. It's better this way.
Geni: Nods. Very well.
Ji-hu: Meihua, why do you look perfectly fine? Even if you didn't get hurt much, I feel like you should be a little tired. I feel absolutely exhausted.
Meihua: I don't know. I feel like my stamina has gotten quite good. I haven't fought much at all today so that could be why.
Ji-hu: Fair enough I guess.
Random Doctor: You can rest in this room. There is enough space for all 5 of you. We will provide you with what we can so just ask please.
Romy: Thank you Doctor.
Atlas: Rom you comfy?
Romy: Yeah thanks bro. I think I'm gonna nap for 40 years.
Atlas: 40? I'm not going to wake up so don't bother trying.
Atlas lies on his bed and immediately falls asleep
Romy: Dang he must've been really tired today. Wistfully. I hope we can train together more now.
Romy closes her eyes and quickly falls asleep
Ji-hu: Man they clocked out fast huh.
Geni: Are you going to be alright Ji-hu?
Ji-hu: Yeah Geni I'm alright. I just feel … off with everything that's happened. It's been like 9ish hours since we met yet I feel like so much has happened. I don't know how to feel about having a new power. What if I accidentally injure someone?
Geni: I'll be sure to not let that happen Ji-hu. That's why I'm here. To train you and help you unlock your hidden potential.
Meihua: And I'll be here to keep your ego in check. And knock you down a few pegs.
Ji-hu: Ha ha very funny. But … thanks. I feel a lot better with all of you with me.
Geni: Of course. Why else would I have arrived on Earth but to help train the future rift warrior. Personally it's my honor to be able to train you Ji-hu.
Meihua: You already know I'll always be there to help you.
Meihua smacks Ji-hu's head
Meihua: So don't you ever go running off into danger like before ever again. No matter how angry you are, ok?
Ji-hu: Alright mom, I'll be more cautious next time.
Geni: You two are quite the duo. I cannot wait to see your progress. As for now I'll retire to my bed. Have a peaceful sleep, young ones.
Ji-hu: Good night Geni!
Meihua: Have a good rest Geni.
Geni waves to them as she lies down on her bed
Ji-hu: Imma hit the hay too. Sleep well Meihua.
Meihua: I'll go to bed in a bit. You sleep well too Ji-hu
As Ji-hu nods off Meihua sits on her bed and opens her phone
News of the surface dungeons is still live and a lot of destruction is occurring in not just Seoul, but also in all of Korea
Korea is calling other hunters from different nations to help
Meihua: I hope things will turn out alright.
Meihua's eyes glow a soft gold before she rolls over and closes her eyes
