Lloyd POV: It's been three days since Kai got hurt and something has been weird. Every morning there are more dishes than before and someone is always tripping over something left out in random places. Laundry has been overflowing fast now and our training equipment was constantly left dirty and slightly damaged.

"How are things getting like this?" Jay asked while we were having lunch.

"But it's still weird though. I didn't think we could be this bad." Cole mumbled mostly to himself.

But he did have a pint. We usually weren't this bad and it was strange that things were going this wrong. The only thing that was going right was Kai, who finally listened and was staying in bed.

Then Zane, who was trying really hard to figure this out, walked in and looked a little shocked as he said, "I think I found out what has been going on."

"Really?" I asked, but I was curious as to why he seemed shocked.

"Yes, but Nya, I have to ask you something." he said, and that really got all of us confused.

"Sure." She said, also confused.

"How were Kai's sleeping habits like back when it was just you two?" he asked. Now I was really confused.

"Uh… He usually woke up before me. But what does that have to do with anything?" she responded, asking for all of us.

Zane didn't answer right away. Instead he pulled out a tablet and said, "You're going to want to see this."

As confused as we all were, we did watch him pull up our camera footage. The date and time was on the day Kai got stabbed around two in the morning. I was about to say something when we watched Kai leave his room and head to the kitchen.

"Since when did he get up that early?" Jay asked, but no one answered him.

It continued to show Kai washing the dishes, cleaning the living room and hallways, and cleaning all the training weapons before he finally took a break. Somehow he managed to get that all done in an hour and then he headed back to the kitchen and made breakfast before Zane and I walked in.

"How the heck did we not notice this?" Cole asked.

"I have no idea, but it does explain the increase of our messes." Zane said.

But the look that Nya was giving made me feel really bad for what Kai was about to go through.

"He has a lot to answer for." she said quietly before standing up and walking out.

"He's in trouble." I said, and they all nodded.

"But we still need to figure out what to do from now on. I doubt he'll stop so easily." Cole stated, and he did have a point.

Something like this isn't easy to change. Plus Nya just said that he was up before her. Meaning that he probably was up a lot longer than he told her. Habits can be hard to break, especially old ones like this.

"We'll have to try. He can't keep this up." I said, and they all nodded.

"But first, he's going to need to survive Nya." Jay said, and I sighed in response.

That was true, and I can only imagine what was going on.

Nya POV: I can't believe this idiot. He told me that was getting up only an hour before everyone else. But two in the morning?! I stomped through the halls up to the med bay and opened the door. He was looking at his phone and looked a little surprised when he saw me.

"I thought you were eating." he said, putting it down.

I walked over and said, "I was until Zane showed us something."

He looked confused and asked, "What?"

"Yeah, it showed what you were up to three days ago." That made him freeze and look away.

"You said that you were only awake for a little, but two in the morning?" I asked, but he didn't say anything.

I hate interrogating him when he's injured like this, but there's no way I'm letting him off like this.

"Well? Aren't you going to explain yourself?" I pressed, making him sink a little.

Eventually he sighed and said, "I was just helping out, that's all. I don't really see a problem."

"Kai, you were literally up extremely early and doing pretty much everything. That goes beyond 'helping out a little.'" I responded, and he sank more and made himself flinch a little.

I sat next to him, avoiding his wound, and said, "You don't have to do all that. We are more than capable of pulling our own weight." I tried to reassure, but he didn't look at me.

"I know that. That's not the issue." He mumbled, and I got confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked, and he sighed in response.

"I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep in when I tried. At this point I don't think I can." he explained, and I instantly felt guilty.

I know he was doing this back when we were kids. I tried to help, but I was younger and just wanted to play with him. That's probably when this bad habit started.

I gave him a side hug and said, "We could help you. You need a better sleeping schedule."

He leaned on me and said, "I know, but I'm managing Nya. I have it worked out, so you don't need to worry."

But I glared at him until he looked nervous and said, "There's no way any of us will accept that."

I got up and he said, "Nya, seriously. I'm fine." But he flinched at that moment and I had to gently push him back.

"You can think all you want, but we're still going to help. Even if it's just a little." I said, and walked out to go and talk with the others.

I was not going to let my brother continue doing this. This is going to stop here, before he gets into trouble because of this.

Kai POV: Why can anyone believe me when I say that this isn't a big deal. I moved myself to get comfortable since the wound was starting to bother me. But I couldn't stop thinking about what Nya promised.

She's not going to let this go, and neither will the others. And they really don't need to. Sure maybe I need to work on this habit, but it's not like I get tired easily or am exhausted during the day. So there really isn't a problem, right?

I sighed and rolled over on my good side, and closed my eyes. Maybe I'll wake up and they won't know, but that's the dream that I know won't happen.
