AREA 2

OFFICE OF A HERO

Rebecca Costa-Brown, the Chief Director of the Parahuman Response Team, or PRT, was currently having a bad day.

A dimensional disturbance had happened earlier that day, and despite all their searching, no source for it had been found.

She'd been informed by Contessa, of course, that she wouldn't be of much help with the search, and to get to work on her duties as the Chief Director.

Speaking of work, she had actually been recently notified of a new trigger looking to join the wards, and while this was usually a good thing (It was always better when a fresh trigger made the decision to put their powers to good use), the prospective ward was apparently a biotinker.

Biotinkers were one of the hardest tinker types to work with, not only because of how they need living creatures to actually make anything, but also because of how many of them were much more unhinged than typical parahumans.

Oh, sure, all parahumans had to have something wrong with them, it was how they even got powers in the first place. But biotinkers were worse than most others. They usually had a lack of care for human lives, something not helped by how often their specialties involved human bodies, and they would often go villain, though there were always a few exceptions.

But what made them really stand out was how often their creations ended up with the ability to self-replicate, whether it be through turning other creatures into something like them, or by simply being fertile.

What all this meant, of course, was that biotinkers had the most potential to become an S-class threat out of all the other power types.

That led her to where she was now, looking at the papers for this potential problem.

She'd been doing the usual paperwork that someone in her position had to do, when she'd received an urgent message from the director of the PRT ENE, Emily Piggot, about a prospective ward. This fresh trigger, who went by the name of Michio Nishi, had called in themselves about looking to join the wards.

A power testing appointment had been made for later that day, and when they arrived, they apparently had said that they were a biotinker, and had asked for some animals to demonstrate with. The testing continued as normal, though afterwards Piggot had immediately alerted her about them.

She watched the power testing footage herself, so she could see if there was any insight about his powers she could glean from it.

When Michio had arrived, they came in with a small box, which supposedly contained all their creations so far.

When they opened the box, a small onion-shaped thing flew out of the box, and grew to be much larger than its initial size.

Once it was fully grown, the 'Onion', as Michio called it, produced 9 small men, each standing at around waist-height, and each of them was a different color.

Michio called them his 'Pikmin', and when asked to demonstrate their capabilities, Michio one more thing out of the box, a suit, one which looked like how a spacesuit would look like in one of those old cartoons.

Michio proceeded to explain each of his Pikmins' abilities.

The reds had an all-or-nothing immunity to all heat and fire, and possessed a spiked nose that they could use to attack with.

The yellows had an all-or-nothing immunity, too, being immune to all electricity. They also were amazing conductors, and using their unique ears, were able to both dig into the ground and be thrown much further than any other type.

The blues were quite simple in comparison, simply possessing an all-or-nothing immunity to water. They couldn't be affected by water unless they let it, and they could even freely move within any bodies of water, moving in a way that could only be described as 'flying'.

The purples were up next, and they possessed the ability to manipulate their density, and could create 'gravity waves' when thrown. They also possessed the lifting strength of 10 average pikmin.

The whites had yet another all-or-nothing immunity, this time to poisons, acids, and diseases. They could also produce a substance that could melt through solid steel in seconds.

The next ones up were the rock ones. These ones, much like their name suggested, were made of rock, and had an all-or-nothing immunity to piercing attacks.

The winged pikmin were up next, and they had wings, just as their name implied. They also had an all-or-nothing immunity to being crushed.

The final type was the ice pikmin, and they seemed to be made of a special type of ice, one that couldn't melt. They also had an all-or-nothing immunity, this time to all things icy and cold.

According to Michio, more pikmin could be produced by feeding biomass to the Onion.

He also demonstrated his ability to actually create things, by using a provided pig's carcass to create what he called a 'Bulborb'.

He said that he had to manually create these other creations, but that his Onion could still store them.

Having finished watching the footage, Rebecca's worries were slightly relieved. While some of Michio's creations could self-replicate, the ones that could didn't seem to be that dangerous. Of course, there was always the potential for him to make them more dangerous, or even to find some way around it, but for now, things seemed to be good.

They'd also put Michio through a psychological evaluation, to see how badly he'd broken during whatever his trigger event was.

After taking a look at his results, Rebecca was shocked! These were not the results of a typical biotinker. These weren't even the results of an average cape!

All the signs that fresh triggers showed simply weren't there, almost as if he'd never even had a trigger event!

In fact, even looking back at the footage of all his conversations since he'd arrived, he seemed to be perfectly normal, like it was just another day.

This could mean anything, though, whether he was simply better at hiding any peculiarities than most, or he had some sort of secondary thinker power that let him act like a normal human being.

This called for a direct interview, and while that would usually be left for someone else, she wanted to do something to distract herself from the search for that anomaly.

-DANDORI-

I was currently sitting in a room, one with only 2 chairs and a table in the center of it. I was waiting for an interview, and I had no idea what was taking them so long to start. Maybe they were having some issues with my papers?

Before I could dwell on that thought any longer, the door finally opened, and in walked a tall woman with dark hair. According to my current life's memories, this was the Chief Director of the PRT. But according to the memories of my past life, this was none other than Alexandria, one of the most famous capes in the world.

Once she saw me, she looked like she began thinking about something, though it didn't take long for her to stop.

After a few moments of waiting, she finally spoke.

"Who are you really?"

-DANDORI-

And that has been the second chapter of Bringing Dandori to Another World!

I hope you enjoyed it, and be sure to give me any critiques you might have.

Conversation is both welcomed and encouraged.

Also, if anyone has any hero name ideas, feel free to share!

With all that out of the way, I'll see you all next chapter!
